Equality assures that every employee has access similar opportunities as well as the fair
treatment. ASDA is supermarket retailer in Leeds. This was founded in year 1949 when
supermarket owing through Asquith family that merged with Associated Dairies Company of
Yorkshire. During a lengthy court dispute for fair pay, which could result during retailers
receiving additional £ 8 billion compensation, ASDA’s grocery workers secured a big victory.
The appeal Court has ruled on the decreased wages of female workers at the ASDA Store and the
high pay of male warehouse employees (Assari and Moghani Lankarani, 2018). ASDA reported
that it charges 12.5 percent less for its female workforce than for its male average staff,
attributing the gender gap to the elderly. Retailers estimated that mid-sized difference in salary
between both men and women working in 2017 was 8.9%, better than national average in 18.4%.

As per opinion of Arvind Rongala (2020) Gender equity is recognized as the fundamental
consideration for the success and development of every company in today's diverse corporate
environment. For order to build an equitable and competitive economy, everyone must have an
equal chance of succeeding. There are some strategies used through organization to improve the
gender equality:
Remove gender pay gap- It will only exist is there is positive culture is promoted in
company. New culture of the transparency which also challenges a firm to explore pay gap
between men and women and prevents candidates from asking what they received for their latest
jobs. Each job should then have a paying bracket detailing the remuneration for the function.
Buffer is an excellent example of a company which supports transparency within the
organization and it is a social media management platform.
Considering Leadership Roles equally- It is not correctly believed to be suitable just for
men in leadership positions and women for the protection of positions. The foundation of gender
discrimination in the workplace is such stereotypes. Individuals with appropriate qualities
deserve a leadership role. One perfect way to encourage gender equality is to give candidates
suitable leadership positions, regardless of their gender (Cherry, 2019). With proper recognition
of women in the leadership roles, gender equity in the workforce is strengthened unwittingly, as
more women are working throughout. Furthermore, the large number of leading women should
raise the proportion of women who join due to job opportunities.
Make work/life balance a priority for employees-While investigations have shown that
gender pay gap for the young women is increasing, it has become wider between working
mothers because they are actually paid for their leisure time. The shortage of available childcare
resources is a significant obstacle that currently prevents women from achieving the top of their
careers. Organizations must consider offering to pay for childcare and elderly care, and ensure
that they do not over vend how familiar they are to job seekers if such resources are not
accessible, because this may contribute to disappointment and early departures from the
business.
Strict Policies against Harassment- A strict anti-labor policy like sexual harassment,
sexism, bullying and more is of utmost importance. Company should recognize that they
Document Page
discipline such crimes strictly. Out of four women are mentally or physically assaulted at
workplace on average. This is duty of the manager to take an early look at these problems to
avoid women being abused. In these cases employers will act as quickly as possible to ensure the
responsible party is disciplined and take the appropriate steps to support the victim in every way
possible (Dipboye, 2016).
Impact of gender equality on employee turnover
As per opinion of Zubair Hassan and Sumaiya Shafiq (2020) the consistency of their
organization's communication environment will affect gender equality. In particular, fair
representation of men and women is required to be preferred and the perception of the internal
world to be improved. Therefore, equal treatment of both genders is expected to result in a
positive environment of communication, although any gender inequalities result to a negative
environment. In addition, the relationship among gender equity perceived and the
communication environment is expected to affect intention to turnover. In addition to this,
gender equality is helpful in reducing the employee turnover rate of an organization. A gender
diversity-enhancing organization can help employee retention and reduce significant costs by
restrict the marketing expense, interview time and administrative work, dismissal pay, new
employee onboard costs etc. Employee turnover is mainly related to number of the employees
which leave form and also replaced through new staff members. Measuring the employee
turnover rate can helpful to managers which want to evaluate the reasons for turnover for also
estimate cost to require for the budget purposes. Developing the positive working environment
and providing the equal opportunities to all the staff members is helpful in sustaining the
employees and also reducing the employee turnover rate. In this, there is no need to company to
hire the new staff members and spend the cost on the providing training to the new employees.
This helps the company to reduce the Recruitment process and training cost to new staff
members in an organization. In order to motivate the staff members there is a need to company to
give better career opportunities as well as give responsibilities to women staff equal to the men.
This helps enhance motivational level and also they can able to focus on performing their job
activities for achieving the set aim and objective through the top management.
The average difference among all the respective women and men working through ASDA
is 7.6 percent. It lowers the overall number of full or part-time employees by 1.3% as compared

to 2017, and by 10.3% below a domestic average of 17.9%. The overall disparities in wages for
all applicable ASDA males and females was 12.4%. It was 0,1% less than national average of
17,1% relative to 2017 and 4,7% lower (Egdell and et. al., 2020). ASDA has shown that the
average woman working is 12.5 percent less for his average man and the gender disparity in
seniority rates is due to the difference. The company said that the average wage gap for 2017 for
every male and female working was 8.9% that was higher than the domestic average of 18.4%.
Relation among gender equality and the reduction in high employee turnover
According to opinion of Tamara Pitts (2020), relationship among gender equality and
reduction of employee turnover rate of an organisation is positive. If company deal with all the
staff members if they are for effectively in an organisation and retain long time period. This
helps in increasing the organisational productivity and also reducing the employee turnover rate
of an organisation. An unequal Treatment develops negative affective effects could be produced
and job satisfaction thus decreased. A good job level Satisfaction is optimistic as it has to do with
multiple good results for organizations. It has been found to increase the productivity of
employees and overall influence. Negative relationship among perceived gender is believed to be
employment satisfaction mediates equity and commitment to turnover. And that's what's
expected Gender equality may not directly affect turnover, but by job satisfaction. Gender
equality assuming that people would not stay at a job if not happy with it, Gender representation
perceived affects the satisfaction of one's job. The connection among perceived is expected the
intention of turnover will influence gender equality and communication. It is supposed to be an
optimistic atmosphere of communication reduces intention for turnover, while negative
communication environment raises it because people are not expected to live with an
organization a negative environment of communication (Jones, 2016).

Procedure of collecting as well as analysing appropriate information is the research
methodology which is used for making the effective business choices. Research methods are also
referred to as an efficient research process for accurate data about topic. It is specifically
designed to assist researcher to gather reliable information on the subject. This is methodology
that can be used in research and is dependent on other persons' ability to conceive the analysis. In
addition, methodology gives other investigators blueprint for conducting their research, with

different methods. For doing the research methodology, research onion has been used. Layers
considered in research onion mention below:
Research philosophy- Within this section, interpretivism and positivism are described
within order to obtain better results as a positivism philosophy adopted by researchers. Along
with this, the theory of positivism is used to draw a researcher’s true and applicable inference. In
the current report, the theory of interpretivism is not appropriate for study, since these results in
an invalid analysis (King and Bryant, 2017).
Research approach- There has been two different approaches to research that involve
inductive and deductive methods throughout this section. Both issues and problems related to
particular subjects of study are important to recognize. Present theories are used in a deductive
approach to propose particular conditions that are correct. Inductive method, on the other hand,
requires non-numerical knowledge used to validate the numerical test outcomes. Deductive
approach is used here because appropriate quality information is provided for the completion of
the research report (Lambert, 2016).
Research choice- This is one of essential part of the research methodology through
which an investigator can evaluate easily and assess information on towards specific area of
subject. There have been mainly two choices includes quantitative and qualitative that also helps
in accumulating as well as gathering reliable information. This allows a researcher to use a
quantitative research choice to include useful knowledge on a specific subject upon choosing
such a methodology, a researcher will obtain reliable data and findings that will allow them to
conclude this study in a correct way.
Research Strategy- It also covers a number of fields, including case studies, surveys,
interviews, and so many more. Questionnaire is better method to help in obtain and collect
accurate data or knowledge from the sample size associated with the mentioned subject of study
(Nehring, 2019).
Time horizon- This is recognized as an important section of research that assists a
researcher in deciding the length of each operation. To this reason, the Gantt chart introduces an
efficient bar chart to allow researchers to evaluate the phases from which each study process
starts and ends. The chart covered a variety of activities including subject selection, research aim
Document Page
and objectives, literary review, research methodology development, analysis and data gathering
and final project completion and recommendation. Gantt chart is therefore an effective graphical
presentation for each investigator.
Data collection- This study section is divided into two efficient ways of data collection
such as secondary as well as primary. Questionnaire for primary method is best source to be used
to collect reliable data for this research. A collection of valuable sources, like books, magazines,
journals, publishing work etc., will be added to the secondary source. In addition to these, the
researchers will also submit primary or secondary sources. Key reasons to these data collection
tools should be used to gather accurate as well as comprehensive information concerning the
importance of gender equality strategies and their impact in reducing high employee turnover
(Nelson, 2016).
Sampling- This is mechanism for choosing a gathering of respondents that can provide
the public with knowledge on current topics. There are two basically probabilistic and non-
probabilistic approaches. Sampling techniques include. Probabilistic sampling was used as it
gives each individual the same probability of being chosen as a sample to reduce the risk of
partiality. By applying probabilistic sampling, 50 respondents of ASDA are randomly selected.
Non-probabilistic sampling for the ongoing investigation is not sufficient because the researcher
needs extra time and costs.

TASK 2
P3
Cost- In carrying out research project, it is important considerations. Researchers must
control the correct funds as per the research activities so that the investigator does not face any
problem during research activities are performed. This is necessary to an investigator to allocate
funding as per investigation tasks so that sufficient results can be obtained (Reavley, Jorm and
Morgan, 2017)
Access- Researchers must have sufficient access or authorisation to gather information
and evidence from the various sources. This is illegal for an examination without permission. Get
access and authorization is useful in gathering authentic data to conduct investigation in an
ethical manner (Riccucci, 2018).
Ethical consideration- It is field that is vital to carrying out important tasks and
processes so that the desired participants can receive attention. During the study, a researcher
faces various questions and problems when carrying out work. The key challenges are costs and
time, which the researchers in this study primarily face. In accordance with this, all private data
relating to respondents must be properly secured and secured by an investigator. If researchers
do not fully follow ethical guidelines, several other concerns occur in relation to legal procedures
that require sanctions and fines (Temple and et. al., 2019). A researcher must take ethics into
consideration or comply in order to conduct that study task efficiently so that accurate and best
suited data can be submitted. Ethics considered to specifically to privacy, receiver, anonymity,
transparency and also the informed consents. The researchers are helped in completing the entire
ethical study project.
P4
Each part of project is focused on quality or quantity analysis. Thematic tool helps to
analyze quantitative information using various topics. Themes develops, graphs made through
MS- Excel and there has been make interpretations of the gathered information from the
questionnaire in primary data collection method (Wainwright and et. al., 2019).

I am grateful to have opportunity to carry out this research on a topic: “Importance of
gender equality strategies and their impact in reducing high employee turnover. An ASDA
report. It is wider, more important subject, which has helped me develop my understanding of
gender equality strategies and its impact in reducing high employee turnover. This study also
helped me by improving the standard of my research including literature review, management
skills, collection of data etc. Those are the key competencies which have helped me to carry out
and complete through investigative operation. Different methods I use including research
methodology, research techniques, research strategy, primary and secondary study, qualitative
and quantitative analysis and others, for collecting accurate information concerned with
particularsubject. All of these are required and productive for proper and reliable study
information to be collected. In order to acquire true, reliable data about the study, primary as

well as secondary investigation is necessary. For primary investigation, I also use questionnaire
because it helps me gather accurate and reliable information on the subject.
P7
The questionnaire was developed in the conduct of existing research. Questionnaire is
among the efficient ways to gather primary method knowledge for planning and saving time.
From such a method, large samples from more people can be collected. The interview may be
used as the alternative approach rather than this. In this, interviewee communicates one to the
other. Explanation why the data collection approach is not used is that it requires long effort to
gather information and therefore costs.
CONCLUSION
This has been stated from mentioned report that the gender equality is necessary for
company to sustain staff. It is necessary for the company to provide the opportunity to all the
staff members is there female or male so that they can work effectively together, they can be
motivated and also achieving objectives within he given period of time. If there is any kind of
issue arise at workplace then manager take the strict action against it. In order to remove the
