ABSTRACTSolid waste management (SWM) is very subjective to budget controlwhere the utmost expenses are devoted to the waste collection’s travel route. The common understanding of the travel route in SWM is that shorter route ischeaper. However, in reality it is not necessarily true as the SWM compactortruck is affected by various aspects which leads to higher fuel consumption. Thus, this study introduces a solution to the problem using multiple criteria routeoptimization process integrated with AHP/GIS as its main analysis tools. The weightage of criteria will be obtained from the combination of AHPwith the distance of multiple shortest routes that will be obtained from GIS. Asolution of most optimum routes will be achievable and comparative analysis withthe currently used route by the SWM collection vehicle truck will be compared. Itis expected that the decision model will be able to solve the city travel routeproblem in MSW.Keywords: Analytical Hierarchy Process, GIS, Multiple Criteria, RouteOptimization, Solid Waste Collectionii| P a g e
