Project title
The research title of this research is to address the role of strategic leadership in promoting
environmental sustainability in context of ADNOC, Abu Dhabi.
Research Background
In the current scenario, the strategic leadership is imperative for promoting environmental
sustainability. An organization can effectively use the leadership style to improve the
performance of the organization as well as the growth. The human resource department needs
to focus on both strategic leadership and environmental sustainability as it will be effective to
improve the performance of the organization (Epstein, and Buhovac, 2014). The major aim of
strategic leadership is to influence a large number of consumers towards the organization
through environmental sustainability. Moreover, the primary aim of this research study is to
address the role of strategic leadership in promoting the environmental sustainability for the
case study of ADNOC, Abu Dhabi. Moreover, there are many reasons that motivate the
research scholar to conduct their research on particular matter such as the significance of the
research study, data availability, and lack of research (Grant, 2016).
Research aim and objectives
The primary aim of this research study is to find out the role of strategic leadership in
promoting the environmental sustainability: In context of ADNOC, Abu Dhabi.
 To understand the meaning and concept of strategic leadership and environmental
sustainability in context of ADNOC, Abu Dhabi.

According to the Klettner, Clarke, and Boersma, (2014) the strategic leadership consist of the
implementation of different management style and establish a vision for an organization. It
allows the manager to obtain the competitive advantages and manage in the technical and
economic changes. The strategic leaders are capable to apply this vision to inspire their
employees and evaluate the sense of direction and unity among them as it would be effective
to effective deal with technical and economic variations.
In support to this, Wheelen, and Hunger (2017) stated that the strategic leadership could also
determine as an implementing the effective strategy in controlling or directing of their
employees. It is significant to attract organizational associates and to improve the
organizational performance. The strategic leader can also be capable to make a clear or
flexible atmosphere at the working place and obtain the feasible outcome.
As per the view of Christensen, Mackey, and Whetten, (2014) the environmental
sustainability consists of making the decision and taking acts, which could be associated with
protecting the natural sources and preserve the environmental capability to support the human
life. In the current scenario, it is an important for organization that they focus on the factor

To address the role of strategic leadership in promoting the environmental
sustainability in context of ADNOC, Abu Dhabi

environmental sustainability. In the organization, the strategic leader might determine the
environmental sustainability. A strategic leader can collect the perception towards the

A strategic leader of ADNOC, Abu Dhabi should consider many factors to improve their

creation, employee compensation, and managerial communication. Apart from this, a

For the research, a researcher will use research methodology and investigate the appropriate
data collection methods in the context of ADNOC, Abu Dhabi. In the research methodology,
different kinds of methods are considered like research strategy, research approach, research
philosophy, data collection method, data analysis method, sampling, research limitation, and
ethical consideration (Johannsdottir, et al., 2015). Consequently, it will permit the research
scholar to apply the suitable data collection method in the research study to attain the
specified research objectives. The research methods are demonstrated as below:
Research Philosophy
In the research study, the research philosophy is supportive for research scholar to collect

Research philosophy includes two kinds of philosophies like Realism, Interpretivism, and

and reliable result. In this, a research scholar will use qualitative research strategy to collect
