objective or hypothesis:
Concept of workplace discrimination
On the basis of BRITTANY FUHS (2020), Discrimination at the workplace happens when
supervisors take some action against an employee who is working because of certain
characteristics such as age, colour etc. In an organisation, if someone treat differently then they
possess the various characteristics to the other employees then it is unlawful. The direct
discrimination occurs when in an organisation, employee is treated in less unfavourable manner
as comparison to others.
Impact of workplace discrimination on performance level of Starbucks staff member's.
According to Abhijeet Pratap (2018) Discrimination result in and also reinforces the
inequalities that could be the poor employee morale, poor commitment and high turnover that
negatively impact on performance level of an organisation. In context to Starbucks, Meseret
Kumulchew is a employee of Starbucks and accused of the fraud as employer claimed that she
was falsifying the documents after mistakenly entered the incorrect information when recording
the fridge temperature. After this, employer given her less duties and also taking away from
supervisor position. That employee took Starbucks to employment tribunal for the disability

Section Five: Research approach and methodologies
What type of research approach and methodologies are you likely to
use and why? What your areas of research will cover:
In conducting the research methodology part, research onion has been used by consisting the
different layers. Research onion is given below:
Research Philosophy
This refers to set of beliefs that are to be examined concerning the nature of truth. This may
vary with respect to research goals and a better way of achieving them. Interpretivism and
positivism are different philosophies of research. In present investigation, researcher will use
the interpretivism philosophy because this assist in analyse the opinion and viewpoint of
authors for getting positive outcomes.
Research approaches
Deductive and inductive are two different research approaches which helps in conducting the
research in an effective manner. In given research, inductive research approach will be used
because this starts with the observation and also get the positive outcomes.
Research Strategies
This outlines how the investigative work should be done. There are various types of research
strategies such as case study, action research, surveys etc. The research will use survey
strategies because this assist in collect information and data from a large number of
respondents and also analyse their views.
Research Choice
This research onion layer combines quantitative and qualitative methodology. In present
investigation, investigator will use the qualitative method because this gives detailed
explanation regarding the particular area and in a theoretical manner.
Data collection

methods are helpful in successfully collect data with the aid of credible sources. Using the
questionnaire in the primary method will be used to gather information. Developing graphs and
themes will use the thematic analysis approach to interpret collected information.
Sampling
Probabilistic and non- probabilistic are two different kinds of sampling methods. Random
sampling method will be used in probabilistic sampling and chose 30 respondents.
