INTRODUCTIONWork-based learning is the type of educational tactic which enhances individual abilitywith regard to get job in market (Work based experience, 2016). It is beneficial for the personaland professional development of individuals and it concentrates on practical workplace activities.Work based experience plays the key role in supporting businesses to innovate. In the presentscenario, workplace is now considered as the means where individuals gain knowledge andexperience. In this report, discussion will be carried out upon the negotiation tactic which couldbe used by individual with an aim to get proposal for work experience in industry. This reportwill also entail about the specific tasks and responsibilities which needs to be fulfilled by peoplewhile getting work experience. They will get maximum benefits by working for an organisation.TASK 11.1 Organisation that could provide Industry experienceI want to build my career as an HR manager in Travel and tourism sector. ThomsonHoliday is the best company I want to work for. Thomson Holiday is a renowned travel operatorof UK and it is the subsidiary of TUI group. They have become the lead player in travel operatorindustry in the few last years. The scope of HR manager in Thomson Holiday is very wide. Iwould not only develop my analytical skills here, but also the interpersonal skills (Lange, 2014).I would grab an opportunity to get the knowledge of working with diverse people who belongsvaried culture. Being the HR manager in tour operator agency, I would deal with different typesof people with different cultures and nations that would help me to learn more. I would gainknowledge from the experienced professionals that are working in Thomson. Firm is having afriendly working environment with growth and development its sector. By getting workexperience in Thomson Holiday, I can get the knowledge of dealing with different departmentslike reservation and counter staff, sales and marketing staff, tour guides, etc. Thomson Holiday isa workplace where I can enhance my knowledge. Working with such a reputed company, I canexplore more opportunities for myself. 1.2 Negotiation with work and academic supervisorI would negotiate with the supervisor of Thomson Holiday to appoint me as a HR trainee.I have the required qualification as I have done my masters in travel and tourism and I have

completed my Bachelor program in HND course related with Travel and Tourism. I will notdisclose your confidential information to outsiders. Along with that, I am a quick learner and willtry to give desired results to the firm within stipulated time period. Also, I am good in dealingwith diverse people and knows various languages as well (Bakker., Demerouti. and tenBrummelhuis., 2012). In addition to this, I will try my level best to understand and solve thegrievances of human resources that are working in Thomson Holiday. I have a vast knowledge oftravel and tourism industry and especially about company. This will be a good beginning for mycareer that would help me to gain industry experience especially as a HR trainee which is myarea of interest. Despite of this area, I would improve my knowledge regarding tourmanagement. 1.3 Business constraints on the work experienceThere are many business constraints that can affect my work experience that are asfollows: Instructor availability: This factor can act as a business constraint. Developing a separatetraining program might not be possible. So, Thomson Holiday trains their traineessimultaneously under an instructor. Sometimes, instructor might not be available as theywill be engaged in training other employees. This factor can affect my work experiencebecause my doubts will be left unclear and I will not gain as much knowledge that isrequired (Dragoni and et.al., 2011). Time availability: The heavy workload among employer of cited firm can also affect mywork based experience. They have to complete their targets on time, so they will not allottheir time to me as much I require. In this situation, many of my doubts and questionswill remain unanswered. Seasonal work: Tourism is a seasonal business as there is high work load at the time ofholidays as compared to off season. This will act as a hindrance to my learning as at thattime, I’ll have less interaction with the people of Thomson Holiday. In off season, therewill be less work which will enable me to gain knowledge. But, the period in whichservices of firm will be highly in demand will act as a constraint for me and that willcause impact on my work experience.
