INTRODUCTIONRoom Divisions consist of two departments’ front office and housekeeping which are attop in the list of hotel clients. Present report is based on Hilton hotel, YHA Cambridge hostel andBelmarsh prison (Philips, 2016). This report covers the services provided by them to theircustomers. Moreover, it focuses on the legal and statutory requirements followed by hotel,hostel and prison. At last, it consists of role and responsibility of the receptionist in effectivemanagement of hotel.TASK 1In a room division department, they provide services like accommodation to thecustomers in front and back office as compared to the services offered by hostel and prisons.In Hilton Hotel they give facilities according to the demand of customer, room division in hotelis considered as the front office operation in which the work of receptionist is to handle theinformation of customers, keep guest accounts, and to provide proper rooms with respect toneeds of the customers (McLean and Elkind, 2013).Hostel services are different from hotel as in hostel the work of receptionist is to giveinformation about different types of rooms and services according to the students. Housekeepingfacility includes proper cleanliness and supply of equipments. For example, YHA Cambridge isoffering services to the students of University (Medina, 2015). In prison services, the work of receptionist is to manage the entry and exit of offenders, Inaddition to it, the needs of the offenders is analysed and assured that the correct procedure to befollowed. Belmarsh is one of the best examples of prison. TASK 2Hilton hotel provide facilities to the customers regarding accommodation and entertainpublic with their services and as per the legal practices for the safety of staff and customers theyshould issue a certificate of safety from fire department (Klee, 2015). YHA Cambridge hostel,legal and statutory requirements covers licensing of hostel including license application, securityaccess of students. In contrast to this, Belmarsh prison they maintain the records of offenders inwhich they follow legal framework of proper authoritative guide which is up to date and it isprovided to the prisoners. As per the law of UK, admission details of offenders must be recorded.1
