Introduction
The following report is all about revitalizing town and city center which stand out to be
important component in supporting different government plans. It merely helps in building new
and affordable homes in various countries. Most of the new towns are located in high growth
areas. It need to focus the large population which is served by vibrant. It is seen throughout the
city center providing new job opportunities along with being a part of the local community
(Rydén et al., 2017). Flagship development can be stated as high-profile and prestigious land and
property development that plays a key role in urban development. Flagship development are seen
in places where global and local influence completely intertwine. The global deal focuses on
tourists, investment, global firms and building image for international relations. In between the
year 1980 and 1990, the first flagship emerged and were implemented on the vacant land (Wang
& Chen, 2019). This was an empty land as a result of de-industrialization done from industries. It
was completely declining and moving out of the city. The first kind of flagship development
arise in the cities which suffered from de-centralization and related problem.
In the coming pages of the report, an idea has been provided regarding flagship project
“Grand Central in Birmingham”. After that benefits and drawback project of the Birmingham
project needs to be discussed.

Sustainable development can be easily stated as meeting the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of upcoming generation. In other words, it is the ability of the future

sustainable communities. It is the best tool that is needed for underpin the future sustainability
(Andre et al., 2019). Flagship development is merely located near the city and geared just outside
the audience city center. The main area comprises of some mixed-function for housing, offices
and other facilities. Egan stand out to be the best tool which is required for judging sustainable
communities.

Transport and Connectivity
Birmingham New Street station can be completely changed and named Grand Central
which stand out to be major transport and shopping hub. It ultimately leads to economic growth
and complete regeneration of Britain’s city (Benkwitz & Molnar, 2017). The very first Midland
Metro line was opened in the year 1999. This stand out to be clean, electric powered tram
system. Midland Metro link aims to cover some of the key areas in the busy transport areas
routes serving some of the local center in the way.
The route completely runs right from Birmingham Grand central (new street rail station)
