AI Summary
This research proposal focuses on the complications of type 1 diabetes among youth. It begins with an outline of the project, highlighting the significance of the study due to the increasing prevalence of the disease. The proposal reviews existing literature on the topic, including the impact on heart and blood vessels, kidney damage, and psychological effects. The aim is to identify the complications faced by youth with type 1 diabetes, with objectives to understand causes, explain complications, describe treatments, and suggest preventative measures. The research methodology involves an interpretivism philosophy with both primary (interviews) and secondary data collection. A research plan outlines activities from topic selection to final submission. The proposal references key studies and journals to support the research and analysis.

RESEARCH PROPOSAL
1.1 Project outline
Type 1 diabetes is also known as insulin dependent diabetes. It is the type of disease in
which pancreas fails to produce insulin (Type 1 diabetes, 2017). Type 1 diabetes is affecting
children and adults to great extent. It could be occur due to genetic issue or poor environmental
conditions. Type 1 diabetes creates major complications for the individual body and negatively
affect organs of human. Complications that may arise due to type 1 diabetes are such as heart
diseases, nerve damages, Kidney damages, eye damages etc. In such condition youth feel so
dishearten and they fail to live a healthy life (Type 1 Diabetes, 2017.
1.2 Factors that contribute for conducting this research
The main reason of carrying out the investigation is that individual has experience to
work in the health and social care sector. So this knowledge can be beneficial in understanding
the basic concepts and conducting this study in effective manner. Another reason of carrying out
the study is that adequate data is available on the topic type 1 diabetes among youth. Thus,
individual can develop deep understanding about the subject matter and can complete it
significantly (Zung and et.al, 2017). Furthermore, in the recent time type 1 diabetes has become
the major problem for the country because many young people are suffering from the disease. It
is essential to find out the rout because of the problems so that proper ways can be find out to
prevent people from this medical illness. It is the interesting topic for researcher and burning
issue because UK is facing this problem where number of type 1 diabetes young people are
increasing day by day (Hakola and et.al,2018).
Significance of the study
This study will be beneficial for the scholar in identifying the rout cause of the problem
so that majority of youth can be prevented from suffering from type 1 diabetes. Furthermore, it
will be beneficial for the government for the nation because they will get to know loop fall in
their strategies so that they can arrange more health programs to aware people from this issue
and its treatment procedures (Skrivarhaug and et.al, 2014). In addition, it would be beneficial for
the other scholars because they will get brief idea about complications that arise in front of youth
those who suffer from type 1 diabetes (Chopra and Narang, 2017).

1.3 Critical review
As per the view of Pollanen and et.al, (2017) heart and blood vessel disease occurs in the
young people if they are suffering from type 1 diabetes. Due to this problem others issues such as
cardiovascular problems arise in the human body. Due to this individual may face heart attack,
stroke, high blood pressure etc. problems. In addition, neuropathy is another major issue that is
arise in the people those who are suffering from type 1 diabetes. As in such problem body of the
human fails to produce insulin due to which blood sugar level gets increased. Poorly controlled
blood sugar cause difficulty for limbs and other body parts as well Dabelea and et.al, (2014)
argued that the major complications face by young people due to type 1 diabetes is kidney
damages. The person who is having sugar their kidney may fail to perform their work
effectively.
According to Skrivarhaug and et.al, (2014) diabetes create difficult for moth and skin as
well. If the individual is suffering from this issue then gum and dry mouth type of disease may
occur in the body. The main cause of this issue is genetic problems. If parents are suffering from
sugar then there are high chances for children to suffer from the same problem. Pollanen and
et.al, (2017) stated that when young people get to know that they are suffering from disease then
their moral get down and they fail to perform their daily work effectively. They feel under
confidence. Some times children becomes highly depended upon their parents after knowing the
fact that they are suffering from type 1 diabetes. As per the view of Zung and et.al, (2017) in the
recent time parents make their children strong, they give moral support to them so that their child
feel confident. Thus, whenever individual diagnose with type 1 diabetes then parental support
helps them in living their life normally and they take it as challenge (Pilek and Starkman, 2014).
AIM AND OBJECTIVES
Aim
“To identify complications faced by youth those who are suffering with type 1 diabetes”
Objectives
To understand the causes of type 1 diabetes among youth.
To explain complications that are faced by youth when they suffer from type 1 diabetes.
To describe treatment procedure for type 1 diabetes.
To suggest ways through which individual can prevent themselves from suffering from
type 1 diabetes.

1.4 Research Project Specification
Research methodology is the tools and techniques that are used by the researcher to
complete the investigation in effective manner. In the present research scholar will take support
of interpretivism philosophy. As it would be qualitative in nature thus, individual will use
theories and models to complete this investigation (Type 1 diabetes, 2017). In addition, scholar
will collect information from primary and secondary sources. In the primary data collection
source individual will use interview techniques, quantitative data will be collected by asking
same quetsions. Interview will be taken from parents of those children those who are suffering
from type 1 diabetes. On other hand scholar will also take support of secondary data collection
sources. Individual will gather details about the topic from books, journals, internet articles etc.
Both these tools will support the researcher in conducting this investigation in effective manner.
Furthermore, for analysing the data research will apply thematic data analysis technique. By
using graphs, charts individual will be able to present the details in effective manner.
Primary research Secondary research
Data collected By researcher Through books, journals,
internet articles
Method used to collect data Interview Review of existing data
Key benefit It helps in getting current
information of health and
social care sector.
It helps in analysing the issues
in the HSC.
Disadvantage It is time consuming process It does not give current details
about the situation.
