INTRODUCTION
Resource planning is the process for allocation of the task which are allotted to the
members of the team on the basis of their skills and capacity that fits the job. It is a form of
maximization of the efficiency of the team for the management and utilization of rates which
track the capacity and monitor progress towards the budget and working on track. In this report
the resource and planning will be shown for Intensive Care Unit (ICU) which are sections in the
specialist hospital ward that provide treatment and monitoring to the people which are very ill. It
includes may specially train healthcare professionals and also contain sophisticated monitoring
equipment. This project will understand the concept of resource planning. This will also discuss
the importance of effective resource management. It will also explain the relationship between
planning and management of resource and their performance in the team.

Discussion of utilization of concept of resource planning for expanding the ICU
Resource planning is a process which is very effective in the identification, forecasting
and allocation of different types of businesses resources for the project which at the given time of
the right time and cost can ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the resources across the
enterprise. The importance of Resource planning in a project has its benefits,
 It is considered to be very helpful for the project to pipeline the project, develop an
outline to the projects. It is considered to be the execution of the project which helps in
the bottlenecking, delays n meetings and deadlines which impact the quality (Chen and
et.al., 2019).
 This is a very good way of bridging the gaps between the practice efforts of the resource
planning which is the identification of the excess and shortage of resources. It is
considered to be based on the implementation of the right resourcing treatments which
can bridge the capacity and demand.
For the expansion of ICU at the North Middlesex Hospital the following steps for the
resource planning can be taken which will lead to effective,
Plan :
Firstly there will be a development of plan on how the resource planning will be
executing the project of expanding the ICU. In this the essential requirements for the planning

and with the help of the GIS tools which are based on the socio-demographic data of population,
location of the hospital will analyse the transport structure. This will help in the calculation of
the conditions for potential spatial accessibility in the hospitals which are available for the ICU.
Collaboration :
The plan which is developed then will be requiring implementation with the help of
collaboration of the resources which are going to focus on the new practices which are agile and
lean management (Li, 2020). This is a way in which the remote work or virtual dispersed teams
are utilized for collaboration.
Adjust :
In the planning of implementation of the expansion for ICU there will be some definite
barriers which are needed to be addressed for effectiveness in the utilization of the technology

system. For example in this method of raising fund for a hospital can be way of planning a join
venture with a similar kind of organization in the healthcare industry which will not only provide
the resources which are needed but also help the organization to be able remove the competition
from the market. It is said that the idea of creating a partnership is very easy and effective if the
partner of the organization capable of providing the resources which are necessary. ICU
expansion requires space and equipment both of which can be accessible through raising the
profit and non-profit partnership in the organization. This system also requires capital and
resources both in abundance so that the goals of the expansion can be achieved. The issues with
this source of funding is that it is very vulnerable to the organizational operations.
The disadvantages of this source of fund are,
 Liabilities of the partner organization also be added to the business.
 This will mean the organization will lose its autonomy practices.
 There can be future complication after the expansion of ICU.

Equity investments :
For this hospital which is established by a trust. Private equity investments in the
healthcare is also a new way for the presentation of the attractive option has helped many
financially unstable hospitals in the past. It is considered that this healthcare system is requires
the funds for the expansion of ICU for which utilization of the equity investments will be a very
effective way of ensuring success. This method will benefit the firm as it will be able to generate
fund just through sharing its ownership. There is a limited to the numbers of shares the
organization can issue. However, the acquisition of the capital which is the development of
hospital is very helpful for the critical mass of buying multiple facilities which are effective in
the creation of effectiveness. This is also a way in which there will be an increase in the return on
investment which helps in putting together the remark which sells the assets which can be useful
for the organization.
The disadvantages of Equity investments as a source funds are,
 A portion of the profit will be shared between the shareholders, those who will be
investing in the organization.
 It will also lead to the loss of control and the price which are paid by the equity financing
that can be the potentially advantageous that can bring growth to the control of the
organization.
 After the expansion there can be conflict between the shareholders.
Government funds :
Due to the social responsibility which is applicable with the hospitals the governments
have been seen to be investing in the programs which are related to the health and benefit for the
organization. There is always a limit on the these funds however, these funds are not free of cost
for the hospital and thus, is a very useful way of generating resources. However, an organization
can be seen to provide the business the areas of effectiveness which provides the business with
the growth opportunities (Scheplitz, Kaczmarek and Benedict, 2019). It can be said that the
sources of the credit, venture capital and donations which are granted through savings, subsidies
and taxes is a very easy way of gaining growth. These funds can help the expansion of the ICU
not just in the monetary terms but also in the terms of gaining resources which will be provided

by the government. It can be said that the application of this source of funding but will be able to
create effectiveness with the help of effectiveness of the sources of funding.
The disadvantages of government funds as source funding are,
 It is hard to obtain thus, is not considered to be dependable source of fund.
 There are many factors which are related to the success of this practice.
Out of these sources of funding this hospital can utilize any one of the source or may be
use two or more source of fund which will be providing the firm sufficient funds for gaining the
effectiveness in the ICU expansion (de Oliveira and et.al., 2021). The most effective and
applicable strategy would be use the equity investment that will help the organization to fulfil
their requirements.

Critical discussion of the project management concept
The project management is the application of the process, methods and skills of
knowledge which is considered to be the experience for the skills and knowledge and experience
for the achievement of the specific project objectives. It is considered to be the objective of the
project to accept the criteria for the agreed parameters which can help the project to consider to
finite timescale and budget. It is considered to plan the event by helping in delivering the
constrained towards the finite timescale and budget (Marengo and et.al., 2018). The ICU
expansion is also an event which is needed to be planned with the help of the project
management such that it can successfully manage all the stages, resources and also funds
accordingly for achieving success.
It is said that the project management have certain core competencies which make it
successful in implementation are,

Short term goal :
The short term goal of expanding the ICU at the hospital would be to ensure that the
expansion of ICU is not affecting the day to day practices of the Hospital. This is very important
because in the hospital the current patient is the more important that the expansion benefits of the
ICU. One major part of the short term goal for a project management would be to contribute
towards the long term goal in partial terms (Adikari and Dalpatadu, 2020). This is a definite
activity which would allow the work load to be managed before it gets intense at the end. It can
be said that with the help of being accountable in the short term gaols the project team will be
able to prove the efficiency of achieving the end goal. In the short term the main aim of the
project management would be to ensure the essential resources that will be required for the ICU
expansion. Hiring the team members which will be the perfectly suited for their job roles. This
will be the stage in which the project team will plan for the upcoming steps it will be taking
towards the expansion of the ICU. In the short term goals the project management will be
looking towards the development of the continuous learning opportunities which will help in
gaining the essential information which might be useful in the long term goals.
Medium Term Goals :
The medium term goals will be to achieve a certain level of success which was desired in
the expansion of the ICU. This can be towards the partial development or gaining access to the
resource and funds which were needed for starting the project. It can be to find those areas in

The role of planning is also the key factor for the success of the project. The resources which are
managed for this project are also one of the key areas which are important for the organization to
be successful in the long term goals. It can be considered to be the major factor which impacts
the organizational decision-making and also influences the success of the organizational
performance. It is considered to be the achievement of the future of month which is considered to
be the year for accomplishing the requirement which are advanced for planning and consistency
work for a longer period. This is helpful for a project to be success and also be profitable in the
revamping your organizational culture for becoming the team leader (Frechette and et.al., 2020).
The success of the project management is considered to be the very effective for the organization
which is considered to be the success of the looking like the concrete benchmark for
measurement of progress which is helpful for the determination of the areas which is helpful for
the achieved your objectives.
The priorities of the goals is considered to be the short term, medium term and long term
goals which can be considered to be the areas of the inclusion of the personal width which can
help the project which can help the organization in the realization of the organizational aspects
which can develop the organization growth.

CONCLUSION
With the help of this project it can be concluded that the project of expansion of ICU at
North Middlesex Hospital will be successful with the concept of resource planning methods. In
this project the resource planning is used for the management of the project of expansion which
is considered to be the areas which help in the organizational development. This is considered to
be the areas which are helpful for the development of the organizational operations. This is
project has been able to analyse the sources of fund which can help the growth of the business
which can help the hospital to help with the resource planning for the expansion of ICU. The
concept of the project management has been explained in this project for the analysation of the
organizational operations.
