years) obesity in London”.
Introduction Obesity a complex and critical disease which involves an excess amount
is body fat. Obesity is a medical problem that increases the risk for
human beings to get into contact and entangled with other diseases and
health problems like diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure and
cancer. Opacity can be caused due to several factors but it is generally
caused by eating a lot of food and making very little body movements.
Obesity in childhood is a very serious medical condition that affects
children and adolescents. It creates a lot of trouble because of the extra
pounds often start collecting creating several health problems for the
child suffering from it. Due to obesity the diseases which were once
known as adult problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure are
now being found in in children's aging 12 years and even 5 years. The
research study will be revolving around the problem of obesity
children's are facing in early years of their childhood as well as the
impacts imposed by governments interventions. The research proposal
will be acting as an outline of the entire research project. The research
proposal will be demonstrating the nationals for choosing the respective
topic for the study. Along with it research methodology that is the
processes and the techniques which will be used by researcher for
collecting appropriate information and developing informed conclusions
at the end are determined and described as well. At the end timeline is
also produced for the project which will be determining the time frames
of the entire research project and specific dates for every activity to be
conducted and when it will be ending.

study
Background:
The research agenda for the topic on which the in-depth studies will be
conducted is to identify the impacts which is being imposed by the
governments interventions developed for fighting Obesity cases in
children aging 5 to 12 years. The research study is critically focus upon
the interventions developed and their results over the population of
London that is children of 5 to 12 years of age living in London. The
research will be conducted for addressing number of questions and for
completing the objectives of the study. The entire project will be
completed with the help of different research tools and techniques along
with using various methods of collecting appropriate data and making
productive conclusions out of it for supporting the end outcome of the
study. Obesity is becoming a serious concern for different generations
now and specifically for children’s as it is making them vulnerable and
attacking their safety and a possibility live a healthy life. The research
topic is revolving around the impact of interventions introduced by
government in London for children’s ageing from 5 to 12 years.
Rational:
The main reason behind conducting the study on the respective topic of
obesity and the government intervention as well as their helpfulness for
children’s is to identify more critical facts and figures relating to the
disease. Also the scope of the research study is very productive and
wide through it number of people that is the targeted audiences will be
benefited buy fresh and updated knowledge they will be receiving in
regards to the respective topic. The entire research will be conducted
with the help of primary and secondary data where literatures of
different writers and experts will be used for correcting factual
information and then with the help of questionnaire statistical data can
be stored for making comparison and extracting effective conclusions.

Justifications
Research methodology is defined as a contextual framework for
conducting a study in a coherent and logical manner where views,
belief’s and values are considered which enables the investigator for the
researchers walk on an appropriate path and adopt appropriate choices
of their study. Research methodology refers to the practice of how a
respective piece of study will be examined and evaluated for reaching to
utmost appropriate results. Research methodology basically guides the
parts of the investigator towards a correct approach by making effective
choices enabling them in collecting enough evidence for their study.
There are several aspects which are considered in regards to a research
methodology which are basically certain step by step stages that are
normally followed by researchers. These are as follows:
 Research philosophy- The first step which is is adopted by the
investigator and that is led by the research methodology is to
identify an appropriate philosophy for the study. Research
philosophy refers to the specific set of principles that are
concerning with the particular situation or the world wide or a
hole viewpoint through which the research should be or will be
conducted. There are two types of research philosophies
positivism and interpretivism. In regards to the respective study
positivism research philosophy will be used by the investigator
as it will provide more scientific approach to the investigator
and help in testing phenomenon’s. On the other hand Interpol

tourism is a research philosophy which is qualitative in nature
but the present study is based on both qualitative and
quantitative analysis.
 Research approach- The next step which will be commonly
chosen and taken by the researcher for the study is to identify an
appropriate research approach and the methodology for
completing the study in an effective manner. The research
approaches are also of two types inductive and deductive. In
regards to the respective study deductive research approach is
choosing for completing the study. The reason behind the same
is that deductive approach of research begins with specific
hypothesis that is developed with the help of reviewing different
literature which are already observed by other researchers in the
past and then test these hypothesis by using primary information
for collecting primary data in respect of the topic. On the other
hand the inductive study focuses over observations which are
then used by the investigator to develop an entirely new theory
and this approach is not appropriate for the current study that is
being conducted.
 Research strategy- The research strategy is an important aspect
where after developing the appropriate philosophy and approach
of the study now the student or the investigator have to develop
an appropriate action plan for strategy for completing the study
in the most constructive manner. There are various different
types of strategies which are used by investigators that are
experimental research, action research, interviews, case study
analysis and survey and also systematic literature review. As the
research study is based on both qualitative and quantitative data
as well as practices for the particular project literature review
and survey are the two strategies which will be used. The
literature review will enable the investigator in collecting

secondary data where different factual hypothesis will be
examined and analysed. With the help of survey will be used to
collect primary data and developing new hypothesis for making
for the comparison in both and making appropriate observations.
Both the form of strategies are helpful and very important for the
study to be conducted is quantitative and qualitative both form of
data is important for making a detailed analysis of the research
area and accomplish different objectives of the study developed
in the very beginning at the initiation stage of the project.
 Choice of methods- The choice of methods is the fourth of the
research methodology which indicates towards different methods
a researcher can use and will be using for the project in order to
complete it in the most valuable manner by using exact and
helpful tools. There are three different types of choice of
methods that are mono method, mixed method and multi
method. These methods reflects upon the possible choices have
for conducting and completing the research. Here, mono method
refers to one method for study which the researcher may use.
The mixed method refers to the use of two different method of
study. Last the multi-method refers to use of more than two
methods for the research. For the investigation researcher will be
using mixed method as both quantitative and qualitative research
study is conducted and tools of both are being used.
 Time Horizon- Time is a very important factor for different
forms of studies. Hence it is also important for the respective
research as well. The time horizon element of the research
methodology refers to the time frame of the investigation.
Generally the observation or the study time depends upon two
horizon that are cross sectional and longitudinal. In regards to
the particular research project cross sectional data is used. The
reason behind using the cross-sectional data is, it is used when

observations for the study are for a single point of time which is
commonly the condition for conducting a survey. Therefore, this
study is also dependent upon cross sectional time frame and
observations.
 Data collection and Analysis- This is one of the most important
and crucial decision which is made by the research of in which
hold important hand in success or failure of the study. Data
collection refers to the methods or techniques which will be
used or being helpful to the investigator in gathering enough and
the most relevant information for backing up and collecting
appropriate proof for the study to support the conclusions at the
end. Therefore there are commonly two types of Data collection
methods which are used by the researchers that our primary and
secondary sources. Introspective study both of these sources will
be used for collecting and gathering the most relevant data. In
regards to collect secondary information the Tool named
literature review will be used where study of different writers
will be examined for or observing the hypothesis. And then with
the help of questionnaire new hypothesis will be developed for
making comparisons and developing appropriate outcomes of
the investigation.
Reflection The proposal which I developed revolves around a certain topic of the
study that is the impact of different interventions developed by
government for children’s ageing 5 to 12 and all fighting from obesity
and suffering due to it. I am actually very glad and happy that I got an
opportunity to conduct this study and to begin it with an appropriate
step of developing an outline for the study. In simple words I am glad to
conduct the study and that I got a proper guidance the proposal where I
determined different stages and steps which will be taken for completing
the research project in appropriate time with accomplishment of
different objectives developed.

As in the beginning like every project I developed certain objectives for
the research. it is very important for a researcher to develop certain
agendas for the research in order to take stepwise approach and
accomplish those objectives in respective time and then make
contribution to the ultimate agenda of the study. I adopted the same
approach and narrow down the topic of my research and developed and
aim and from that I further narrowed it down into three simple
objectives which will enable me to contribute by step to the ultimate
agenda of the research work.
Then while doing the research proposal I came across with another
important aspect of a research study and of conducting a very
productive investigation that is research methodology. This is an
appropriate framework which assisted me to identify a effective and
productive path for completing my work by keeping the focus over the
ultimate agenda. The research methodology will enable me to undertake
appropriate steps to make use of appropriate tools for completing my
work in the right manner with the right it set of tools and principles.
Therefore, I am really glad and found this a great opportunity for me to
learn further and in-depth about different aspects of conducting a
research. This research proposal help me in giving more protective and
important research skills that are going to be essential and helpful for
me to conduct my study and complete my Indira project in a successful
manna with productive results and outcomes. Also while making the
research proposal I came across certain challenges that are normally
faced by different researchers while conducting the study and it will
help me in being prepared to face the challenges when I will be
completing my investigation in regards to my study topic and agenda.
