Introduction
Talent management is the process which refers the concept for making anticipation
which are required to maintain human capital for an organisation and help the organisation to
make a plan for completing basic needs and desire. Talent management is the science which
are useful for making strategic human resource policies to improve the business growth and
to make possible for the companies to reach out to their goals in desired time. The main
reason to choose this topic is that talent management include the process to recruit, retain,
develop and help their employees to perform in the strategic manner. Furthermore it is said
that talent management is focus on relating to the human resource management and their
development process so that the employees of the organisation are accomplish their goals and
serve their customer in best manner (Anaraki Ardakani and et.al., 2018). Many organisation
provide various opportunities for human resource, in both the ways, within and outside the
workplace for researching more innovative talented. Finding the talent management in such a
unique strategic resources, which are useful to achieving sustained competitive advantage and
different organisation which are used by talent management to capture. For completing this
research the chosen organisation is Tesco, which is a multinational company headquartered in
Welwyn Garden City, England. This research is based on finding the roles of HR and it will
help them to implement the talent management within the organisation. Furthermore it
discuss the different strategies which are useful for the growth of company and discuss the
impact of company’s talent management and their performance in the market.
Aim:
To determine the impact of effective talent management strategies on
organisational success and performance. A case study on Tesco.
Objectives:
To assess the role of HR in implementing talent management within
company.

Research rationale
Tesco, which are operating their activity in retail industry. As the competition is increased in
the market at the very high rate. So one of the important topic which are prevailing in the
market is the search of talent management in companies for making them stronger in market.
Tesco build various talent management strategies which are helpful for them in order to
become more successful (Chitu and Russo, 2020). This research is conducting to evaluate the
performance of Tesco and their employees. This research help the investigator to know more
about the strategies of talent management.

To assess the role of HR in implementing talent management within

According to Pavlou, C (2021); the two terms Human resource management and talent
management are interchangeably, even with being altered purposes. As talent management is
the part of Human resource functions, HR attract, select and train the employees of the
organisation which are needed by the company. In Tesco, most of their employees are
suitable and manageable in various different cases. Talent management is the process where
the teams comes and grow in order to manage the objectives of the company. In Tesco, the
charge of talent management are in the hands of HR (Damer, 2020) (Elena, 2017). so the role
of HR in the company while manage talent management is very important and useful for the

described below:

Recruiting: The foundation of talent management is hiring choosing the right people
at right time. This is one of the best recruiting process within the organisation as it
will help the company to make clear goals. With the help of carefully interviewing
applicants to select the strongest candidates.
Performance management: Once the employee are hired, one of the most important
role of HR. HR technology and services are the solutions in the area such as time and
attendance to track their performance and productivity on the regular basis.
Furthermore they can manage the staff and allow their employees to provide feedback
related to services and improve performance (Taylor, 2018).
Career management: Managing the employee and help them to choose their career
path is one of the important aspect of human resource manager. Build on the
information which are collected by the managers to perform and analysis the review
for employee’s strength and interest. In Tesco, the manager are dealing with the
people who are highly skilled and individual contributor then their main aim is to
make their career management in such a critical way that help the talent management
and employee satisfaction both (Goldstein and et.al., 2017).
Leadership development: This is one of the vital part of talent management as once
the performance is set and their targets are achieved then they are shifted to the long
term goals and develop that employee in the best leader.
To examine different talent management strategies
According to Ghosh, P (2021); talent management is not just a checklist for
completing the requirement and for this companies has to make the complete strategic plan
for the improvement of company. There are mainly five strategies are there which are used by
Tesco and discussed here:
Detailed job description: This is needed by most, as companies have to make a
strong and impressive job description. That help the source, by using software and the
candidate must understand the related concept of job role better (Storozhuk and
Zaiarniuk, 2019). This would include job title and location, overall duties and their
roles, skills which are searching by the company for their vacant job role. Another
things like reporting line and different type of tools and equipment used and salary
and benefits are needed by an employee.
Person-organisation fit: An employee who are selected in the organisation are
related to organisational culture and practices. Their nature and culture must be fit in
