INTRODUCTION
Resource Management is the most crucial and necessary task making process in the
organisation that helps to make the effective challenging resources and task oriented process. It is
the process that helps to manage the various functions of the company that helps to achieve the
organisational goals and set objectives. Present study will be based on Resource Management,
for that assignment will be taken Hilton Hotel into action. Furthermore, in this file explaining the
different functional or the different economy sectors. It will also explain the physical resources
that helps to managed and monitored the company functions.

1.1 Analysing requirement of different resources
In the different sector of economy, there are different types of organization like primary,
secondary and tertiary. There are different sectors like mining, manufacturing, service sector etc.
that helps to making good output results and task oriented performance (Bratton and Gold, 2017
).
Primary Organization: Mining sectors are included here. In the organisation there are
required different types of raw material according to the company requirements. Mining includes
metals, coal, oil, dimension and clay. In mining process, technology, equipment and time are
important resources that is required in an organization.
Secondary Organization: Manufacturing, electronic and engineering sectors are
included in secondary organization. In manufacturing sector where company taken the use of raw
material and transfer into the finished goods and services. Engineering companies are also
requirement of these different resources in their production process.
Tertiary Organization: In this organization, service sector includes tourism, finance and
catering services (Bringezu and Bleischwitz, eds., 2017). In tourism sector, time, technology,
equipment are most requiring resources in their organization. Services industry like Hilton hotels
and resorts. This organization provides services such as travel, foods and beverages etc.
1.2 Explaining the key requirement relevant resources' management in the organisations in
different sectors of the economy.
In the organisation management where company required huge number of different
resources that helps to make the final outcome and results. There are giving some resources
below to explain into deeper manner.

Training: Training is the most required and essential part of the resources that helps to
learn emp[loyees about new method of working in the organisation. It is responsibility of the
manager for giving training to employees for better performance (Brown and Capozza, eds.,
2016). In service industry like Hilton hotels and resorts, there are many employees working so
training is the main requirement for better performance by them.
Storage facilities: There are another resources are considering in the organization.
Storages facilities are main requirement in any organization, so that is not difficult for the
managers and employees for easily using the raw materials, equipments in their work. In the
hotels sectors, they are always using the facilities of storages.
Compliance with legislation: This is thev another resource which is required in the
organization. In this resources including employee health and safety, impact on environment etc.
In the hotels sectors, many employees are working, so that managers are ensuring for employees
health and safety (Cascio, W., 2018).

2.1 Use of Physical Resources
Physical resources are those resources that we can feel and move and smell. Those
resources are not easily movable and transforming from one place to another. Some of the
following giving below:
Buying and Ordering System: In every any organization, buying, selling and ordering
goods and services is the common process between buyer and company. Hilton hotels and resorts
are providing services of hotels and resorts, so that they can adopt buying and ordering system in
their hotels (Chelladurai.and Kerwin, 2017). It is the system of ordering their foods, beverages,
resorts and hotel rooms.
Stock Control System: In any organization, stock control system is another physical
resource. In hospitality industry, they are providing different services to the customers, so that
they are adopting the system of their stock control and they are managed and monitored on their
stock. This is the another physical services provides by Hilton.
Time Management: It is important physical resource which are required in the
organization. With the help time management, it is easy and simple for any company to make
work properly and systematic. In the hotels sectors, it is the main part of providing services to the
customers. Managers and employees are ensuring that managed of their time for working.

2.2 Impact of Resource Wastage
Resource wastage is the process which might be gives negative impact on the company
nature or image (Deci and Ryan, 2014).
Financial costs and reduce profits: In the company, storages facilities are there, so that
huge amount of stock in their stores. However, some time, in any condition, increasing in
financial costs and reducing the profits, so that this reason, wastage of resources are happing in
the company.
Production: In the organization, due to some reasons like technology problem, materials
storages, so that the production process is not complete on time and not selling of their goods
from the customers. This type of causes is the wastages of resources.
Customers Base: In hotel sector, they are focused on the customers’ expectation. Due to
some reasons, they are not providing services to the customers; this is the wastages of foods and
beverages. It is negative impact on the hotels images. It is the loss of customers and wastages of
resources (Gregson and et.al., 2015).
Manufacturing of Goods: manufacturing industry is generally manufactured the
raw material into finished goods and services
2.3 The costs of high profile technological failure
Technology is main resources which is requirement in the company such as
manufacturing, mining, electronic and services industry. Due to some reasons, technology is
failures with the high costs, there is negative impact on the company. Hilton hotels and resorts is
the largest hotels which is providing hotels rooms, resorts, foods and beverages , so that in this
services' technology is using by the company (Hitomi, 2017). Technology includes equipments
and IT departments causes. In the technology is includes fire services control system, NHS
computer system etc.
Fire Services Control: In the organization, fire services are including in the technology. If
the any condition, there is no control system of fire services, it is the high costs failures of the
technological services in the company. It is high loss of employees and organization as well.
Production: In the production and manufacturing process, technology is the main
resources is to requiring in the company. Technology includes machinery and equipment. Some

time machinery is not working, so that the production process is delay and services are not
providing to the customers (Miner, 2015).
2.4 Assess the business case for the use of ethical and sustainable resources
Business case is the written document which is the verbal agreement and presentation. In
the business case includes business profiles, marketing and competitors advantages, using the
ethical and sustainable resources in the company.
ï‚· Business Profile/Image : Hilton hotels and resorts is the one largest and global brand of
services of hotels and resorts. It is one largest hotel in the hospitality industry and it is
private sectors company for hotels and resorts.
ï‚· Marketing and Competitors Advantages: Hilton is adopting various marketing
advantages and there are many competitors of Hilton hotels and resorts. In the
competitors advantages, four elements are included cost focus and leadership,
differentiate focus and leadership. In these elements company are focusing on the cost
and difference.
ï‚· Ethical and Sustainable Reasons: There are different business ethics of sustainability
in the company. Hilton hotel is focus on the customers services (Mone and London,
2018). The company should be adopted the business ethics such as responsibility,
honesty, unity and understanding in front of the customers.

3.1 Assess the needs of human resources planning
Human resources planning is the process to identify the needs of human resources in the
organization. It is the continue and ongoing process of systematic planning of the human
resources. In this process includes labour demand, forecasting, labour supply for achieving the
organizational goals.
ï‚· Staff turnover : Human resource planning is to helping in the staff turnover. In the
Hilton hotels and resorts, various employees are working in different departments, so that
they reduce the staff turnover in the company. They can provide training of employees
for their works (Morrow Jr and et.al., 2015).
ï‚· Human Resources Requirement: Human resources planning is to helping of
requirement of forecasting for human resources in the company. Human resources

includes manpower, machines, labour and times. So that, in the Hilton hotels mangers
are using the human resources planning for the forecasting requirement in their company.
ï‚· Respond to Changes: There are many changes according to the external environment in
the company (Stone and et.al., 2015). The company should be responding of changes in
their company. External factors includes social, technological, legal and economical
elements which are affecting the company environment.
3.2 Analysis Motivational Theories
There are many theories of motivation which are using to motivate to employees
performance in the company.
ï‚· Maslow Need Hierarchy Theory: In this theory, Maslow was focused on the peoples
needs. There are five needs of peoples, which are explaining by the Maslow. Needs
includes physiological, social, safety, self esteem and self actualization. Through this
motivational theory, managers are motivates their employees.
ï‚· Herzberg Factors Theory: In this theory, Herzberg was explained two factors such as
hygiene and motivational factors (Wang and Navin, 2015). In the hygiene factors
includes working condition, work environment, safety, security levels of these elements
are dissatisfaction in the workplace. In the motivational factors includes job satisfaction,
individual's development and growth.
ï‚· Mc Gregor Theory: This theory is formed by the McGregor. Two theories are including
theory X and theory Y. In the theory X, employee does not like their work, managers are
always pushed their for complete the task. In the theory Y, employees are like their work
and mangers are always motivated for their development. Managers are trying to improve
the theory X employees in the company (Yaramasu and et.al., 2015).
ï‚· Expectancy Theory: This theory is formed by the Victor Vroom. Vroom was explaining
the individual's values and it is result of achieving the success. If the employees are hard
worker so that it is to helping for better performance in the workplaces. Managers are
improving their employees performance to giving the task and targets.
3.3 Evaluate the methods used to monitor and improve employees performance
In the company, managers are using the various methods for improving employees
performance in the workplace.

Bonus: It is the type of reward system. It is given on special events and festival. It is
given by the top level management to employees in the company.
Performance related Pay: It is the type of reward system. It means that rewards are
giving on the basis of performance by the top level managers in the pany.
Promotion: It is also type of reward system using by mangers for employees . In this
type, lower level employees is to appointed on the upper level with high responsibility and duties
in the workplace. It is also known as advancement (Wang and Navin, 2015).
Share Option: It means managers are giving the particular percentage of the profit and
share of the employees in the company. It is also types of rewards system is using in the
company.

There are different physical resources using in company. They are effecting on the
measuring and procedures of performance in the company.

Customers Feed back : It is the physical resources of the company giving by the
customers. This is effecting on the employees' performance measuring and procedures in the
company.
Targets: It is also the physical resources of the company. Targets are always effecting
the measuring of performance of employees in the company. It is the negative impact on the
employees' performance.
Repeat Sales : Due to some reasons, there are repeating the sales by the employees, so
that it is effecting to procedures and measuring the performance of the employees in the
workplace (Cascio, W., 2018).
4.2 Analysis data on employees' performance
In the company, managers are analysing the employees' performance data according to
sales, targets, customers feedback and repeat sales of the organization.
Sales: Through sales figures, managers are analysing the performance of the employees
in an organisation. If the employees are selling of goods and services for properly to customers
and sales is high, so that it is positive impact on the employees' performance.
Customers Feedback: It is positive and negative impact on the employees' performance
for analysing by the managers. In the Hotels, it is necessary for customers of giving the feedback
of services in the Hotels (Mone and London, 2018).
4.3 Report on the effectiveness use of human and physical resources
There are many uses of human and physical resources in the company. Human resources
includes manpower, machines and labour. Physical resources includes sales, targets and
feedback. The use of human resources for production and manufacture the goods and use of
physical resources of measuring the employees' performance in the workplace.
Human Resources : In the company, human resources are important for the production
and manufacture process of goods and services. It includes manpower, machine and labour
working in the production and other departments in Hilton hotels and resorts.
Physical Resources : In the company, physical resources is important for measuring the
employees' performance in the company (Stone and et.al., 2015).
4.4 Make recommendations to improve human and physical resources
The effective use of human resources and physical resources in the company. For
improving that company is adopting various strategies in the company. For improving the human

For improving the physical resources is using the different methods of improving employees
performance in the workplaces (Wang and Navin, 2015).

In this report, it can be concluded that using of human and physical resources in the
Hilton hotels and resorts. Explaining the motivational theories and how to use by the company to
motivate employees. Analysing the rewards system and methods of using for employees
performances in the workplaces. Analysis the data for employees performance and making the
recommendations for more efficiency of human resources and physical resources. Evaluate the
impact of wastage of resources in the company.
