This case study explores the application of Roper Logan Tierney model in nursing and discusses the biological, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural factors that Kristy and her family may experience following her accident and injury. It also explains the legal concepts of consent, doctrine of necessity and enduring guardianship/NOK and how they may or may not apply to Kristy's situation. Additionally, it outlines three preoperative nursing actions required for Kristy's surgery and identifies three abnormal cues in Kristy's post-operative nursing assessment, discussing the pathophysiological or pharmacological factors that have resulted in these abnormal findings.
