TASK 11.1 Outline of research projectIn current time period competition among the firms become fierce and it is very difficult forthem to maintain market share and profitability in the business. Hence, number of firms arefocusing on cost control and effective utilization of resources. Quality management is the one ofthe most important domain that refers to excellence that is achieved by evaluating tasks and byimplementing the quality planning and policies at the workplace (Sallis, 2014). There arenumber of techniques of quality management that are performed to identify the best way that canbe used to perform business operation’s in better way. There is very close relationship betweenquality management and employees productivity. In this research report, impact of changes thatcomes in the employee’s productivity due to application of tools and techniques of qualitymanagement will be examine. It has observed that by using quality management tools andtechnique’s managers evaluate business operations and identify the wasteful activities. Theseunproductive steps from business task are eliminated which help employees to complete assignedtask in short time period and make them more productive. Hence, it can be said that qualitymanagement play significant role in making employees more productive.1.2 Factors that are considered for selecting research project on quality management andemployees productivityBefore selecting a research project on specific topic it is necessary to identify the factors due towhich it is necessary to do study on specific issue. There are number of steps that are taken bythe firm to improve employee’s performance at the workplace. Most of the times it is identifiedthat management failed to generate desired results from effective implementation of its strategy.Some entrepreneurs think that by making use of quality management tools employees can bemade more productive (Boyd and Tucker, 2012). On other hand, there are some who assume thatquality management is not any important tool whose implementation surely elevate employeeproductivity. Such kind of entrepreneur’s think that increase or decrease in productivity dependson employee discretion and their motivation level. Hence, it become necessary to conduct aresearch and identify that what extent quality management play a very important role in elevatingemployee’s productivity at the workplace?

1.3 Critical review of literatureQuality management is the one of the most important discipline that is used by the business firmsto enhance productivity at the workplace. It is the productivity that play an important role inenhancing profitability of the business firm. Efficiency is another factor that play a key role inearning of revenue in the business. By using quality management tools unproductive steps areidentified in business activities specially related to production. By eliminating those steps fromproduction process energy of employees is channelize towards useful activities and in this waythey are made more productive. There are number of aspects that are related to qualitymanagement at the workplace (Sadikoglu and Zehir, 2010). One of them is the difficulty thatmanagers face in effective implementation of the quality management techniques like six sigmaand Pareto analysis etc. At the workplace most of the employees does not have deep knowledgeof statistical tools. This hampers effective implementation of quality management technique’s atthe workplace. There are number of quality management aspects that are undertaken by thebusiness firms at the workplace. Some of them are quality planning, assurance, control andimprovement. It is the quality planning by using which it is determined that in what areaschanges will be made. So that efficiency and productivity of the employees can be improved togreat extent. Apart from this there is a quality assurance strategies that are adopted to preventmistakes in performance of activities. Such kind of think make employees more productive andefficient. It can be said that there is very close relationship between quality management andemployee’s productivity.1.4 Research project specificationCurrently, research is conducted on quality management and its impact on employee’sperformance at Volkswagen. Research aims and objectives are as follows.Aim of researchThe main aim of the research is “To analyze the effectiveness of the quality management anddegree of its impact on the employee’s productivity and efficiency at the workplace”. Entireresearch work will revolve around this research aim. Further, on the basis of aim researchobjectives will be prepared.Objectives of researchTo identify the extent to which quality management play an important role in enhancingemployee’s productivity.
