2RISK MANAGEMENT OF McAfee
Introduction
McAfee is a Software security Company that is located in America. The headquarters
of the company is in Santa Clara, California. The company Intel bought the company, and it
became a part of the security division on Intel. The McAfee Company deals with the
cybersecurity divisions and helps to prevent virus attack. The threats of cybersecurity have
grown in frequency and complexity in a few years. The hackers have targeted the institutions
of the government and various companies and they have accessed the databases of these
companies and institutions containing personal information. McAfee offers a range of
antivirus software to the users to safeguard their offices, home and the devices that are
connected. McAfee also provides an advanced evaluation of threats, protection of data,
prevention of network intrusion and encryption for the companies. The product of
cybersecurity can be used secure the Amazon e-commerce is McAfee e-policy orchestrator.
The report discusses the governance framework and the standards of the company.
The report provides an overview of the cybersecurity industry and supplier. The report also
presents the risks in the company and the product liability of the company.
Governance Framework and Standards
A governance framework is essential for the legal and governance operations by directing the
way people interact with the company, with the stakeholders and the regulators to monitor
and guide the activities (Nisrina et al., 2016). It is a tool to address risk in the McAfee
Company. A framework assists in defining the role of the management and the role and helps
to prevent efforts those are duplicated and overlooking the issues, those are critical. It can
also help with the implementation of the core procedures of the boards by offering structure
to the tools and the policies. The cybersecurity product will help to mitigate the risks of the

security. The governance procedures of the Amazon Company should see that the
cybersecurity product is purchased from McAfee must meet its security requirements so that
the company can protect the E-commerce website from the attackers with the help of the
products that are selected. The product will help to secure the network of the business, data
security and compliance and it is significant for the company. The governance framework is
important in the company, as it will help the company to provide the products to the Amazon
Company appropriately. The governance Company is very important for the McAfee
Company.
It will permit the board of the McAfee Company to focus on the proper issues and
appropriately prioritise the resources and the time. A framework offers the board of the
company with a way those are structured to collaborate with the management on particular
issues that the company faces with the minimum risk of loss of productivity and confusion
(Wolmarans, Kruger & Croft, 2016). A governance framework can assist in clarifying each of
the roles of the committee in fulfilling the objective of the board from the perspective of
governance. There are various elements of management. These include:
Strategy
Performance
Governance
Integrity

the help of various software used to secure the systems and stop the hackers from getting into
the systems. The buyers want to purchase or acquire products that are related to cybersecurity
(Thames & Schaefer, 2017). These industries benefit society by protecting critical
information and data from the hands of hackers. This information is essential for the
enterprise, the organisations, and the software of cybersecurity that these industries provide
help stop the hackers from accessing the sensitive information and data. The supplier of the
product is McAfee Company and the product is McAfee e-policy orchestrator. The McAfee
company provides cybersecurity products and antiviruses to other companies so that they can
protect or safeguard their company from intrusions or the hands of the hackers. E-policy
orchestrator is one of the most advanced and centralised security management software in the
industry. It unifies the management of security via an open platform. It makes management of
risk and compliance more straightforward and successful for various organisations and in this
case, the organisation taken is Amazon E-commerce. The supplier supplies its products to
Amazon so that they can secure their e-commerce business. The risks of e-commerce that can
be prevented by the outcome of McAfee include privacy risk, reliability of the system, and
integrity of the transactions and the security issues of the company.
The cybersecurity products acquired from the McAfee Company provides a range of products
of cybersecurity, Internet security, an antivirus that can be installed in the systems and it
helps to secure the internet, and the antivirus will protect the system from viruses (Yang et
al.,2018). McAfee offers cybersecurity products such as security of the database, protection
of network, security of the server and many more that are used by the organisations to protect
the data and information from the hands of attackers that can likely to steal the critical data
and information (Pandey et al.,2020).

Operational Risks
The operational risk has been a great concern to the various organisations, but the
increasing threats of vulnerabilities of cybersecurity have made things more complicated.
Various institutions continue to be the main target for attackers and malicious actors
(Wheeler, 2018). The operational risk of McAfee Company can hamper the cybersecurity
products that are purchased by Amazon to secure E-commerce. The operational risk includes
internal procedures, controls, people, systems and many more. These risks can hamper the
products of the company, and the product can be damaged due to the operational risk. When
the E-commerce Company purchases these products, the security of the company can be
hampered and the attackers can access the sensitive information that is present in the E-
commerce Company. Therefore, the company can mitigate the operational risk so that the
cybersecurity products of the company do not get damaged and the Ecommerce company can
secure its website.
To fight these issues, companies must refurbish their risk of operations methods of
modelling to account for the dangers that are posed by the breaches of data and the cyber
attacks. The operational risk in the company can be due to the following factors (Biener,
Eling& Wirfs, 2018):
Actions of people taken accidentally or intentionally that will influence the products and
services of the company or the cybersecurity of the company.
Technology or systems failure consisting of hardware failure, systems of information or
the software
Failed internal procedures consisting of issues in the domestic business procedures that
adversely impacts the capability to deploy, manage and sustain the cybersecurity
External events such as the problems outside the control of the company such as legal
problems, business problems, and the disasters

. These risks of the company can affect the suppliers of the products that are related to
cybersecurity. This risk can compromise the security of these products and the services. The
buyer of these products and the organisation will have potential impacts. The products can
have some loopholes, and if the organisations implement or install these types of software,
the hackers can quickly get into the systems and access the sensitive data and information of
the organisation (Carfora& Orlando, 2019). These products will be less effective in these
cases as the suppliers of these products are affected due to the operational risks. These
products will severely affect the company and it will result in the loss of finances. Businesses
that suffered a breach of data will incur costs related to the repairing the systems that are
affected, devices and the networks. These will also cause damage to the reputation such as
loss of sales, loss of customers and reduction in the revenue. The company should mitigate
the operational risks so that they can reduce the operational risk and then the organisation
will not get affected as the products and the services will not be affected due to the
operational risks (Kashyap& Wetherilt, 2019).
Product Liability
Dangerous or defective products are the cause of many injuries in various countries.
There are a set of legal regulation and rules that are concerned about who is responsible for
the dangerous and defective products. These rules make it easier for a person to recover
damaged goods (Gullo& Dixon, 2018). The liability of the cybersecurity product is entirely
on the supplier of the product that is McAfee. If they provide a damaged product, then the
responsibility is theirs. The Ecommerce Company must check the products before they
implement it in the company so that the security does not get affected. The liability or the
responsibility of the damaged products is entirely on the supplier of the company and there
should be Laws to punish the Companies that provide damaged products intentionally. If
Amazon E-commerce Company installs these products, then the company will be in danger

from the hackers as the cybersecurity product will not be able to stop the hackers and mitigate
the security issues of the E-commerce company. The hackers will access sensitive data and
information.
The liability of products refers to a seller who is held liable for keeping a product that is
defective into the hands of the consumer. Responsibility for the defect of the product that will
harm the consumer lies with the sellers of the products. The liability for the error of product
could rest with any of the party in the chain of distribution of the product such as (Marano,
2019):
The manufacturer of the product
The parts of the manufacturer
The wholesaler
The store that sold the products to the consumers
There is liability law for federal products. The claims of liability of products based on
state laws, and they should be brought under strict liabilities and the negligence theories.
The companies and installed can buy these products. These can affect the companies on
installing such products (Ma, Ruan & Zheng, 2018). The impacts are as follows:
The company can suffer a huge loss when they install such products that are damaged as
they are expensive
The products related to cybersecurity can be damaged, and if the organisation implements
it, then the hackers can quickly get into the systems and access the sensitive information
of that organisation.
There will impact of repair on the quality of the products
The cost of implementation of the software is very high, and it will profoundly change the
company as the products are damaged or faulty

Conclusion
The report concludes with the cybersecurity of the McAfee Company and the other
cybersecurity risks that should be mitigated so that they provide and offer the right products
to the consumers. The report focuses on the governance frameworks that discuss the
cybersecurity industry and the procedures that will help to reduce the risk. The report
provides an overview of the products that are sold by the McAfee Company and the benefit
of the cybersecurity industry and the way this industry benefit the society. The report
discusses the operational risks of the organisation that has an impact on the products and the
services that are provided by the company. These products, when purchased and implemented
in the company, will profoundly affect the organisation. Lastly, the report gives an overview
of the term product liability and the laws related to product liability. These damaged products
can profoundly affect and organisation when they are installed in the organisation. The
product liability is a significant issue and it should be addressed as the damaged products
when installed in the company will not be very much useful and it will be easier for the
attackers to get inside the systems and the network of the organisation and access the
sensitive information of the company. Amazon is an e-commerce company that has some
security problems on its website. The McAfee Company supplies its cybersecurity products
to Amazon. Amazon can install the product so that it can secure the site. It depends on the
McAfee Company to provide proper products to the company so that the security is
appropriate and the information and data are not accessed.
