INTRODUCTION
Talent management is the constant process which involves retaining the existing
employees and attracting the potential workforce. It involves developing the skills of the
employees and also continuously motivating them so that they can make improvements in their
performance. The main objective of this practice is to motivate the staff so that they can stay
with the organisation for the longer time period. The organisation chosen for this report is
Burberry, a luxurious fashion house which is headquartered in London, UK(Boocock, Page-
Tickell, and Yerby, 2020).It mainly designs and distribute the ready wear clothes, fashion
accessories, fragrances, eye wear, cosmetic and leather goods. This report shall cover the
literature review on talent management and is it necessary during the Covid 19 pandemic.

To figure out the need of Talent Management during the pandemic COVID19 situation.

According to Staff Writer (2020), Talent Management is a method which helps in the
growth of the person who is rightly talented by making them coming on board and tries to
enhance there capabilities and there optimal skills of working, This is mainly helpful to identify
the position of working of the person or employees in the Burberry and help them to enhance
there skills in respect of future work and focuses by engaging, motivating, or retaining that
person in different ways, Talent Management mainly works on the agenda of making a better and
strong work force so they may earn more profit and gain maximum customers by their new ideas
and techniques.(Cook, and Rougette, 2017) They trained there employees about all the digital
techniques and even led them to give there ideas for the organisation mainly this has been setted
out to give the companies more profit within even limited resources. This process aims in
attracting the talented employees and giving them an advance training for the benefit of there

more profits and during pandemic this has variably helped in some ways as mentioned below: Tries to cover critical roles: An organisation mainly tries to cover all the critical roles
and the needs which are important for the market and as in the pandemic situation
everything got changed and as Burberry has given an efficient training to there
employees to work in every situation with proper techniques. So the talent management
helps the employees to think beyond the limits and cover all the areas and needs of the
customers.
Efficiently increasing Employees Performance: As through the talent management the
employees works with proper optimal capabilities and strategies, During pandemic this has come
out as a boon to the company as employees has worked from their home for the company and
with proper management and techniques as they came out with different ideas and innovations
for helping out the organisation to make their customers satisfy (What is Talent Management and
Why is It Important? 2020) Employees Motivation: During this pandemic situation their were many workers and
people felt demotivated and helpless ads it has changed all the scenario of working and
also there normal lifestyle is affected, In this case Talent management helped out in a
structured way as they trained there employees and always tries to motivate them towards
working and earning well as most of the employees gets motivation if they earn more
money by there efficient working(Holck, and Stjerne, 2019).Burberry has the best talent
management system as they motivates there employee for working with a progressive
way, Thus talent management provided a proper motivation to there employees in the
pandemic situation.

and are sitting at there homes and rest others are working on almost half pay scale this made the
organisation demotivated and disturbed and resulted them to work loss there confidence. Talent
management has helped them out as they trained there employees for such condition and
motivated them to give new strategy and techniques for the organisation and they are not going
to loose their jobs this motivated the employees to work efficiently and remove there barrier of
thinking and working ability (Will COVID-19 drastically impact talent management?, 2018). Preparing them for New Normal: The employees were trained proficiently for there
working conditions as Talent management has helped them as the organisation is
providing the special training to all the employees for working in different conditions,
there has been made several trainings and sessions for the new joining ans the existing
staff about there working in such pandemic virtually(Krishnan and et. al., 2020).

demotivation and insecurity towards there working sector, in these instance Talent management
helped out and came out as an important element like they had provided various training sessions
virtually to there employees kept them motivated towards there work and made them to adapt the
New Normal.
It is further analysed that Talent management helps as an important element for the
organisation, and gave the companies a method through which they may make there employees
work in prominent way. Burberry has also adapted this feature and tries to motivate their teams
and there employees (Lysenko, and Kovaleva, 2016).It helped the company to identify the
actual talent and workers who are needed to be focused on their has been given them further
training for the post pandemic scenes, they made there technological sector more advance as it
was before and tried to set all the virtual meeting sessions for the employees to guide them and
frame them to work in a team even after sitting in different areas. These sessions helps all the
interns or the employees who had joined within few months before the pandemic came out to
properly learn the tactics and working process of the organisations even in adverse situation, and

about the aim and agenda of the company. Their should be provided a healthy environment to the
