RISK MANAGEMENT – RECOMMENDATION FOR WA Introduction The purpose of this report is to explain the effective factors that helps in focusing while implementing the rail system between the regional centre and Perth in Western Australia. The proposed railway system will provide better benefits towards the government rail system. The report will address all the risks associated with the management of this plan. The developed rail system will ensure efficient way of working (Taylor, Bogdan & DeVault, 2015). The system will include wider space, high seta backs and proper tray tables. In addition to this the new system also offers easy accessibility for disabled persons. The report will discuss the feasibility of the project and the data collection part in detailed. The WA government has planned a better way of organizing the railway plan. The second part includes the risk management plan and the recommendation that will help in enhancing the working of the rail system. Part 1 data collection The aim behind developing the new rail system is to ensure that proper transportation is provided towards the passengers travelling between the railway station regional centres and Perth. The project is undergone by sub parts and is being funded by Western Australian Government. The expected budget for the new system is $146 m (Tupa, Simota & Steiner, 2017). thus it is important to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled efficiently by addressing all the risks. There are several risks associated with the project that are needed to be addressed before implementation of the project. The data are collected from every members associated with the new rail system. People associated with the plan also plays a crucial role, thus it becomes important to discuss the importance of new system along with the customers. The feedbacks achieved from customers has an efficient role to play. The proposed system gets approved and will be implemented when every major stakeholders and key customers associated with the project approves it. The new system main requirement is to provide
RISK MANAGEMENT – RECOMMENDATION FOR WA better facility towards the passengers and ensures better vision with mobility. In addition to this the new system also includes better feature for newly born and aged people. The aimed project includes a feasible rail system that will be approved by the government. The aim behind developing the new rail system is to ensure that proper carriage is offered so that proper transport can be implemented. Moreover the major stakeholders associated with the new railway project are the customers, the railway department and the government. In addition to this every passengers and staffs associated with the implementation needs to have a clear knowledge about the management of the new system. The new system will ensure better facilities and quick services. The new requirements for rail system is the need of proper system analyst (Hillson & Murray- Webster, 2017). This will help in analysing all the requirements and will allow proper maintenance. After the requirements are analysed it becomes easy to develop a system properly. Apart from this the system must have the capability of addressing the need of the passengers. Proper sensors are needed to be installed within the trains so that it can detect any emergency condition. Apart from this every train will have automatic door system based on sensors. The sensor will allow to detect every person and will be operated once every passengers has entered the train. In addition to this it becomes important to ensure that all the requirements of passengers are successfully meet. Part 2- risks assessment The main risks associated with the implementation of new rail system includes issues related to social, political and financial concerns. This is important for Western Australian government to ensure that all risks are mitigated at the time of implementation so that it does not create issues in future. The risks implications associated with the rail has high impacts (Giannakis & Papadopoulos, 2016). There is a risk related to schedule as it becomes important to ensure that the project is completed within the given schedule. The profits can be obtained if the project is completed with the budget and schedule. Budget has also an important role to play. The risks are also related to budget and design. In addition to this risks also arises when there is an improper communication. There are also some risks associated with stakeholders. Different opinions can lead to risks as the chances of conflicts increases. Apart from this there are chances of risks associated with transportation (Ho et al.,
RISK MANAGEMENT – RECOMMENDATION FOR WA 2015). Transportation also plays an important role as this is an effective way of completing the project. The technical risks that are associated with the implemented system has a critical place. This has the potential of leading the project to failure. The chances of risks associated with project needs to be mitigated as soon as possible so that it will reduce the impact. Risk table Sl. The project needs to be finished within the time so that it does not adds up to the cost. 35 2Budget EscalationBudget associated with the project needs to manage properly so that the system can be developed within the provided budget. 45 3Design RiskThe design needs to be made in such a way that it does not effects the performance of the system. The urgent risks associated with the rail system needs to be mitigated as soon as possible. 34 4Resource jumpEvery resource needs to be aligned in such a way that there does not occurs any resource gap (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). The new rail system should ensure that all resources are included within the budget. 44 5Improper communication Improper communication needs to be avoided so that proper communication can be implemented within the system. 35 6Stakeholder ConflictsIt is observed that risks comes along with the difference in opinions of conflicts (Schwalbe, 2015). Thus it is important to ensure that proper communication is performed between the stakeholders for avoiding such conflicts. 22 7Resource displacements This resource getting displaced as all the resources are being adjusted as per the instruction of the government. 33 8Improper estimationImproper estimation has the capability to effect the whole project. This can also leads to create an impact on the new rail system plan. 25 9Technical riskTechnical issues are related to installment of new features. This features needs to be mitigated effectively. The chances and impact is high. 33

RISK MANAGEMENT – RECOMMENDATION FOR WA Recommendation The recommendation for the new rail system will ensure better working of the system. This will help in mitigating all the risks that are likely to impact the system. The recommendation for the system are as follows: Cost: the cost involved in development of the system needs to be understood properly before implementation and allocation. This will ensure that the system is offered with proper budget and is allocated as per the new requirements of the system. The government should focus on developing the project and needs to keep in mind that the budget is maintained throughout the project. Schedule: proper schedule is needed to be maintained so that the project can be performed correctly after measuring all the requirements properly. This will ensure that the project is completed within the schedule. This will ensure that proper team development will be implemented without effecting the project. This project needs to be developed as per the schedule. Allocation for resources: tee resource allocation needs to be started at correct time so that they can ensure proper project can be implemented as per the hardware and raw materials. This will ensure that all resources are allocated properly while developing the new system. Proper resource allocation will ensure that the resources are allocated as per the need of budget planning. Thus proper allocation needs to be done so that it can ensure benefit of the project. Conclusion The report has described all the important features associated with the new rail system. The rail system is implemented within the Western Australian government with the aim of providing better transport for the passengers between the Perth and regional centres of Western Australia. The main risk associated with the implementation of new rail system is the issue regarding budget and technical parts. The technical parts needs to be assessed properly as it has the potential of effecting the new rail system. Every technical parts needs proper assessment so that it can ensure better working. In
RISK MANAGEMENT – RECOMMENDATION FOR WA addition to this it is important to ensure that proper feasibility of the new system is being performed. This will bring more profits towards the developed system. In addition to this the possible risks associated with the project are also being addressed. The major stakeholders associated with the projects are also mentioned in the report. Thus from the report it can be stated that the project will be implemented properly and successfully so that the risks can be determined at correct stage.
