INTRODUCTION
This report will examined theory behind the Rodrik’s Trilemma and sources about the
theory. Along with approaches that could keep the estimation for growth and different countries
for which the economics that could take place.

Theory behind Rodrik's Trilemma
Rodrik's Trilemma is totally based on various assumptions that fundamental tensions
exits between various National democracies (Rahat, and et.al 2017). To reduce the overall
tension country can easily restrict that democracy they can simply limit globalisation and also
they have the power to go globalised democracy as well. By having these three political changes
and responses each and every country can get rid of the tension from this theory. The story
focuses on 3 policies and goals of nations which every country has to follow first test democracy
and other is globalisation and Sovereignty. So Brazil and United Kingdom also going through
from this trilemma tension because these countries also getting thread from globalisation.
Due to increased in globalisation their local companies are facing lot of issues because
now customers are having a lot of choices the king easily buy products from any country
because most of the products are being sold by different companies who belong to different
countries. Apart from this democracy is also important factor which every political party of each
and every country wants to work on it especially United Kingdom in Brazil is concerned with
democracy as well. The main objective of this theory is that to reduce the complex reality of each
and every country and provide them impossibility theorem so that the overall Global economic
and increase. Therefore this theory states that democracy global economy and national
sovereignty are incompatible. Every company needs to work on this so that they can easily get
growth in the world( Vlados, 2021). Along with this when the countries are operating on the
national level it is their responsibility that day fulfil the needs of international economy as well
and provide more quality products and services to people in the entire globe so that they will get
more choices and by doing this the overall economy of the entire globe will get increased.
Application of Roderick trilemma theory
The overall economic index and condition of Brazil and United Kingdom is well-
managed. United Kingdom has index of 81.91 (Befort, 2021). On the other hand Brazil has just

half of United Kingdom as the index of Brazil is 41.40. It has been analysed that both the
countries have different Roderick’s dilemma approach it can be possible due to political changes
of countries.
Political
Due to some political and raised in the Brazil there are various companies who are
continuously facing problems by globalisation (Herren and et.al 2020). Apart from this on the
other hand of United Kingdom their political parties also have imposed various tariff and other
charges on different countries so it will become difficult for the companies of different countries
to produce their products and Services within the United Kingdom. So they are also facing
difficulties due to Trilemma and United Kingdom has composed various tariff charges on the
companies of various countries.
Economic
Brazil want to increase the economy of their country and therefore they are allowing
different companies to set up their business in Brazil and by doing so they will provide this has
also become possible due to globalisation. Besides this United Kingdom is not focusing on their
economy because they already have various companies who are doing well for the country and
even people also like the products and services provided by the local companies. United
Kingdom does not have trilemma approach in the economy.
Technology
Brazil is continuously focusing on improvising the technology of the country because
when country will use effective and modern technology that they can produce more quality
products and they can serve different countries (Althouse, Guariniand Porcile, 2020). So with the
help of Trilemma approach Brazil is purchasing new and advanced technology from different
countries of the globe. Apart from this United Kingdom already have advanced technology
therefore they do not want to purchase same technology from different countries and their food
they are focusing on improvising their own technology and they want to sell such technology to
other countries.
Political aspect
Brazil and United Kingdom both have different politics and policies as well. Brazil
continuously working to increase their overall profitability and growth by providing more
employment opportunity to their people apart from this United Kingdom is concerned with

different rules and regulations they want to impose tariff and other two so that people and
companies of other countries cannot operate in there National territories and they can’t sell
product at high prices to the people of United Kingdom. So United Kingdom is continuously
focusing on helping their local suppliers and companies.
Democracy index value
Democracy index value is used to measure pluralism civil liberties and political culture. It
has been seen that democracy of Brazil has become more autocratic from past few decades. This
country has black sliding which is not phenomenon restricted by Brazil. But it has harm the
overall democracy of this country (Goodhand, and et.al 2021). On the other hand United
Kingdom has effective democracy and even people and not opposing United Kingdom and their
politics because this country is continuously doing well for their people and especially for the
development of people and country. Along with this it has been stated that the overall democracy
index of United Kingdom is higher than Brazil. Economy of United Kingdom is also higher as
compared to Brazil. The Indus of democracy states that only 163 countries have proper
democracy in their Nation and this is helpful for the policy makers for civil societies so that we
can work effectively within the country.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it had been seems that political, technology, economics and social
factor that could make their business for being more developed. Along with this Brazil and UK
country are being more growth and make their helpful for being keeping policy maker and
keeping civil societies for which the effectively countries that could keep them for being growth.
