Introduction
The main aim of the study to search for the mental health issue observed in the patient
with Parkinson diseases which deteriorate the physical health of the patient. The study includes
background information and suggested a solution to the problem identified.
Background
Parkinson disease is the progressive and neurodegenerative disease which is linked with
the disability and economic burden. The significant number of people affected by Parkinson's
disease are observed to have a mental health issue like anxiety and depression (Surmeier, Obeso
& Halliday, 2017). It is most common in the older adult and is associated with the deleterious
effects on the interpersonal and physical functioning of the body. The consequence of such fact
leads to poor quality of life and deprived health of the patient. It is evident from the study of
Poewe et al. (2017) that the non-motor symptom in Parkinson disease people often has a negative
impact on the treatment process. The psychiatric symptoms are not left unrecognized and are
poorly treated. This is the reason for the high rate of mortality of the PD patient.
Problem statement
The mental illness symptom like depression, anxiety and emotional trauma are ignored
by the health care professional which lead to the adverse effect on the social and physical
functioning of the body (Adams, Huys & Roiser, 2016).

Step 1. Ideal
As it is noted that patient with Parkinson disease is affected with mental illness which
affects their life. Therefore, the goal will be to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of the
people affected by Parkinson disease (Evans et al., 2019).
Step 2. Reality
In the current situation, the mental illness symptom is not recognized in the patient with
Parkinson disease and health care professionals are not concerned in dealing with these
symptoms. Such ignorance has deteriorated the health of the people (Maffoni et al., 2017).
Step 3. Consequence
The action of undertaking cognitive behavioural therapy for treating anxiety and
depression in a patient with Parkinson disease could have a positive impact on health. It can
improve mental health and consequently improve the coping capabilities with the disease. Such
intervention can also help to improve the physical health of the patient (Wu et al., 2015).
Step 4. Solution
In order to lower the mental health symptom like anxiety and depression in Parkinson
diseased patient, cognitive behavioural therapy could be proved to effective and solve the issue
of mental illness. It is evident from the study of Wu et al. (2015) CBT is effective in lowering the
incidence of the anxiety and depression as effective communication by the nurse can help to
