In this assignment, role of Rail, Tram, and Bus Union in Australia is discussed in a vivid
manner. Collaborative bargaining and co-determination based model are also provided here. It

In this assignment, the significant role of Australian Rail, Tram, and Bus Union (RTBU) is
discussed in the light of Collective bargaining Theory and Co-determination based model of unions.
Some significant roles of RTBU are discussed here in the context of labor wages growth-related issues in
Australia. In this aspect, the NSW project is also highlighted here. RTBU, the largest labor union forever,
formed in 1993, is now comprised of 35000 members across rail, bus, tram transportation system. RTBU
is also affiliated by ACTU, the highest authority for International Transport Workers Federation along
with their 5 million workers in more than 100 countries in the world. In this assignment, their roles,
negotiation power and their implications in mitigating some significant labor-related issues in Australia
are discussed in an informative way. All of these discussions are presented in the following part.
