Robotics is defined as the use, development and design of robots that are the automated
machines which can achieve various tasks in various scenarios. Initially, the robots were
commercialized at the time of integration in factory assembly line for streamlining and
improving the manufacturing productivity. The initial popular implementation of robotics got
started in car based industry. In present era, the robots are increasingly used for completing the
tasks which are tedious or not safe for the humans which has led to integration of the robots in
transportation and mining industries and military (Arkens, et al., 1998). The application of robots
may get doubled by 2020. It can impact the operation of the business and countries economy all
across the globe. Blinz Inc. is an Artificial Intelligence Company which is situated in Brisbane. It
manufactures robotics as a sideline business for the domestic use as well as in manufacturing
industries, transport and mining and domestic use across Australia and is planning to expand the
operations of the organization in to the regions of Asia.
Report Objectives
This report will give a brief definition of the technology of Robotics and will mention its current
use in various industries. Furthermore, it will propose the incorporation of robotic technology
into Blinz Inc. in Future. The long term and short term option from geographical and industrial
perspective will be highlighted for implementing the strategy in Blinz Incorporation.
About Robotics
Robotics is division of engineering which involves the operation, manufacture, design and
conception of robots (Ferber, et al., 1999). The field intersects with the bioengineering,
nanotechnology, mechatronics, artificial intelligence, computer science and electronics. The
author of the science fiction Isaac Asimov is given the whole credit to be the first person to use
this term robotics which he used in short fable composed in year 1940. In that story, he

the time when they got integrated in the factory based assembly lines for streamlining and
improving the manufacturing based productivity. Initially, in the beginning the implementation
of the robotics got popularized in the industry of cars. In 21st century, the robotics have been
increasingly used for completing the task which tedious or unsafe for the humans which has
caused the integration of the robots towards transportation and mining industry as well as in
military.
Current Use of Robotics Technology
A vast number of robotics engineers have to consistently deal with industrial robots in the
careers. However, the industry based robots along with robots in various tasks in various fields
and tasks as well as the quantity of the jobs who are trusted with robots are steadily growing. The
robots can be divided various types as per the applications and by dividing the robots as per the
industry. Robots are the cost saving and efficient innovation which may help the farmers of

Types and Variety of Robots
In today’s world, the robots are doing many various tasks in various fields and categories and

that the best possible way divide the robots is as per theory and application.
Industrial robots: the industrial robots are the robots which are used in the environment of
industrial manufacturing (Jones, et al., 2015). Often these are the articulated arms particularly
created for the applications like painting, material handling and welding etc. if it is purely judged
by the application, it can include some of the automation based guided vehicles as well as other
robots.
The example of the global modelling robot is the one which is used by Museum of Art in Los
Angeles. The robot gives patrolling to the building in night by watching out for the obstacles and
walls and also looking for the damaging chemicals, humidity and smoke.
Household or Domestic Robots: the robots which are used at home are categorized under
household or domestic robots (Geraci, et al., 2012). These forms of the robots involve many

which deliver supplies, food trays, medicine and records in the hospital. It is able to find the way

disposal robots. Often the robots which were initially developed for the purpose may be put to
use in the rescue and search, law enforcement and other fields related to it (Brooks, et al., 1986).
Another example is robotic lawn mower called Paulan/Weedeater that was developed in the year
1994. The machinery keeps away from road as well as from off-limit property by using wire

robots probably are most advantageous to average household due to less production cost as well
as its adaptability.
