1 Running Head:RESEARCH QUESTIONS IN AGRICULTURE Problem statement The problem statement or topic on which the research is needed is related to the social as well as the agro-economic obstacles faced by the farmers holding small amount of land in the country of Pakistan. These problems are lowering the agricultural productivity in Pakistan. This is the reason why a research is required to be conducted. This research study will attempt to delve deep into this problem and find out the probable solutions that may assist small farmers in Pakistan to learn and apply scientific and advanced technologies in farming (Khan and Khan 2018). Research aims The aim of this research is to find out what are the social barriers for which the small farmers in Pakistan are unable to learn and apply latest technologies used in farming. Another objective of this research paper is to look at the agro-economic factors that are hindering the small farmers to adopt scientific technologies. This research paper also aims to find out a set of solutions of this problem (Elahi2018). Research questions 1. What are the social barriers that are hindering farmers from adopting new technologies of farming? 2. What are the agro-economic barriers that are hindering farmers from adopting new technologies of farming? 3. What are the initiatives of Pakistan government in this regard? 4. How successful are the initiatives? 5. What can be done to ensure the success of those initiatives?
