INTRODUCTION
Talent management consist of set of activities and strategies that are adopted by an organisation
in order to keep its employees retained within the organisation along with development of their
skills and capability as per the requirement of organisation. In todays world of competition,
talent management is crucial for an organisation as it help in keeping the employees updated
about the new challenges and keep them prepare to work with those challenges and be able to
take the business to new height. The current study aims at develop an understanding regarding
the role that a talent management plays within a hotel and manner in which it supports in
improving its overall performance. This investigation will support Four season hotel in
determine several strategic approaches that it may use for effective implication of talent
management. The four season hotel is a chain of luxury hotel which is headquartered in Canada
and provide its services of hospitality and accommodation throughout the world. It maintain a
chain of 100 hotels and resort throughout the world and known for its high quality services and
greater base of satisfied customers. But to maintain this it is crucial for Four Season hotel to keep
its skills and competent personnel retained with brand for longer by providing them several
opportunity for growth and development by making appropriate use of strategic approach for
talent management. To better understanding of this the current study is conducted so that better
strategic approach for talent management can be identified.

LITERATURE REVIEW
To investigate about the importance of talent management in an organisation.
As per the view point of Chung, K.L. and D’Annunzio-Green, N., 2018, Talent
management starts from the identification of skills required within employees by an organisation
and then people are being hired as per the requirement. The main purpose of talent management
is to hire, develop and retain best employees within organisation for its success. Talent
management holds up several importance within an organisation such as it supports in
establishing the high-performance workforce and perform such activities that help in attracting
the talent with potential and retain them for longer along with [roper training and providing
growth opportunity. Additionally, it also supports in increasing the organisational productivity in
order to ensure regular innovation practices within organisation through the skills that employees
showcase when they get opportunity. These all contribute toward enhancing the quality of
operation that brings up positive outcome toward the visions of organisation and support in
achieving the competitive edge.
To determine several strategical approaches to talent management in context of Four-Season
hotel.
According to the information presented by Horner, S. ed., 2017, talent management is a strategy
related with the business which support in recruiting, retaining and improving the employees for
ensuring best possible performance of employees. But in order to ensure effective application of
talent management, Four Season hotel mainly focuses toward adopting strategic approach of
talent management which includes job description where each and every detail related with
particular job role is being specified to employees in term of their roles, responsibilities and
skills required. It also considers regular performance evaluation as main strategic approach
where employees are being assessed on their performance and then provided with feedback for

area of improvement in order to manage talent throughout organisation. Another approach is
effective compensation which ensure that each employee remain motivated toward its work by
providing appropriate benefit out of their efforts.

According to the view point of D’Annunzio-Green, N., 2018, , talent management plays a
significant role in improving the performance of an organisation by enhancing the skills and
capabilities of its employees as per the requirement of a particular job position. This in turn
support in brining changes in the form of improvement within the regular practices as it
employee is different in term of their working practices and if they are managed and motivated in
well manner than they try to put their efforts too in organisational setting instead of following the
ordinary procedure. With the implementation of talent management Four season hotel can keep
its employees retained and satisfied with their job practices. This in turn further support them in
getting new or innovative ideas for improving the working pattern from the employees as with
their development opportunity, employees get regularly engaged toward the development of
organisation. Hence it brings up several news or innovative ideas of improving the working,
resolving the issues or implementing the changes as per the market requirement.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is consider as a framework which support an investigator in
choosing best appropriate method for performing investigation in term of its data gathering,
presentation, analysis etc. This help in providing guidance to the researcher about what action
that it must undertake for performing the study in more effective manner (Scotland, 2012).
Different set of methods that can be taken into consideration for present investigation are
mentioned below:
Type of investigation:- For the success of a study it become crucial for the investigator
to choose right method of research. These methods can be either qualitative or quantitative with
the help of which the investigator make gather the information. In order to perform this
investigation effectively, researcher will make use of quantitative method as it support in
gathering the quantified data about a particular event which ensures accuracy of information

through systematic manner.
Research approach: The analysis of information plays a significant role in brining the
most positive outcome through the study. For this researcher is required to choose best approach
suitable for the study among either inductive or deductive approach (Silverman, 2016). From
these two deductive approaches would be more suitable as it is affiliated with quantitative
method and support in analysing the quantified data much effectively si that appropriate outcome
can be presented.
Research philosophy: - The set of beliefs or assumption that actually get developed by
investigator while performing the research in more systematic manner. The research philosophies
are mainly of two type such as Interpretivism and positivism. To perform this study positivism
research philosophies will be taken into consideration as this will remain highly supportive in
extracting the final outcome as per the overall collected information on proposed research topic
(Tuohy and et. al., 2013).
Research strategy- The investigator uses several different strategies for performing the
investigation in more effective manner. There are number of strategies that get used within an
investigation such as study, survey, observation, questionnaire, interview and many others. In
present study, investigator adopt questionnaire as its main strategy for collecting the information
from respondents in less possible time period.
Data collection- Researcher make use of several different methods for collecting required
data regarding a particular area of study. The data within an investigation can be collected from
two major sources i.e. either primary or secondary sources. For performing current study on
talent management both the sources will be used (Walliman, 2017). In this primary information
will be collected with the help of questionnaire from the employees as they have thorough
understanding regarding talent management within the organisation. On the other side secondary
information will be gathered from the already published sources such as online articles, books,
journals. In order to find evidence regarding particular area of study.
Sampling- This is consider to be a process of selecting group of people from the whole
population for gathering information about area of study. This sample size support in collecting
the primary information for study. The sample size is selected with the help of either probability
and non-probability method. In context of current study non probability method will be used by
