Federal government plays a vital and important role in healthcare sector. Federal
government helps in establishing national standards or care, creating national programs that
helps in fulfilment of healthcare needs and requirements of people of United States (Barbosa,
2018). Not only this, federal government is also responsible for providing adequate funding for
developing innovative ways to deliver, monitor, and improve our health care. It is one of the
most important role of federal government i.e. to publicly fund health care system so that they
can develop best health care system that serves United states people’s healthcare needs by
demonstrating strong leadership.
Difference between licensure and accreditation
There are various kinds of differences between licensure and accreditation, some of them
have been explained below:
Licensure is provided by governmental authority that typically includes different kinds of
academic elements such as: degree or examination passing. Whereas, Accreditation is ways in
which quality level is shown by facilities in healthcare and facility commitment that helps them
in delivering their services in the best way they can (Flanders & Baker, 2020).
Licensure is a simple way through which license can be gained by healthcare
professionals. Accreditation is a way for gaining credentials in this healthcare industry so that
overall quality and standards of their services can be maintained and are not suppressed.
Licensing is basically to ensure public safety and the well-being of consumers of
healthcare sector, whereas Accreditation is to ensure that quality of services provides to
customers of healthcare sector is not compromised (Flanders & Baker, 2020).
