INTRODUCTION
Information technology is the study as well as the use of the systems known as computers
as well as telecommunication in order to store, retrieve as well as send information to the end
user. Accenture is a multinational company which is also located in UK. The organisation was
founded in the year 1989 with its headquarter located in Ireland, Dublin. The key people of the
company are Marjorie Mager as a chairperson and Julie Sweet as a CEO Bae. and Kim, (2018).
The company provides various services such as financial services, strategies, digital
technologies, operational as well as consulting. Here in the study frequent use of computing
terminologies are used. What are issues related to technology in social as well as ethical ways are
discussed in detail Altun, (2015). The various types of network and intranet as well as internet is
also discussed in detail. What are the roles of information technologies in the management as
well as stages in the development of the system are also described in detail.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Role of IT in success of Accenture.
IT has a immence role in Accenture due to which the company have gain many
advantage and the same are mentioned below:
Fast service
Due to IT Accentue is able to provide fast services to its client and which has resulted in
increase in its customers and profit making. IT has made very easy for the company to reach its
clients and resolve the issues which are hindering their steps.
Security
IT has also helped Accenture to maintain secrecy of data by which the business insider
information can be restored over the internet. The information is in bulk amount can not be
continued on the same day so in order to store the information it is necessary to have security of
the data.
Computing terminologies which are used frequently are
There are various computing terminologies which are used frequently and are as follows:
World Wide Web
As per the view of Barna and et.al., (2018) It is a system which is operated using the
wiring, which is very popular. The data travel over various platforms such as email, social media

etc. Accenture uses WWW at almost time when the information required by the user is searched
over the internet.
Web browser
Web browser is the program which is used for the navigation between the web page and
WWW. Web browser only provide means to the pages to be viewed. Example are internet
explorer, Mozilla Firefox, chrome, etc. Accenture uses mostly google chrome and Mozilla
Firefox.
Modem
According to Padhi and Moharana, (2018) It is a medium of communication in which no
sound or no voice is required instead the communication is done digitally. It converts the
complicated language to a simple language in order to smoothly communicate.
Cookie
They are very useful for the user and are derived in a text file after visiting a website.
They are used to deriving information of the user by finding out who is the user which help the
user to easily return to the website next time.
Firewall
It is used as a software of the computer that restrictions or stops the data which is allowed
to flow. They are used as a blocker of traffic which is not desirable by preventing the website
from the malware.
All these terminologies are very much popular and are widely used by the Accenture and
the other user as well.
Ethical as well as social issues
There are some of the ethical as well social issue in the information technology usage in
Accenture and the same are discussed below:
Ethical issues
As per the view of Ilo and et.al., (2018) Ethics are the moral obligation which a
organisation has to consider for the purpose of not harming any individual belief, it is based
completely on what is right and what is wrong and non compliance of the issues are considered
as ethical issues.
Cyber crime

Cyber crime is a huge ethical issue which Accentuate can face in spite of bulk security in
which there is always chances of hacking and misusing the website which can cause huge
financial loss to the company. Cyber crime can result in stealing of important data and which can
result in issues such as blackmailing, threatening and spamming.
Infringement of Property rights and Patents
According to Prasetyawan and et.al., (2019) There is always a risk in information
technology that the data can be copied and from the copied data of Accenture the company
which is copying the data can use the data for their personal benefit. There are chances that
hacker may copy the software which is providing productive results and use the same in their
workplace. Patents and copyrights are the key towards the protection of data.
Social issues
Social issues are the issues which is affecting the personal life of individuals and the
society.
Accountability issue
It is sometime difficult to know who is accountable because if an employee of the
Accenture has its own password and ID and someone uses it under the employee absence then it
will count under the accountability of the employee who has used the ID and password and not
the actual employee who has done it using other's.
Social media issue
Misusing the Information Technology data can be misused with the purpose of creating a
fake Facebook or Instagram profile and the same can be used for terrorist activities. This can be
very harmful as the cops will directly approach the person on whose name the profile have been
created. Accenture if doing social media advertisements using algorithms and other technical
tools then the same can be hacked by the hackers and the profile can be used to promote their
own business. For example if Accenture make a page on Facebook and the same is for promoting
the services and if someone who is a professional hacker hacks the social media page then it will
benefit the person hacking the page and the person will grab the customers and the traffic.
Different types of networks.
According to Jiang and.et.al., (2018) There are different types of networks which are
used for the specific purpose in order to communicate with the users.
LAN

Local Area Network is a network which is used for covering the area which is short such
as a building, home or a school. LAN is operated by a single operator and it also uses single IP
address.
WAN
According to Sharan and et.al., (2018) Multiple LANs are used in WAN in order to cover
large geographical area. IP router used to maintain both the LAN as well as WAN networks. The
WAN network is not owned by a single operator but multiple individuals plays a dominant role
in it.
MAN
Metropolitan Area Network is used in the Metropolitan Cities in order to provide them
high speed of internet. The connection focuses on connecting the point-to-point networks in
which a various LANs are connected in order to expand its area.
SAN
According to Stenson, (2019) Storage Area Network are used for the enhancing the
accessibility in the storage devices in which the cost of the data transfer is low. SAN can't be
accessed through LANs.
Differences
LAN vs WAN
 LAN covers small area of network whereas WAN covers large area.
 In WAN multiple LANs are connected whereas in WAN there is no such concept.
 The area is small the speed of LAN is slow as compare to WAN.
 The maintenance of the LAN is easy as compare to WAN.
MAN vs SAN
 SAN network is for the storage and there is LAN in it whereas MAN has use multiple
LAN networks.
 MAN covers larger area of network whereas SAN cover small area of network.
 The various devices are interconnected using SAN where as multiple LANs are used to
cover various local areas of the city.
Accenture uses WAN as the area of operation of the company is large and which helps
the company in order to gain communication advantage in which the company can easily convey
its message towards a wide area.

The use of intranet as well as internet in the business covering importance.
Internet
According to Kanyuga, (2019) Internet is a network of a computer which is used to
connect various information as well as communication devices in order to quickly deliver the
message of the company. There are protocols which are standards and are used for the same. For
Accenture the benefits or importance of using internet is as follows:
Helps in covering a large area
Internet is a medium in which Accenture can connect with large area of people by which
the company can easily sell the product and with the advance features it can do advertisement to
a target group of audiences in which various tools such as SEO, SEM etc. are used. This also
help the company in saving a large amount of cost and time.
Keep updated
As per the view of Tang, (2018) Using the internet the company keeps itself updated in
order to gain knowledge what is going in the market. Keeping oneself updated also leads to
gaining competitive advantage over other companies in which how can Accenture can be better
from its competition in any particular field which can be in sales production etc.
Interanet
A restricted network which is also known as a private network is made in the intranet by
using the software known as World Wide Web. The importance of intranet are as follows:
Improving the communication known as internal communication
According to Tawafak, Romli and Arshah, (2019)Intranet is the best medium which can
be used for improving the internal communication. Accenture the various departments can
provide quick update using the intranet in which the production department can provide
information to the sales department that the product is ready for sale.
Helps in improving the engagement of the employees.
Using the intranet the engagement of the employees can be improved by sending a
separate message which can be delivered to all the departments of the firm in which the
employees will feel they are valued in the organization. This will give a feeling to them that they
should also contribute at the best level due to this. This will make the employees more motivated
towards the firm and this leads to less chances of leaving from the firm.

Role of information technologies in Management.
There is a vast role of IT in the management of Accenture which are described below:
Information technology in financial management.
According to Kristiawan and Muhaimin (2019) Information technology is very useful in
the management of finance in which the Accenture finance can be managed by using various
platforms like online payment via debit as well as credit card to it creditors. Finding out what are
the due dates of the debtors as well as creditors in order to track the records. Information
technology also plays a role in which what are best sources a company must invest are
mentioned. This helps Accenture to gain the financial data using various IT software of known
as SAP FI CO which is used in Accenture in order to track financial records and financial
control.
IT in sales management
According to Xie and et.al., (2019) Information Technology is also very helpful in
managing the sales of Accenture in which the Technology manages the sales fo the company by
knowing whether the product is successfully reached to the customers and also the payment is
successfully made by the customers. This helps the company to track the product as well as the
customer. IT also helps the sales department by gather information from the other departments
quickly and in a cost effective manner then provides the same to the other departments as well.
This helps the management of Accenture know which product is having maximum sales and
which needs more focus.
IT in production management
IT helps the production department by knowing what are the requirements of the product
from the client in which Accenture quickly make changes in the product and then delivers the
product to the client as per the requirement of the client.
IT in Customer Relationship
Information Technology is also very useful in the managing the customer relationship in
which the software used by Accenture is the Customer Relationship Management in which the
customers which have given higher number of sales are pinched in order to drive the most
profitable product. Management of the relationship is must in order to increase sales and income
and the same is possible by using IT.

System Development stages and its different stages.
According to Lai, (2018) Different stages of system Development includes the process in
which planning, analysis, design, implementation and maintenance is there and the cycle keeps
on repeating the items of it again and again. The cycle is used to produce premium quality
information technology system. There are various stages in the Life development cycle and are
as follows:
Capture as well analysis
This is the step known as the first step of software development in which the
requirements are gathered from the clients. The requirements are then analysed on the basis of
what is needed and what is available (System Development Stages. 2019). The key people
involved in it are the mangers and also the stakeholders.
Design
According to Yadav and et.al., (2018) In that phase the design of the system is made on
the basis of requirement of the client. The architecture of the software is designed using the other
hardware as well as other software.
Development or coding
On the basis of the system design the work is divided into the modules and also the units,
after which coding is started. This phase is the longest and the toughest phase of the developer in
which the professionals are indulged in a lot hard work as well as determination.
Testing
The product is tested in that phase in order to determine whether it is working in the same
condition as planned. If not then bugs or the issues are reported to the software developers in
which further testing like integrated unit testing, testing of the system etc are done.
Maintenance
This is the last phase and also the most important phase in which the after using the
product by the customers whatever may be the issues are sorted out on time. IT is endless and
needs continuous process in which the products are maintained throughout life.
ANALYSIS AS WELL DISCUSSION
AS per the analysis it is found that IT plays a very important role in Accenture because it
helps to manage cost, manage the work effectively and efficiently (Nakao and et.al., 2015).
Information technology is useful in order to communicate fast with the users and also it is a very

cheap means of communication in which wide area is covered. As per the analysis it is also
found that IT has transformed the activities of the Accenture in which the company is operating
very fast in order to get quick results. Earlier the company used to take a huge time in
maintaining good relationship with the customer and also there was huge cost in order to do
financial management and manages its operation in Accenture but after emergence of
information technology it all changed.
Now it is very easy to track product, known delivery status, feedback and also receiving
payment Nugroho, Lazuardi and Prabuwono, (2018). There are also some drawbacks as well of
the information technology such as social issues which include social media page hacking,
accountibility and control issues. There are also some ethical issues such as cyber crimes and
infringement of property right issues. Information Technology has also given competitive
advantage in which the Accenture now easily get the information what are the upcoming
challenge and how to overcome them.
CONCLUSION
As per the study it is concluded without IT Accenture is nothing. IT play a major role in
each and every department of the Accenture. Using IT company can easily convey its message to
the user and it can be done in more attractive way in order to make understand the users. There
different stages in system development cycle such as capture, design, development, testing as
well as maintenance, all these are the phases which help the company in order to develop a
effective software.
