INTRODUCTION
The global pandemic has created a huge impact on the overall economy. COVID- 19 is
the major reason behind creating an adverse impact on the health and overall economic
conditions of all countries. Due to high transferability of this deadly virus, the use of Personal
Protective Equipments (PPE) will be helpful in protecting the users against health and safety risk
which can be exposed at work. This research will define the research policy on health care which
has been planned by the government of UK. These research will outline the PPE policy which
will help personnel and health care professionals and will reflect the comparison in papers.
TASK A
Introduction of topic
The PPE policy of United Kingdom is related to personal protective equipment which are
helpful in development of a strategy. The government and authorities of UK needs to meet their
duties of planning and implementing the PPE policy through which they can ensure safety of
health care and other professional who are are exposed to virus. The implementation of PPE
policy in major parts of UK will set up effective and beneficial norms and policies which will be
beneficial for the safety an security of professional at workplace. Such policies will be helpful in
ensuring low transmission of virus.(Atkinson and et.al, 2020). The PPE kit are considered as
main type of equipment and safety measure which prevents and safeguards professionals from
risk of virus transmission at their workplace. Also with the help of Personal protective
equipment, the risk of transmission of COVID-19 virus which is hazardous can be easily
avoided. Most of the successful countries are involved in development of a precise policy related
to PPE kit for long term growth of country.
The medical facilities are day by day enhancing with support of government and its
policies. Personal protective kits are considered as major source of developing a protection based
kit for medical practitioners. The country should also develop people welfare community with
the help of government through which various safety measures and guidelines, such as
regulations on the use of PPE kits at workplace can be formed that will support in avoiding the
transmission of virus at larger scale (Bielicki and et.al, 2020). It is the key responsibility of
government which must focus on planning and ensuring successful implementation of PPE
policies and use of PPE kits through which practitioners and people at front line can be offered

safety while meeting their duties at workplace. By regulating strict guidelines and protocols from
the authorities of UK, this will encourage and ensure the use of PPE kit through which the
transmission of virus can be decreased and avoided. As the government and various public
organization has been engaged in enhancing the awareness for PPE kits, this will encourage
companies in forming policies and ensure successful execution of these policies through which
transmission of virus can be restricted at workplace. This is also a major and ethical duty of
citizens to follow medical policy and plan of government related to PPE kits.
A background to the topic
In the year 2019, with a major spread of COVID-19, this affected millions of individuals
from the virus. In order to ensure safety of practitioners, it was essential to bring safety measures
where distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) kits can be helpful in restricting the
transmission and maintaining safety of workers. The countries thus decided to promote use of
PPE kits in hospitals by regulating the guidelines (Chou and et.al, 2020). In UK, due to incline in
demand of PPE kits, there were different unethical practices which were followed while
distributing the PPE kits to various hospitals and institutions. Various government based health
organisations also focused on development of planning framework for effectively distribution
PPE kits. PPE kits are mandatory to wear in hospitals in order avoid transmission of virus to
individuals which will be helpful in limiting the negative impact of the global pandemic,
COVID-19.
It is also majorly important for the government to distribute PPE kits with utmost
responsibility for establishment of effective care and treatment. In order to stop the spread of
COVID-19 in a major sense, it was crucial for the government to implement PPE kit based
policy for utmost care of the medical practitioners and social workers. The COVID-19 pandemic
is now forcing government to revise its PPE kits policy as demand of PPE kit is increasing day
by day (Baker and et.al, 2021). All major countries should focus on analysing impact of COVID-
19 and should manufacture PPE kit accordingly through which demands can be regularly met.
Moreover, this topic will define the use and development of polices related to PPE kits which
will assist companies and professionals who are directly exposed to the virus to follow these
safety measures. Such policies and protocols will be helpful in maintaining safety while meeting
the roles and responsibility of the professionals.

Article-1: Coronavirus (COVID-19): personal protective equipments (PPE) hub
This article states that the use of PPE kits will be helpful in maintaining the safety of
health acre and social workers. This will also help in avoiding the direct contact of such
professionals with individuals who are infected with the virus. This article of Public Health
England states that the use of PPE kits must be mandatory for professionals working in
healthcare and social setting. As per the article, the healthcare and social workers are directly
exposed to the risk and threat of this deadly virus as COVID can be highly transmitted (Pallett
and et.al, 2020). Therefore, the article defines the guidance which reflect the information related
to information on personal protective equipments (PPE) kits and infection prevention and control
(IPC).
As the sustained transmission of COVID-19 across UK has taken place in country, in
order to maintain the safety and security of people and workers of healthcare and social setting,
various guidelines and use of PPE kits was regulated. The article states that PPE will be
delivered to frontliners who are actively responding to coronavirus (COVID-19). The article
states the plan where the authorities focused on guidance, distribution and future supply. As per
the article, health ad social care setting workers are responsible for offering treatments and care
to these who have been exposed to the virus and due to prolonged contact, this can make such
practitioners face huge risk and threat of virus.

According to this article, the purpose of using PPE kits will be helpful in protecting the
employees from exposure to work. The company, Employ My Ability states in the article that the
use of PPE kits is the safety measure which will be helpful in offering protection and maintaining
safety of employees from hazards. As per this article, the company will provide PPE equipment
where they will focus on ensuring all employees are using the kits through which they ca avoid
transmission of such virus (Hudson, 2015). The policy of Personal Protective Equipment which
is followed by Employ My Ability, involves: responsibilities of employees and supervisors, PPE
selection, employee training and maintenance of PPE. A per the article, operations lead will e
playing the role of safety person where they will focus on implement ion and administration f
PPE policies in the organization.

As per the article, the role of managers is to meet their responsibilities of implementing
and enforcing the use of PPE polices in their organization. Whereas, the employees are
responsible to meet various criteria, which are- they must wear PPE properly as required, must
attend training sessions, take proper care and ensure right maintenance of PPE as required
(McGilton and et.al, 2020). In accordance to the article, there will be a set of procedures which
will be followed by the company meet PPE policy standards. The procedures are related to
hazards assessment for PPE, selection of PPE, training to employees through which they can
make proper sue of PPE kits, retrain employees when they lack the understanding and skills for
using PPE. The article states that PPE must be kept clean and properly maintained which will
ensure that the PPE kits are maintained in good conditions.

the information on personal protective equipment which can be helpful in ensuring safety and
exposure from deadly virus, COVID-19. As per this article, the spread of this virus has been
spreading rapidly all around the globe (COVID-19: PPE hub, 2020). As the health and social
care professionals are more exposed to this virus, this can make the face higher risk which can
hamper their health and personal lives. In order to protect such professionals from the virus, the
use of personal protective equipment can be helpful in securing a chance of being safe and
protected from direct exposure or from encountering the virus.
From this article, it can be stated that people who are already exposed to the deadly virus,
COVID- 19 must get essential treatment and care through which they can be recovered in
appropriate time period. The article states that the use of PPE kit must be regulated for health
care and social professionals, as these workers are more exposed to individuals who are either
asymptomatic or highly vulnerable to infection. The government of UK published guidelines
which defines the use of PPE kit is mandatory for social and health care professionals for
maintaining their safety as such professionals are extremely exposed to the virus.
According to this article, all 4 UK public bodies and NHS infection prevention control
experts has reviewed this article which states the use of PPE kits for healthy care and social

where they are highly exposed to the virus.
According to this article, the development of PPE policies for non-health and social care
setting is different from heath care and social care worker. Professional who belong to non-
health and social care setting must ensure social distancing, hand hygiene which will be helpful
in minimizing the risk of spread of infection. The article states that social distancing will be
helpful for non-health care professionals to minimize the risk.
Article- 2: Personal Protective Equipment Policy
This article was published by Employ My Ability company which focuses on protecting
their employees from exposure to work place hazards ad risk which can create huge health
issues. As per the key finding from this article, it states that PPE kit is not the only substitute for
effective control measures and the use of PPE kits can be considered valuable and effective
means of protection against hazards.(PPE policies, 2021). The article states that the company
will provide PPE kit to their employees through which they can ensure safety and health of their
employees from transmission of the virus. The organization will focus on assessment and PPE
selection and maintenance of PPE Kit.
As per the article, the operations lead will be focusing on managing the development,
implementation and administration of PPE policies in the organisation. The PPE polices which
will be followed by the organization are-
 Organizing hazard assessment for selection of PPE kit and for the organization.
 Selecting and purchasing the right PPE kit for employee safety at work.
 Maintaining records on PPE assignment and training.
 Conducting training session for regulating proper use, care and cleaning of PPE kit.
As per this paper, each employee working at different position will be playing different
roles in order to plan and implement PPE policies in the organization. The role of managers in
the organization will focus on meeting their primary responsibility of planning and implementing

The comparison between the articles can be stated on various factors. Some of the factors
which are highlighted for comparing the development of PPE policies are addressed below:
Purpose-
In accordance to article 1, the purpose of the paper is to define the use of PPE kit for
different practitioners, such as- health care, social worker and non health care professionals. This
article focuses on defining the use of PPE kit for health and social care professionals which is
essential as these workers are directly in contact with number of people which creates a risk of
getting in contact with individuals which are affected from virus. The article also outlines that
non-health care professional can maintain safety by maintaining social distancing and through
following various safety measures. As per the article, the use of PPE kit is regulated by the
government of UK for the health care and social professionals through which they can be
safeguarded from the exposure of deadly virus. The objective of this article is to define the use of
PPE kits for social and health care settings which can be the effective measure for safeguarding
the employees from getting affected from the deadly virus.
In case of Article 2, the purpose of this article is to define the development and
implementation of PPE polices which will be regulated by the organization for ensuring
employee safety. The purpose of this article is to define role of various employees, mangers and

other staff in order to plan and implement the PPE policies in the organization. The primary
objective of this article is to outline the chain of command which will be followed by the
organization for successful planning and implementation of PPE policies through which they can
ensure safety of their employees and create a health working scenario.
Methodology-
In article 1, the information which has been collected by Public Health England has been
based on secondary method of research which helps the team in defining the use of PPE kit for
various professionals at workplace (Walton, Murray and Christian, 2020). The approach which
has been used by the authorities in secondary method of data collection through which they can
analyse and gather the data which was helpful in forming the policies and ensuring regulations
of these policies.
In case of Article 2, the information which has been gathered for developing the PPE
policies in the organization is secondary aspects (Xu and Li, 2020). The company use secondary
data through which they can form polices which can be regulated in the organization for ensuring
employee safety at workplace. In case of this article, the company used secondary approach of
data collection which was helpful for the organization in creating a guidelines which must be
followed by them through which they can ensure safe working environment.
Results-
In case of Article 1, it can be concluded that the article helps in defining the PPE policies
which must be followed by social, health and non-health care professionals. From this article, the
use of PPE kits in health and social setting was regulated which was helpful in restricting the
transmission of virus at larger level. Such safety measures adopted by these practitioners
supported the economy in maintaining the safety standard and ensuring the rate of transmission
of virus was decreased.
In case of Article 2, this can be stated there are various employees which are involved in
planning and implementing the PPE policies which must be followed in the organization through
which the organization can ensure employee safety at workplace. This article resulted in
enhancing the awareness for the use of PPE kits in an organization through which employee
safety at workplace can be maintained. Therefore, through maintaining the chain of command in
forming and implementing the PPE policies, this will ensure safety standards are maintained and
met through which the risk of transmission can be avoided.

CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that PPE policies formed by the
authorities are helpful in ensuring safety of employees at workplace. According to the articles, it
can be stated that the use of PPE kits must be regulated through which the safety of health care
and social worker can be ensured and this will be helpful in avoiding the transmission of virus at
larger glance. The article was helpful in understanding that the use of PPE kit can be useful in
ensuring employee safety at workplace and this will be the effective measure for avoiding direct
contact or exposure the the virus. It can be summarized that PPE kits are not thy only substitutes
avoiding transmission, whereas, this can be an effective control method from exposure to virus
when other measures are not much feasible.
On the other hand, the companies must follow the stated regulations and must focus on
planning and executing the polices which will regulate the use of PPE kits in the organization
through which companies can ensure lower risk and threats to employees while meeting their
responsibilities. It can be stated that the rules and regulations related to using PPE kits can be
successfully executed with the help of coordination between different member of the
organization are delegated with their responsibilities. Such delegation of roles will brig clarity to
employees through which they can ensure PPE kits are used effectively, managed and cleaned
through which hygiene standards can be maintain.
