1. Introduction
The case study analysis aims in identifying the process by which ethical practises
contribute to community wellbeing. It is essential for every individual to follow high ethical
standard so that a better community can be built. The ethical practises are associated with the
understanding and expectation of the business responsibility. However, there are certain
challenges in the field of business ethics that are needed to be considered. This case study
analysis aims in evaluating the role of ethical practises in community well being. The moral
character of an individual is important for overall community excellence. The fundamental
characteristics of the institutions of business are associated with following of specific ethical
techniques and guidelines. Thus, ethics can be described as societal moral as, it provide a
perception of right and wrong processes and guides in decision making. The most basic instinct
of life is self preservation that results in self oriented thinking and actions. The role of ethical
practises in community wellbeing is discussed in the following paragraphs.
2. Literature Review
According to Wang, Cheney and Roper (2016), virtue ethics play a significant role in
understanding and expectation of the business responsibility. However, there are certain
challenges in the field of business ethics that are needed to be considered. A business should
always be aligned with social well being. Human wellbeing comprises of a number of
dimensions from emotional wellbeing to a healthier life. Appropriate ethical action helps in
securing social and human wellbeing (Wang, Cheney and Roper 2016). The roots for community
wellbeing lie in the approaches that are undertaken to ensure community wellbeing. Fundamental

ethical practices helps in employing a trusting co operative and socially engaged work
environment, which in turn helps in social wellbeing. The theory of virtue ethics is therefore
considered as a guiding principle of ethical conduct. The virtue ethics is considered as an ethical
approach that emphasizes the virtues and moral character. According to Amisano (2017), the
financial crisis and ethical behaviors of business leaders are under scrutiny. The leaders often
face uncertainty regarding the ethical leadership, behaviors and their impact. It is often seen that
the small business involves a multiple facets of behavior and decision making (Ridley-Duff and
Bull 2015). An incorrect or less idea and understanding of ethical leadership might result in
improper decision making, which in turn can affect the social wellbeing. In this context, the
ethical principles are needed to be identified. These include honesty, integrity, loyalty fairness
and others. There are 12 ethical principles, which contribute to community wellbeing. It is
corporate social responsibility of business organization to correlate with a long term financial
sustainability of a business (Trevino and Nelson 2016). It is the responsibility of the managers to
properly identify and correlate with the ethical principles, which can relate to community
wellbeing. Business ethics is considered to be rules, standards codes and principles that provide
the guidelines associated with human behavior that is morally right along with truthfulness in a
specific situation. Business ethics relate to the conception of what is right and what is wrong,
which in turn adds to the community wellbeing.
Ethics can be defined as a study of moral duty and obligation that is essential to consider
for community wellbeing. Thus, it can be said that moral and virtue ethics has a significant role
to play in ensuring community wellbeing. If there is a significant decline in the ethical behavior
of a society, it might lead to trouble. Socialization helps in inculcation of the ethical values and

appropriate ethical knowledge contributes to the development of better community. According to
the professional code of ethics, it is the responsibility of an individual to maintain honesty and
integrity in their work. This honesty reflects to the community and contributes to community
well being (Benn, Edwards and Williams 2014). Human and community wellbeing is associated
with a number of dimensions that include emotional wellbeing in order to lead a healthy life.
Without the understanding of correct ethical behavior, there will be a chaos and confusion
(Mikesell, Bromley and Khodyakov 2013). Thus, ethical action helps in securing social and
human wellbeing. Therefore, it is the responsibility of each individual to follow proper ethical
methods and approaches in order to ensure community wellbeing.
3. Method
It is essential to identify the method that is followed in case study analysis. For this case
study analysis, a secondary research method is chosen. In order to understand the process by
which the ethical practices contribute to community wellbeing, it is essential to identify the
secondary sources that address the same topic. An extensive literature review has been
undertaken in order to understand the process by which the ethical practices contribute to
community wellbeing. In the literature review section of this report, various academic sources
related to the topic are reviewed. The academic sources of the literature review are found to be
appropriate for evaluation of the research topic (Desmet and Pohlmeyer 2013). The different
ethical theories and concepts are evaluated in the literature review section. One of the most
significant benefits of making use of secondary data sources is that a large number of data can be
gathered (Walliman 2017). Since the data is collected from published literature and journals,
legitimate data can be gathered (McNiff 2013). The finding from the literature review and the

community wellbeing. Thus, the use of various data resources is considered to be appropriate for
this research project.
4. Discussion
The key finding of the study indicates that ethical practices play a significant role in
community wellbeing. It has been observed that choice of correct ethical practices and principles
help better management of a business, which in turn contributes to community wellbeing. In this
context, the ethics of community is needed to be defined. The ethics of community is defined as
a moral responsibility of engaging in communal processes. The ethical issues are needed to be
identified in order to ensure that the individual choose the right alternative in situation of ethical
dilemma. According to Mikesell, Bromley and Khodyakov (2013), ethics can generally be
defined as norms that help in distinguishing between the acceptable behavior and the
unacceptable behavior. The community wellbeing is associated with following of appropriate
ethical principle. According to the principle of beneficence, a person is required to be treated in
an ethical manner. This can be achieved by respecting their decisions and by protecting them
from harm (Lloyd, Mey and Ramalingum 2014). Following ethical principles are important for
community well being mainly because it maximizes the potential benefits associated with a
society.
Community wellbeing encompasses the social, economic, environmental, political and
cultural condition that is essential to flourish and fulfill the potential of an individual. It is the
responsibility of the individuals to understand their ethical responsibility towards the society so
that community wellbeing can be achieved (Moncur 2013). An appropriate knowledge about the

ethical principles and virtue ethics help in offering social support and enhancing the social trust
thereby establishing the community wellbeing. Therefore, one of the significant needs for
ensuring community well being is a clear idea of the virtue ethics. All members is a community
are needed to be treated with fairness and justice which can be achieved with the help of proper
and appropriate ethical practices.
The literature review section analyses the major reason behind the need of an individual
to have a proper knowledge of ethical principle for community wellbeing. Communal
involvement and community well being is important in order to build and develop a better future.
Various researches about the ethical and community wellbeing indicate that virtue ethics and
different ethical principles promote community engagement. Community engagement is the first
step towards community wellbeing. An organizational environment is important for promoting
the ethical conduct in workplace. For creation of an ethical organization, the commitment of the
top management with the ethical principle is needed. An individual’s perspective towards ethical
thinking reflects in social well being.
The correct ethical practices have a positive impact in community wellbeing. The ethical
principle is based on the core values and standards of an individual. The core values of an
individual reflect to the community wellbeing (Baer 2015). A person having an idea core ethical
principle is expected to educate the community as well, which in turn can contribute to the
community wellbeing. Thus, it can be said that ethical practices contribute positively in
community wellbeing.
