The candidate has to have the ability to demonstrate the aptitudes and interests in the systems or the technical services associated work. String analytical and problem-solving skills are required.The person also needs to have core expertise over the library functions and the interrelated workflows between all the departments. The candidate needs to have an experience in administering an entire library system (symphony preferred). The ability to manage new acquisitions of new library materials and relevant budget functions. The person needs to have the ability to synthesize information and analyze the important requirements Personal skills– The applicant has to be warm hearted, dedicated, honest, and a mature evangelical Christian. The person has to have the desire to work and serve the community, family and church in the best possible way. He needs to have commitment to the firm he would be associated with and respect the mission and vision of TWU, standards and regulations. The person should have a good reputation in the society and have to be an impeccable character and at the same time a pleasing personality. The candidate needs to possess the ability to stay positive in challenging situations too. After examining my own skills and strengths alongside the job description, the most interesting parts of the description I found was that I would be facilitate to know and operate various new technologies and software which have already been an area of attraction for me. Since I am a tech-savvy person, I like to play with different technologies and applications. The library systems include the interlibrary loan system, RelaislLL, and EBSCO's EDS, the library's

I have previously worked with the RelaislLL but I need to know about the other software so that I can handle that software easily to the benefit of the library. Based on the analysis of my skills and strengths alongside the job description, I believe that I need to grow up my confidence level to operate all my jobs well. I need to focus on my pressure handling abilities. I would rather like to work as a team so that the tasks could be divided among few people and if someone needs any help, the other could support. In my last two jobs I have worked single but it is also true that there was little amount of tasks for me to complete. I have experience in school libraries that included limited boos and related works. Since, this is a University library, the pressure is definitely going to be high. I believe that there are so many benefits of team work such as it offers differing perspectives, improved efficiency and provides good learning opportunities. It promotes workplace synergy. Interview- I have interviewed the library technician of North Island College, Canada, Mr. Henry (name has been changed for privacy purpose) over the phone in order to know his experience in this field. He answered that it was he loved children when I asked him how did he decide to work in the school library environment. He said that he got the job via written test and personal interviews. He said that he likes to be surrounded by books is the best part of his work and reads them in free time. The time- schedule of the work is less liked by him in the work environment. He suggested that in depth knowledge of system management is most important to be a successful library technician.
