Question 1s
Carl is not getting the needed attention. It was only on the first day that Carl had an
opportunity to interact and engage her colleagues at work; she got attended to on the first day.
The rest of the days Carl would come and sit alone at the front desk having no one to talk to
except the clients who were making it even worse. The lack of attention makes Carl feel low and
causes her self-esteem to go down yet there was nothing she would do except get home and get
herself a bottle of wine to forget anything or frustration at work. The other need that Carl lacks is
personal time. Lacking personal time means you are overloaded with work and tasks in the
workplace such that you cannot afford to get time for yourself in doing something different from
the work activities. This could probably cause rise in stress levels. According to Kendrick &
Kendrick (2016) lack of personal time is the root cause of stress levels and time wastage. As
much as Carl wanted to help people and enjoy the job she had been longing for- sitting the front
desk, she would not enjoy the job because of the huge work load. Considering that she was still
fresh, there was nothing she would do concerning the delegated duties by other staff members. It
is most probable that they were taking her for advantage. This much workload would relentlessly
cause her to regret why she chose the job but the fact remains that she would have loved to work
at the front desk and any other activity if she got personal space.
Question 2
Interference with the needs causes a whole mess in Carl’s life within that period that
she worked at the clinic. Interfering with those needs that she considered necessary caused her to
start developing stress and related health problems. Work frustrations would most often make her
think so much on why she cannot do the way she desired before or how Daniel expected of her.
It is possible that she wished she could reverse the situation but that would pose two opposing
