INTRODUCTION
In the tourism industry, heritage places contribute to the quality of life and cultural
identity of a communities. In the same way, the report main aim is to provide the brief history of
heritages and their importance in the eyes of a visitors. The report will describe the information
of Museum of London, Science Museum and Tate Morden during a visit. Further, report will
also describe their purpose and its target audience for each museum as well.
Heritage Interpretation
Heritage interpretation is refers to all the ways through which the information is
communicated to the visitors. Further it is also defined as any communication process designed
to show meaning and present relationship of a cultural and natural heritage to the visitors through
first hand involvement with an object (Weber, 2019). Even it is the structured approach to some
non-learning specialised who communicate the ides about the some specific place to people.
Role of Interpretation and impact on visitors
Interpretation mainly designed for some local people who help visitors to understand the
place which they are visiting. Therefore, the role of interpretation is also depends upon the
places on which the visitors are visit. For instance, if pWeber, E. A., 2019eople visit heritage
places in their own country, then interpretation assumes some cultural understanding and beliefs
about the heritage. Therefore, interpretation also aim to let people explore, question and debate
so that it maintain the relationship between them (Role of Interpreter, 2019). Further, the
interpretation creates positive impact upon visitors such that it provides better experience on the
tourist visit, provide them deep knowledge about particular place or heritage. They also provide
guest with sense of belongingness and this makes the guest more interested to stay longer and
even come back for next visit. On the other side, it is also realised that if more visitors will visit
for a specific place for its tourist attraction, then the local government will have more fund to
develop other places and the interpretation also wind ways to interact with the visitors and as a
result, guest will be encouraged to spend more in the terms of accommodation and entertainment
if they are comfortable with the interpretor. However, if interpretation is done in proper way,
then they feel like they can easily purchase the things if it was translated properly to them.
Museum of London
London is slow to recover after the death of Black and its population were also remained
low for 200 years but the trade and industry is flourished and now the London become one of the
1

most wealthy among all. Such that the conflict had a complex cause and there are many civil war
also happened. To safeguard London from Royalist attacks, citizen built variety of forts and
some of them is Museum of London.
Museum of London is located in the UK's Capital i.e. London and it is the part of
Barbican Complex of building which were created in 1960 and 1970s. During the visit it has
been analysed that the museum is redeveloped a bomb- damaged area of a city. Basically the
museum is controlled and funded by the City of London Corporation and Greater London
Authority. At the time of visit, the interpretor said that the Museum of London is one of the
largest urban history collection in the world which is consist of more than 6 million objects in it
and this thing is quite interesting (Whitehead and et.al., 2016). During the visit, I found that the
museum is comprises a series of chronological galleries that are containing original artefact,
models and pictures that clearly shows the strong emphasis on archaeological discoveries. Even
the museum's interior design is also designed in such a way that shows that London's social and
cultural life with an interactive displays and activities for all ages.
After renovation, the new city gallery formed such that it features the large street level
window with London Walls and also provides a lighted showcase for the Lord Mayor's state
Coach that takes to the streets on each November for the Lord Mayor's Show. Currently the
Museum displays around 7000 objects in which the star exhibit that includes the reconstruction
of a Georgian pleasure gardens and it has also prophetic wooden interior of the Wellclose debtor
prison cell that attracted a wide range of visitors towards it (Ross and et.al., 2016). Therefore,
the Museum of London is full of interesting stories and artefacts.
Science Museum
Science Museum is one of the favourite attraction point for tourist who visit London such
that it was founded in 1857 and it almost attracted more than 3 million visitors annually.
Currently the museum holds a collection of over 3 lac items. During the visit in Science
Museum, I found variety of famous items such as Stephenson's Rocket, Puffing Billy which is an
oldest surviving steam locomotive. Further, the Science Museum also have first jet engine, a
documentation of first typewriter, recently the museum, shows the addition of IMAX 3D cinema
that shows the science and nature documentaries and Wellcome Wing that mostly focus on the
digital technology (Morris, 2016).
