1RESEARCH PROPOSAL
Project Title
To analyse and understand the practice of diversity management in health care settings and
NHS care homes.
Aims and objective
This research aims to analyse diversity management in health care. NHS intends to
promote healthier lives and provides the necessary treatment. The NHS has a team that
supports a diverse health care system. Therefore, NHS recommends and promotes care home
for people who are in complex medical conditions and needs assistance. The care homes are
of two types, those are residential homes and nursing homes.This research would focus on the
impact of diversity management in healthcare as its impact on the practical health outcomes
of patients. It would help in understanding the importance of diversity management in NHS
care homes inthe UK and also analyse how it is directly concerning bringing positive health
outcomes of patients.
The research objectives are:
To evaluate the impact of effective diversity management at NHS care homes in the
UK
To find out the relation between enhanced diversity and health outcomes of the
patient.
To suggest the probable means or measures by which the NHS care home can quickly
figure out the various means of enhancing the diversity management that would
directly result in positive outcomes of health services and increased in quality of the
NHS care home in the UK.

2RESEARCH PROPOSAL
Literature review
The NHS care home in the UK is for individuals who live alone or find it challenging
to take care of themselves in any complex or health consequences. If the individual needs
continuous assistance or any special attention, then cares home are the best alternatives for
them to access quality health services. According to nhs.uk(2020), generally, residential
homes and nursing homes are the primary two types ofcare home. Some care homes offer
both the facilities of residential and nursing care homes. Besides, some of the care runs by
charity or any voluntary organisation and any local councils. A residential home provides
accommodation to people with multiple services such as washing, dressing, assisting in
medications, and moving to the toilet. This care focuses more on providing personal care. On
the contrary, nursing homes also offer personnel care. However, they focus more on
providing nursing care to the patients. There will be a minimum of one qualified nurse on
duty for the administration of nursing care. They also offerspecialised services for people
with severe learning disabilities or any physical disabilities.
Diversity management is a concept of valuing differences among people, and it
includes both healthcare providers and healthcare seekers. It focuses on reducing
discrimination among the people as the term diversity itself means differences or varieties
(Rahman 2019). The differences include sex, ethnicity, religion, age, race, and any other
socio-demographic characteristics (Kulik 2014). Patients or individuals admitted in the
healthcare organisation are from multiple diverse cultures and therefore, effective diversity
management is necessary by the healthcare leaders or senior management (Khan et al. 2015).
The leadership includes multiple styles for efficiently manage the diversity in the healthcare.
Effective diversity management in health care settings or any health care organisation
increases the effective health services and enhances the quality of the services (Gomez and
Bernet 2019).Healthcare leaders play an essential role in delivering and formulating an
