INTRODUCTION
Suicidal ideation can be defined as desire of one person to end their own life. England and
Wales are the countries where suicide cases among teenagers are increasing with the rapid speed.
Such young kids want to be dead or want to harm own self (Rodway and et.al., 2016). There are
many reasons of attempting suicide such as depression, mental disorder, loneliness etc. The aim
of present study is to identify reasons of rising suicide rate for children and young people living
in England and Wales. Research will include resources required to answer research questions
effectively. Furthermore, it will gather secondary data and will analyse it. At the end of study
valid recommendation will be given with respect to minimising suicide rate in United Kingdom.

2.1 Match resources to research questions
The main purpose of carrying out this research is to identify the reasons of increasing
suicide cases among children and young people. In order to investigate on this topic scholar is
required many resources, all these resources will be beneficial in answering the research question
significantly.
Rodway and et.al., (2016) stated that over a period of time number of suicide cases of
young kids have been increased to great extent. Around 70% people were male those who got
dead by hanging. It was identified that academic pressure, bullying and bereavement are the
major causes of attempting suicide in such teenagers. Internet uses is another major cause of
their self-harm, as they spend too much time on social networking sites, this make them addicted
to wrong habits which becomes the major cause of death of these people. This article is able to
address the research questions significantly and finding the actual answer of cause of raising
suicide cases among young people and children in England and Wales.
Eskin and et.al., (2016) highlighted that psychological distress is very high among
University students and this stress is the major cause of their self-harm. Research project
highlights that 29% sample have recorded as contemplated suicide and 7% people have found
with attempting suicide. This study has helped researcher in finding relevant answers of research
questions and reaching to end result.

2.2 & 2.3 Undertaking research according to agreed specification and Recording of data
According to Denzin, (2017) secondary research analyses is considered as one of the most
effective way of analysing the data and finding valid results. This technique supports scholar in
reviewing in-depth information and finding answers of research questions significantly.
Secondary data give all detail related to suicide rate in England and Wales and reasons of
committing suicide by these teenagers. This makes the scholar able to make improvement tin
contradictions of data. This is the best research investigation method that aids in finding
authentic and valid results.
As per the view of Pruzan, (2016) interview is the most effective tool of gathering
primary information. By this way scholar can discuss about the issue and can make personal
contact with the person who have huge knowledge about topic. This aids in analysing situation in
most effective manner and finding valid results.
Recording of data has been done properly and all the information which were collected by
respondents have been managed and recorded properly.

3.1 Research evaluation techniques
Research methodology is considered as tools that are used for investigating the study
material systematically. Scholar has to take support of various techniques for gathering
information and evaluating these data properly. One of the main objective of applying these tools
and techniques is to gain familiarity with the topic and identify case effective relationship
between variables (Wiesche and et.al., 2017).
Research philosophy
It is essential part of research technique that concentrates more on developing knowledge
about subject matter. It is the belief of research about the way of gathering information on
particular subject. There are many types of philosophies but it is essential to select the tool by
looking at nature of investigation. Positivism, interpretivism, realism are some philosophies
which are used in research projects and dissertations. Positivismis highly structured tool which is
generally applied in quantitative type of projects, it prepares hypothesis and test these hypotheses
for finding relevant information. Realism is another tool that is used in both qualitative and
quantitative investigations (Denzin, 2017). Interpretivism is the kind of philosophy which is

applies in qualitative type of project. It is the phenomenological approach that helps in finding
information about topic by using theories and models. Present study reason behind increasing
suicide for children and young people has taken assistance of interpretivism philosophy. This has
helped in avoiding complex calculations and finding in-depth information systematically.
Research approach
There are two main approach: deductive and inductive. Inductive is the type of technique
that gathers the data first related to subject matter (Vagle, 2018). Once data is being gathered
then scholar will get bird’s eye on entire data which is collected. By analysing the pattern of
information individual develop theory which helps in conducting this investigation properly.
Whereas deductive is the method in which researcher has to fist frame hypotheses and these
hypotheses is developed by using existing theory. This method carries out an investigation from
general to more specific manner. In the current research on reason behind increasing suicide for
children and young people scholar has taken support of inductive approach, as this methodology
aided in giving more specific knowledge about topic as it is subjective in nature. Narrative
description is done that aided in reaching to end result in significant manner (Pruzan, 2016).
Research design
It is the framework that helps scholar in dealing with research problems in logical
manner. Experimental, correlational, descriptive are many kind of research design. Scholar has
to select particular design on the bases of problem. Descriptive design is the technique that
describe situation or problem in investigation. It is theoretical approach which try to find insight
detail about topic. Experimental design emphases more on cause and effect relationship between
variables. It is practical design that aids in solving the problems by experimental activities.
Correlational design is another kind of method; it is non- experimental in nature which avoid
making assumptions at the time of evaluating relationship (Barquero and Bosch, 2015). In the
present research on reason behind increasing suicide for children and young people scholar has
taken support of descriptive research design. BY this way scholar has got to know more about
why young kids in England and Wales commit suicide and factors that force them to take such
actions. This has aided in finding relevant answers of research questions and dealing with it in
systematic manner.

Data Collection
3
It is most essential part of research project; it can be defined as process of gathering
insight detail from reliable sources for answering the research problem. Primary data collection
is the type of method that emphases on gathering fresh information. Questionnaire, survey,
observation, interview etc. are some primary data collection techniques (de Brún and et.al.,
2016). Secondary data collection is method in which scholar uses already available data and try
to find of answers of problems by using this data. Books, Journals, online portal are some
sources of gathering secondary information. In the present study on reason behind increasing
suicide for children and young people research has applied secondary and primary both data
collection methods. Scholar has used government reports for knowing more about reason of
committing suicide among young people in England and Wales. Furthermore, individual has also
taken interview from psychological counsellors of UK. They daily deal with such patients those
who are in depression and think to harm own self. By taking interview of these people scholar
gets to know the actual cause of committing suicide by teenagers. Both these sources have
helped in finding accurate and in-depth information about topic (Cerrato and et.al., 2017).
Sampling
It is the systematic process of selecting individuals from populations. Researcher has to
select such samples those who have knowledge about topic and can help scholar in finding
relevant answers of research questions. Probability and non-probability are two main types of
sampling process. In probability individual are selected on random bases. Whereas non-
probability is the tool in which biasness is here and there is no equal chances of getting selected
for each sample. In the present study on reason behind increasing suicide for children and young
people scholar has taken assistance of random sampling method (Wiesche and et.al., 2017). The
main advantage of applying this methodology is to avoid biasness and finding accurate data
about reason of committing suicide by young people in England and Wales.
Data Analyses
It is the process of applying logical or statistical tools for evaluating data. In the present
study on reason behind increasing suicide for children and young people scholar has used
secondary analyses technique. Individual has analysed the government report, records of NHS in
order to evaluate the information. By using this method individual has become able to reach to

3.2 Interpretation of results
Interview
What is the normal age group of kids those who are committing suicide?
Interpretation: Interviewee A has replied that preschool teenagers (3-6 year) mostly commit
suicide because they get influenced by TV shows or movies and if their favourite actor do such
kind of thing then they also try such activities. On other hand Interviewee B, C have answered
that adolescents age (13-21 year) people try suicide because of loneliness and lack of love in
their life. Such teenagers get attached with friends and if they do not get love and affection then
they try to ham own self or try suicide. Interviewee D has answered that school age (7-12 Year)
kids mostly commit suicide because they face bully at school by their peer group and this hurt
them a lot. When parents say something for their action or activity then they feel dishearten and
try to harm own self.
Do you think that suicide is being preceded by kids very frequently?
Interpretation: Interview A, B, C have replied that yes suicide is being preceded by young kids,
as they don’t tolerate any trouble and cannot handle complex situations. Whenever they face
negligence from friends or parents then they feel so dishearten and they try to harm own self.
Interviewee D has answered that no young kids are unable to understand anything hence they
don’t precede such activities.
What is the major cause of suicide of young kids?

Suicide rate in Young people
From the secondary sources it is analysed that suicide is considered as one of the major
reason of death among 15-29-year-old people in England and Wales. Statistical records show
that worldwide around 8% young children commit suicide. It is found that most of the people are
involved in self harm before committing suicide. In the year 2014, only five young women were
recorded those who have tried to ham themselves, whereas there were more than 10 young men
who were involved in suicide activities. But over a period of time number of cases have
increased in United Kingdom to great extent. In the year 2014 government has published a
report in which it was highlighted that there are many mental patients who have tried suicide,
because they feel alone and fail to handle their situation properly.

Reason of suicide among young people and children
It is analysed that teenagers are living in depression. Education burden, family pressure
creates issues for them and they fail to handle such kind of situations effectively. In such
condition they sometimes try to harm themselves or sometimes they commit suicide.

should not be. In such condition they sometime chose wrong path that ultimately creates
problems for them. Cyberbullying enhances anxiety and sometime they feel so alone. Such kind
of issues are not shared by them with their family members. Hence such aloneness becomes the
reason of suicide in teenagers. From the secondary resources it is found that many young people
use social networking sites and people those who are spending more time on such kind of sites
they get suicidal thoughts.
Previous researches highlighted that there are 90% of people who were suffering from
mental illness have committed suicide. Depression and impulsivity are the major common
psychological problems face by small children now-a-days. In order to deal with their such kind
of psychological issues they start using alcohol, drugs which adversely affect their physical
health as well. Person who is facing some trouble or living a stressful life may feel sad and
individual occasionally get the thoughts of committing suicide rather than living such stressful
life.
From the secondary analyses it is analysed that gender socialisation is considered as one
of the major reason of developing externalised behaviour. Young children fail to handle such
kind of situations properly and they feel dishearten. Journal of Abnormal Psychology highlights
that depression is the major reason of increasing rate of suicide among young kids and teenagers.
