Introduction
The report is based on identifying and exploring the role of Business Information
Systems (BIS) in the context of the Euro Biomed Engineering Group. In doing so,
the paper will talk about how SAP business intelligence can be upgraded. In
general, the Business Information System (BIS) is being used to manage various
information technology-based functions. However, there are some issues and
challenges faced by companies before and after the implementation of the BIS
systems. In addition, most of the firms have adopted enterprise resource
planning (ERP) systems for their business development and growth. Here, ERP
systems include various IS-systems, as per the requirement of a firm, such as a
customer relationship management, strategic information system, supply chain
management, human resources management, and many more (Bharadwaj, et
al., 2013). This report will discuss the benefits of the ERP systems in the Euro
Biomed Engineering Group (EBEG). There are various internal factors, which are
posing challenges and issues in front of the group. Thus, this report will provide
key factors for the creation of a strategic information system for the chosen
company.
In addition to that, the report is going to explain the benefits of ERP as well as IT
projects in the firm. The discussion is going to identify risks and thereby offer
their mitigation strategies for future business development. In this context, the
report will offer diverse MIS or BIS plans for the project management system in
relation to business growth. While providing critical factors for project
management, this paper is going to discuss project management approaches.
The EBEG is aiming to redesign the BIS while reducing or optimizing the risks,
threats, and violations of the existing information system. In this way, a
discussion about the current and future challenges of the group, while using ERP
and other BIS systems will take place.
Benefits of MIS
There are many usages of an ERP system to manage business functions as well
as other processes, which will help in the growth and success of the company.
The management information system (MIS) system has included many functions
to manage the basic and advanced processes of a business. The company has
organized all the records in a proper format. The company has required a

security system to improve the performance of the system as well as avoid risks
(Baars & Kemper, 2008).
MIS systems have used security algorithms for managing various things, such as
data management, security management, and many others. In addition, the
group can improve the basic services of business functions, such as marketing,
sales, customers relationship, and many others (Chen, et al., 2012).
There is some important application of ERP systems, which can be used for
improving the productivity and performance of the company. There are many
things in the ERP systems, which can be designed using an agile project. In
addition, the firm can include new things, which is beneficial for their business
(Hevner & Chatterjee, 2010).
BI is a hard and fast process, architectures, and technologies that convert
uncooked records into significant data that drives profitable commercial
enterprise actions. It’s miles a collection of software and offerings to convert
facts into actionable intelligence and information (Vercellis, 2011). BI is the best
way to improve the information for decision making. Besides, an organization
can get success because of its technical innovations and IT-systems (Chen, et
al., 2012).
Applications of MIS
There are various applications in the MIS, which can handle different functions of
a firm, such as inventory, sales, finance, purchase, marketing, and many others.
There are some specific functions, which can be used for increasing the
performance of a firm. In addition, Business Intelligence (BI) has used for
managing various things in the group (Isik, et al., 2013). The company has used
a large scale of data, which has collected from different processes, such as
conferences, workshops, and many others. Therefore, it is difficult to work to
improve the performance of the system. BI has used advanced tools and
techniques to optimize searches (Mentz, et al., 2014).
Moreover, artificial intelligence (AI) has used for the optimization of data
management and data access control. In addition, data mining is beneficial for
many things, which can be used for data analytics and other processes. The
