RESTORATION TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE GREEN HERITAGE BUILDING_1
ABSTRACT
Broadly speaking, heritage is a concept which is related anything passed on and inherited on
from past to future. This concept is generally related to believes, traditions and achievements.
The framework which the study has proposed basically covers two various unique domains.
These are sustainable approached used in the environment as well as technical operation. There
is a compressive description of all the involved players. In order to illustrate the functionality as
well as several benefits which are obtained from the integration of the latest technology into the
systems of the restorations, there is presentation of several simulations. The processes of the
simulation involved dynamic behavior and steady-state analysis. The concept of heritage has
been explained in this particular paper while using Mansoura Opera House as the case study.

INTRODUCTIONDefinition of Heritage
In general, heritage is a concept which is related anything passed on and inherited on from past
to future. This concept is generally related to believes, traditions and achievements. It is actually
a representation substances of quality used by the ancestors and have been carried forward to the
future generation. Heritage is also defined by the International Charter for Cultural Tourism as a
broad concept making reference to the cultural and natural environment. It encompasses
coordination of places, land as well as sites. Other included areas are biodiversity and built
environment, knowledge, past ongoing cultural practices and finally experiences of life. It
therefore constitutes the core of the original national, local and regional identity so that it is a
representation of the intertwined component in the modern life set up (Yung, Chan and Xu
2013).
BACKGROUND
Heritage Building Restoration
International policies for reconstruction, revival and conventions for the destroyed heritage
building dealing with the heritage in general
Convection of Cultural Property Protection
Disasters, wars as well as revolution took part in disfiguring the history of the architecture of
different nations which are represented by the buildings of the heritage as well as areas. This has
become the basis of heritage preservation which has continued to satisfy the need for the laws
and principles to protect the heritage. It is in this line that the heritage perspective conservation
convection treaty of the year 1954 was the first and also the unique one. In its recognition, the
United Nations organization has been considered to be responsible for the protection of the
heritage building in various countries in the event of wars. To the extreme cases there has been

involvement of the army group to assist in persuading the members’ nation to participate actively
while obeying the signed treaties. The protection of the cultural properties was also necessitated
by the Hague agreement of the year 1954 particularly in the areas of the active conflicts.
Similarly, it is important to emphasize that the consequences of the latest assaults which are
basically negative in both Lebanon and Iraq are in fact violation to the agreements which have
been internationally established. Such agreements are sectioned into articles which are partly
responsible for the regulation of the execution of such convections.
In articles 2, 3,4 and 10, the term protection has been defined as the process of safeguarding the
property through utilization of the measures taken during the period of the peace time to be used
in countering any possible property’s assaults in these nations. The respect to such properties is
achieved through avoidance of their use as well as their environment in any kind of demeanor
which may facilitate their destruction. This implies that such kind of the materials must have
their properties marked while at the same time allowing the external forces to interface for
convection execution.
OBJECTIVES
The research aims at incorporation of the principles of the green architecture into the restoration
buildings of heritage importance while using specific case studies in Egypt.
