Safeguarding in Health & Social CareThere are many risk factors associated with the incidence of abuse and oneof them is social and cultural factors which has an impact on different abuseand harm effectively.Unemployment: It can be said that poor people who doest not have powerof money are vulnerable to abuse. Unemployment people are frustrated innature that they acquire the nature of abusing effectively.Health: Health is also a issue which has an impact on abuse or harm thatpatients who are dependent on others are vulnerable to abuse (Butler andManthorpe, 2016). Thus, the family members and care takers do not want towaste their money in treating such people.Social isolation: There are members in the family who are isolated fromthe societies does not have any emotions which is required to take care ofsuch people. Thus, they do not feel any obligation which leads to theabusing factors.Discrimination: Discrimination in gender, age, race, religion and colouralso leads to different abuses and harms. This also leads towards theseparation of the people from the societies effectively.DIFFERENT FORM OF ABUSESexual abuse: There are different kind of abuses and one of them is sexual abusewhich include, indecent exposure, sexual harassment, inappropriate touching andlooking at any person living in the care home. Physical abuse: Physical abuse is a stage where the workers treat any peoplephysically in terms of hitting, not giving food, punishment and more otheractivities. These things affect the old age people mentally as well.Hill croft can use existing working practices and strategieswhich will help them to minimise their abuses activitieseffectively. Domestic abuse is one of them in which aperson abuse someone else for the same at domestic level(Lewney and Boland, 2015). There are practices andstrategies which can be used to minimise all the levels ofabuse efficiently. There are so many working practices and strategiesused by management in order to minimise the abusefrom health and social care. In order to do that someare discussed below:Professional: Professionals are the supervisory linemanagers which works for keeping an eye on workersand operational activities at Hill croft nursing home. Health Care Standard Act 2010: The act is defineas the provision of regulation and legislation whichtake stands for providing medical, health and care,social organisation and voluntary firms.Reduce risk factor: Risk factors which areassociated with the incidence of abuse or self harmare divided in three categories such as social orenvironmental factors, family factors and individualfactors.Training and development: The patients willimprove and develop towards their abusing activitieswhich will help them to stand up for such preventingobligations effectively.There are number of strategies and practices willbe used by the Hill croft nursing home in orderto control and manage the abuse effectively.Patients in the firm will ensure their safety andprotection. Safeguarding: Safeguarding isa term which is based onproviding health and socialcare services which will helppatients to ensure theirsecurities and protectionagainst illegal activity.Safeguarding is a responsibilityfor everyone (Millar, Chambersand Giles, 2016). It helpspatients by providing protection from maltreatment.Equality act 2010: The management should maintain theequality between patients to avoid the inconveniences.patients have legal rights to claim against inequality.Equality should be in sex, age, work, health and safety issuesand time (Ottosdottir and Evans, 2014). This will helpmanagement to remove discrimination between patientseffectively and also to make proper and appropriatedecisions. Strengths: There are lot of benefits from which the Hill croft nursing homeprovide effective and essential services towards their patients. The Safeguardingvulnerable groups act 2006 is made by the government in order to prevent andprotect the group of vulnerable from such people who are dependent on others ornot eligible to work with these peoples effectively.Weaknesses: The disadvantage of this law that there is no method from which theworkers are investigated that weather they are doing their duty effectively or not inthe take care home (Police, 2015). The other disadvantage is that it is difficult toknow the workers intension at Hill croft nursing home. This will prevent patientstowards their securities and safety as well effectively.
