Topic: “To examine the impact of Merger & acquisition, as a global market entry mode,on retail sector firms in terms of customer base enhancement and sales performance: Astudy on Tesco”.Background of the studyIn the present era, globalization is recognized as a phenomenon which in turnincreases economic integration among nations to a great extent. It facilitates movement ofpeople, ideas, social customs and product across the regional or national boundaries. Fromthe perspective of economic growth and development globalization strategy proves to bemore fruitful (Giddens, 2018). Hence, after globalization, it becomes easy for businessentities to explore their operations internationally and thereby attain benefits from the same.In this context, joint venture, franchising, mergers etc are the modes which firm canundertake for operating globally. The present report is based on Tesco which offers widerange of retail products or services to the customers at affordable prices. In this, report willprovide deeper insight about the extent to which M&A, as a market entry mode, enhancesrevenue, Further, it will also shed light on the methodology which helps in analyzing theimpact of M&A on customer base enhancement.
