Topic: A study on exploring the effects of organisational culture and workplace diversity on
employee behaviour
Introduction
Organisational culture plays an integral role in empowering the work that is being
conducted by the workforce while influencing their attitude or outlook towards the process. In
this relation, most of the business leaders consider the HR best practices with the purpose of
establishing a positive organizational culture. According to Ogbeibu, Senadjki and Gaskin
(2018), the employees’ behaviour towards an organization or the work specifically influence
their performance through increasing their active engagement in the different progressive
measures that are being planned by the business. However, Al-Shurafa and Halim (2018) opined
that most of the employers take the initiative of developing a customer centric model with the
purpose of boosting the firm’s profit centric objectives. The reliance of the business on the profit
centric objectives might create a situation of exploitation for the employees. Guillaume et al.
(2017) observed that even though a firm is focused on meeting its profit centric goals, the leaders
might still manage to empower the employees’ interest through transparency of communication,
sufficient remuneration and support.
On the other hand, Kubicek, Bhanugopan and O’Neill (2019) opined that workplace
diversity might be taken as one of the major aspects through which the behaviour of the
employees might be influenced. The inclusion of diverse population might result to clashes and
affect the job experience for some of the employees. On the other hand, the workplace diversity
might empower collaboration and build on the intention for work among the employees,
influencing their behaviour. Therefore, the research will take the initiative of identifying the
effect of organizational culture and workplace diversity on employees’ behaviour. In this

connection, the research will take the initiative of delving deeper into the concerns that might be
encountered by the organizations while influencing the employees’ behaviour through
improvisations on the organizational culture and workplace diversity related moves.
Aim of the study
The aim of undertaking the study will be to evaluate the effect of organizational culture
and workplace diversity on employees’ behaviour
Objectives of the study
The objectives for conducting the study will be:
To identify the effect of organizational culture on employee behaviour in an organization
To assess the influence of workplace diversity on employee behaviour and work
intentions
To evaluate the overall correlation between organizational culture, workplace diversity
and employee behaviour towards work
To suggest recommended activities to organizations for improving cultural aspects while
including workplace diversity for influencing employee behaviour
Research questions
The research questions will be:
What is the effect of organizational culture on employee behaviour in an organization?
How does workplace diversity influence employee behaviour and work intentions?
What is the overall correlation between organizational culture, workplace diversity and
employee behaviour towards work?

What are the recommended activities that might be considered by organizations for
improving their cultural aspects while including workplace diversity for influencing

Hypothesis
H1 – Organizational culture and Workplace diversity has a potential impact on Employees’
behaviour
H0 - Organizational culture and Workplace diversity has no potential impact on Employees’
behaviour
Theoretical background and research focus
Organizational culture and diverse workplace are the major considerations that might be
made by a leader with the purpose of ensuring employees’ behaviour. Organizational objectives-
goals, the workplace environment and collaboration are the major factors that specifically
empower behavioural changes among the employees. However, it has been noticed that most of
the organizations have failed to adhere to employees’ need of balancing between their work and
life due to the need of increasing their firm’s productivity (Hsieh et al. 2018). Therefore, the
discussion will develop an assessment of the different factor conditions that might empower the
employees’ behaviour in an organization on the basis of organizational culture and workplace
diversity. Factor conditions like transparency of communication, leadership approach,
motivation, the workplaces’ environment and the overall trust on the job security will be
discussed in the research for evaluating the manner in which it affects the rate of job satisfaction
among the employees (Ng and Sears 2018).
