RISK MANAGEMENT
Part 1a. Reaction of the three groups:
Group Group members Reaction of group members before snowfall
A Passengers
The passengers would encourage acquisition of more advanced
machine to clear snow. They passengers would develop a more
positive about the airport. This would develop stronger perception
about risk management among passengers.
B Airline owners
The airline owners would support the plan because using
advanced snow clearing machines, the airline companies would
be able to save their carriers from being damaged by snow. This
would reduce the aircraft maintenance costs which the airline
companies would be required to incur to maintain the aircrafts.
C Airport owners
The airport owners would show positive reaction to the proposal
of acquiring more advanced snow removing machine. This is
because faster clearance of snow would enable the airport owners
to resume normal operations in the airport like mobilization of
staff post snowfall as well as takeoff and landing of flights. This
would reduce the disruption of business operations in the airport
post snowfall which would reduce to the revenue loss. In other
words, acquisition of advanced snow clearing machine would
lead to reduction of revenue risks

RISK MANAGEMENT
Part 1b. Influencing perception of the group authorizing expenditure need to improve snow
clearing capability:
The risk manager should hold meeting with the group which would authorize the
payment to acquire advanced snow removal machinery. It can be pointed out that most of the
airports and airline companies are public limited companies operating under strict vigilance of
the union governments of their respective home countries. This means that the main stakeholders
groups which authorize the expenditures in these companies to modernize facilities are
shareholders or investors and the governments. It can be pointed out that the risk managers while
gaining support and approval of these two stakeholders would require to focus in the following
aspects:
Risk management:
The risk managers should point out that risk management benefits which the airport
authorities would be able to enjoy by acquiring the new modern snow removal facilities. Nahvi
et al.(2018) mentions that snowfall causes serious risks to the airport operations. The snowstorms
can result in serious risks both to the airports and flights. First of all snow reduces visibility of
pilot of flights in air. This results in development in incorrect measurement of distance and
surrounding objects including flights. This results in pilots taking incorrect decisions which
results in flights to crash. This contributes to flight damage. This also results in injury and even
death on onboard personnel and passengers. Thus, it is evident that snow storms result in severe
loss to manpower of the airline companies as well as loss of passengers. It can be pointed out
that snow storms cannot be controlled or prevented (Chruzik, Wiśniewska and Fellner 2016).
However, the airport authorities can take steps the reduce losses the airport, the flights and
passengers suffer due to snow storms. It can be pointed out in this respect that the modern snow
