SOCIALISM2 Germany remembers Rosa Luxemburg 100 years after her murder: Retrieved from The Guardian Newspaper. Research question:Why should socialism be accepted over capitalism? Thesis statement:Socialism is a superior ideology that offers equal economic opportunities for all citizens. Explanation Rosa Luxemburg who was murdered alongside her comrade Karl Liebknecht was a leader of a socialist movement that was fighting for transition from capitalism to socialism. Revolutionary socialists believe that the world should be a communist society. They argue that there is a need to integrate the working class into capitalist society. This is because it focuses on welfare of all, redistribution of resources, and better economic management (Frank, 2016). Therefore, socialism has been marked to be a better ideology compared to capitalism. These demonstrations take place every year and acts as a reminder to the Germans that the working class should not rely on social-democratic leaders and reformists to build a socialist society. Luxemburg criticized the 1stWorld War due to use of imperialism and capitalism rather than relying on moralistic basis (Kate & Josie, 2019). Luxemburg influence was felt globally. Socialism fights for economic equality such as free or subsidized healthcare, free public education, low taxes for the poor, and social security for the elderly. Capitalism, on the other hand, believes that the free market should determine the economic losers and winners in the society. However, reformist socialists argue that socialism should be adopted by every country sinceitleadstoeconomicdemocracy, internationalism, cooperativecommonownership, collective ownership, and free association (Frank, 2016)thereby leading to economic growth.
