tools and agendas that are used and that supports the work while completing the
work and related activities of the research. The present work is conducted on the
chosen topic of “The Popularity of electronic vehicles in the United
Kingdom”. The research is conducted with the help of literature reviews and the
reliability and relevance of the sources are determined and examined too in the
report.

Introduction to the topic
Electric vehicles refer as Ultra low emissions vehicles that runs on
electricity all time. This vehicle uses electric motors to drive their wheels. Electric
cars help to improve the air quality, reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution.
The electric cars marketing is growing rapidly, UK is among Europe's largest
market for sale of electric vehicles. Hybrid and Plug-in electric cars are increased
over 10% of car registrations in the UK in 2020. The main concerns among the
new car intenders for purchasing of electric cars are its high costs and charging
times.
There were more than 26,300 charge stations which are available in UK.
The sale of new cars that runs on diesel and petrol will be banned in 2030 in UK,
although new hybrid will be legal until 2035. The manufactures have said they
are confident that, they will meet their target of carbon reduction; even some
have paid others to lower their average carbon emissions artificially. With the
increased supply of hybrid and electric cars, the new models being launched with

are based on the topic and its aim and the description of the data presented is as

reputed brands are entering or have entered into the sector and is being planning
to enter.

project. The researcher aim in primary research is to answer the questions that
haven't been answered before. Secondary research involves the literature and
synthesis of data that has been published and organised by others. In secondary
research the researcher analyse data from primary research sources. In this
project report, researcher used secondary research. The process which is used
to select the literature and data are divided into four steps:
 Firstly, the subject and the scope of the review must be defined properly.

to the understanding of topic.
 Analyse and interpret the sources that is selected and discuss the findings
and conclusions of it. Reliable sources are the one that provides a well

evidence. There are several criteria to determine whether the data is
reputable and reliable or not (Subekti and et. al., 2018).
◦ Accurateness- The researcher should verify the information that is
already known by them against the information found in the source. The
information related to the source should be trustworthy, the researcher
should cross check the information against the sources.
◦ Authority- The researcher should make sure that the data should be
written by the trustworthy author. Also check the copyright statement
which is near the bottom of the page and if using web page the
publisher by the URL must be identified. The researcher have to make
sure that the author has proper credentials on the subject matter.
◦ Coverage- The researcher have to identify its relevance to the topic
whether it is addressing the subject matter or not. They have to make
sure that it provide enough information that discusses the matter in
depth. For example, If the researcher wants charts or graphs try to find
a source that helps in providing these.

developing three agendas in which the first one is to determine the notion of
Electric Vehicles, then the benefits associated with it and which are enjoyed by
people and the last one is the challenges which are faced by the user of electric

research is used for completing the research and gathering all the evident
information through it.
The first literature that is online source which is used is for offering a clear
image of what exactly electric vehicles are and how efficient they are for the
society. The author in the literature showcased the support of the government
which it provide to the manufacturing of electric vehicles and making the best use
of resources as well as offering the appropriate opportunities to people for
making the changing environment of the industry work (Sever, Öncül and Ersoy,
2019).
The second literature was revolving around the use of and benefit of the
electric vehicle to the society, to the user and to the economy. It elaborated over
the less of cost consumption by the product while manufacturing and for the user
in maintenance. The research article highlighted the help and benefit the
resource of electric vehicle provide to the public and the society, environment
and the world in reducing carbon gas emissions and supporting environment.
The third and the last literature was identifying the challenges and risk
associated to the population of United Kingdom using electric vehicle or planning
to use in future. The most significant challenge is the lack of battery power of
these cars which lacks their efficiency and cannot be used for long drives.

The relevance and reliability of the literature sources is an important and
necessary notion for a research and for the researcher to make the best
outcomes and evident conclusions on the data presented. The online sources

Reflections on your own learning during the research.
I have chosen the topic of electric vehicles and their popularity in the
United Kingdom for my research. I am really glad that I got this opportunity to
gather more knowledge and information on the subject area as I am really fond of
cars and rapid innovation taking place in the industry specifically in the area of
electric vehicles. Thus the chosen topic of the research is very close to me.
When it comes to my personal learning through the research project, it is huge
and very beneficial (Pearlson, Saunders and Galletta, 2019).
As a learner the very first development which experienced is self-growth
where is identified through the research that my data collection skills are very
effective but I need to work on my critical evaluation and thinking skills. Moving

along I faced varied challenges as well while I was reviewing the literatures and
online sources through which I have conducted my research. The work of
reviewing the perspectives of different authors was new for me and I was pretty
much unaware of the facts about how to perform the same. Hence, I made use of
my skills and conducted the research by using internet and secondary data.
