Introduction
The report primarily discusses the role and activities of a health promotional campaign and how
it can affect the Australian society. In the discussion several other points like, public health
issues, role of pharmacy, role of the health care unit, the marketing of the campaign, the future
result of the campaign and so on are also discussed with specific illustrations. The risk factors
associated with the health campaign along with other obstacles and barriers are also discussed
and analyzed in this report. A health campaign involves people of a society and thereby the
lifestyle, the health condition, the socio-economic condition of the people also becomes
important.

Brief about the campaign
The campaign will mainly focus on the issue related to smoking within Australians and it is one
of the most common reasons for premature death within the Australian society and how the
repeated smoking can cause associated health concerns. The common health problems associated
with Smoking are respiratory problems, cancer and cardiovascular problems as well as renal
problems; also the smoking can cause many associated health problems. The pharmacists can
help in combating the problem. The campaign will target the common people of the Australian
society and will also aim at spreadingawareness among the people about their addiction and the
social and health problems caused by it. Smoking a cigarette causes the body to come in contact
with more than 7000 chemicals, which are all dangerous and among them more than 50

chemicals are associated with cancer and cancer. Not only the smoker but the people inhaling the
fumes (passive smokers) especially children might become more prone to respiratory problems.
There are also problems like infertility in both men and women. Nicotine, the cause of addiction
among Smokers is hard to resist and makes it difficult to quite for people. While the campaign
will have several well trained doctors, nurses and pharmacists to make people know about the
adverse effects of the smoking and how it affects people around them, and encourages them to
quite the smoking habit. The campaign will be held in different localities, and will cover the
cities as well as the sub-urbanites of Australia (Siegel, 2000)

A pharmacist pays a multiple roles in the health care system of a country and is responsible for
