ROLE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN THIS MODERN ERA 2 | P a g e
Introduction
The renewable energy is a kind of energy system that produces a large amount of
electricity from various resources, for example, solar, wind, tides, geothermal heat and
waves. In last few years the use of renewable energy has increased by 20% because this
process is more effective and it has the ability to generate a large amount of power. The
main objective of this research is to understand the fundamental concept of renewable
energy and the importance of this advanced power generation technique in this modern
generation. It provides energy or power in four different areas, for example, air, water
heating, electricity generation, and rural energy services. This research report is
explaining the key features of renewable energy, and a literature review will be
conducted to increase the effectiveness of this research study.
Literature Review
Renewable energies are referred to sources of clean, inexhaustible and increasingly
competitive energy. These sources are becoming popular as the demand for energy
increases across the globe. According to Halder et al. (2015), the importance of
renewable energy is increasing because of its environment related benefits. The
renewable energy sources are clean sources of energy which means that they did not
produce greenhouse gases and they also did not cause pollution in the environment.
Parag and Sovacool (2016) provided that the pressure on organisations globally is
increasing to use renewable energy sources in order to reduce their carbon footprint
and sustain the environmental resources. The renewable energy sources did not run out
like other finite sources such as fossil fuel which means that the renewable energy
sources will not run out and it will assist in ensuring that energy sources are available
for future generations. There are many other alternative benefits of use of renewable
energy as well which benefits the society. For instance, the increasing investment in
renewable energy sources resulted in creating new jobs for individuals, and it also
supports the economic growth of the country. In the modern era, unemployment is
becoming a significant issue which is adversely affecting the economic growth of many
nations. Thus, governments are encouraging, promoting and in many cases forcing
