Mir, Z.H. and Filali, F., (2014) LTE and IEEE 802.11 p for vehicular networking: a
performance evaluation. EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and
Networking, 2014(1), p.89.
The title of this journal paper is LTE and IEEE 802.11p for vehicular networking: a
performance evaluation that was written by Zeeshan Hameed Mir and Fethi Filali in the
year 2014. The main objective of this journal is to describe the con concept of LTE and
IEE 802.11 and evaluate their performance. In this modern era information technology
developed different types of wireless networks for different application in which LTE is
one of the advanced communication systems that have the potential to transfer data
from one location to another. There are main three applications of wireless
communication, for example, road safety, and infotainment and traffic efficiency.
In this journal paper, author analysis the concept of LTE network and also evaluate their
performance related issues and researcher explain main two communication systems
that are long-term evaluation and IEEE 802.11p (Mir, and Filali, 2014). According to the
author, LTE is a very popular communication network which is used in mobile phones
to share data or information from one person to another and it does not require any
connecting wires. The main advantage of this wireless network is that it is a more
effective approach to send a high-level data signal from transmitter to receiver. It is
very necessary to identify the advantages and disadvantages of the wireless network by
which people can adopt a more effective communication approach. Furthermore, the
researcher also compares the performance related issues between the long-term
evaluation and 802.11p for different networking situation. In this paper, the author
used both qualitative and quantitative research method to improve the effectiveness of
the paper and a survey is conducted to analyse the opinion of other experts. In the
qualitative analysis, the relevant information is collected from the various resources, for
example, previous investigation, journal paper, online websites and books and
quantitative data is collected from the survey. The author developed a research
question to improve the effectiveness of the paper such as how to do various
networking components like frequency, vehicle speed effect, vehicle density affects the
performance of LTE and IEEE 802.11p communication network. There are main two
evaluation steps involved in this research in which the first process is to analyse the
impacts of varying beacon transmission frequency on the performance. Another one is
