1. Introduction
Safety and health in the workplace is critical to ensuring that employees are cared for.
Employees are much more likely to work effectively in a safe atmosphere, and staff turnover
is also reduced. Thus, conducting a safety and health audit is critical to ensuring that the firm
adheres to the measures in place. A safety and health audit is critical in the case of Mirus and
will go a long way toward assuring the health and safety of workers and management.
Various issues will be explored in the article as part of the examination of the health and
safety component of Mirus. Both management and staff in the business are critical in
ensuring that all measures are committed to and amended on a regular basis. The government
mandates businesses to consider their workers' well-being in all dimensions of life and the
community in which they operate. As a result, there are several ways to do this, as detailed in
this paper.
2. An Overview of the Company
Charity and non-profit organisation Mirus (previously Opportunity Housing Trust) For
persons with impairments, these programmes help them achieve their full potential and live
satisfied and good lives. Regulations for both a domiciliary and a licenced care home have
been met by the organization's registration with the "Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales
(CSIW)". As a result, the CSSIW will conduct an inspection and audit of the organisation.
There are several legislative standards in place that allow an approach to health and safety
that connects to many other areas.
There are a variety of good reasons to keep tabs on workplace safety and health, and in this
instance, Mirus is one of them. We must have a set of aims and objectives in mind when we
carry out an operation in the workplace. The reasons involved are:
Evaluate the efficacy of safety and health management systems in accordance with the
applicable standards
Assess the risk profile and determine if it is acceptable for the organization's requirements.
Verify compliance with current legislation, established processes, and best practise.
Agree on future objectives.
Assess the risk profile and determine if it is acceptable for the organization's requirements.
The management of health and safety-related hazards is a top priority for the company, and
significant resources have been devoted to it. Everyone involved in the trips was eager to

promote the good culture and explain in great detail how they are encouraged and supported
to work safely (Black, 2012). As a result of the new health and safety precautions
implemented, a number of staff members were able to describe the precise control measures
in great detail to themselves and their colleagues. The most common problem seems to be a
lack of uniformity (Measuring Health and Wellbeing, 2014). When feasible, all service sites
and services provided throughout regions should have uniform documentation, procedures,
and behaviours. However, there is still a lot that needs to be done to guarantee that the
statutory duties are met.
3. EAP (Employee Assistance Program)
It is referred to as a programme that aids employees in dealing with personal concerns.
Identifying issues and developing solutions that don't compromise their ability to do their jobs
are two of the most important responsibilities of this position. Problems with marriage,
finances, and emotions, as well as those caused by trauma and layoffs and retirement, are
some of the issues that need to be addressed (Black, 2014). Companies must make sure their
aims and objectives are communicated to their personnel in a way that they may be achieved
by them. An employee's well-being and job performance can be discussed in a confidential
setting through confidential counselling. Employees at Mirus are open and receptive to the
counselling that is provided to them. To ensure that staff are getting the most out of their jobs,
this makes it simple to review work tactics. Employees are counselled before to downsizing
and retirement in order to prepare them for what is to come. Because of this, they are able to
adapt to their new surroundings with ease.
MIRUS works with a variety of companies and organisations to provide "professional
counselling services" for their Employee Assistance Programs.
Confidential counselling is provided by businesses to their workers as part of an "Employee
Assistance Program (EAP)". On occasion, EAP may extend to the employee's immediate
family. For workers who are experiencing personal and/or work-related difficulties, MIRUS'
Employee Help Program (EAP) can provide initial support and assistance. There are both
strengths and disadvantages to the Minus system's performance. This has an impact on the
system's performance, and suggestions are made based on that performance.

4. Strong Points
Having both employees and management involved in ensuring the programme is executed
and measures are put in place is referred to as staff engagement. Employees are involved in
decision-making, and their concerns and suggestions are taken into consideration in order to
get the greatest results. Only when employees are actively involved and their issues are
addressed will an employee support programme be effective. As a result, measures are put in
place that are more focused on the concerns, thoughts, and expectations of the workforce.
Workers at the company are treated with care and their personal difficulties are addressed
through an employee support programme. When a company like Mirus implements a
programme that includes counselling, there's a good likelihood that employees will show up
and share their concerns (Black, 2012). This will aid in identifying and addressing the issues
that are influencing employee performance. The company thinks that if employees' concerns
are addressed, their performance will improve, and hence their productivity will rise. When
employees are treated with respect and care in the workplace, they are more likely to perform
at their best.
The management of health and safety-related issues has received considerable attention and
resources. The program's aims and objectives have been met thanks to Mirus' resources and
expertise. As a result, the program's success has been driven by its ability to ensure that
employee issues are addressed and improved safeguards are put in place.
Governmental requirements are met in terms of regulation observance and the mechanisms
put in place to ensure compliance. Regulations governing workplace health and safety fall
under the purview of the government, which is mandated by law. In this situation, Mirus
complies with the rules by modifying and perfecting its programme.
Employees and management are unable to communicate effectively. Employees are free to
voice their concerns and grievances, as well as their opinions on the treatment they have
received. To acquire the appropriate reaction for their people and organisational contexts,
management next takes action.

5. Weak Points
There are certain drawbacks to implementing the safety and health program, and those who
don't will be harmed in some way. The following are included in this. When there are no
safety precautions in place, accidents might result in fatalities. Machine operations can lead to
deaths if adequate precautions are not taken, such like directions on how to use the
equipment, are not in place.
Worker's compensation: Employees who have been injured or killed while working for the
company are not compensated in any way by the organisation. This is where Mirus falls short
in their software, and as a result, workers are left to deal with the discomfort and injuries they
sustain while working.
Production Employees' aim is to meet commitments and achieve production targets will be
harmed by downtime caused by their stress and despair. We must assist our workers deal with
the challenges they face in the workplace since their productivity is affected by their well-
being. Otherwise, they take longer to produce or achieve both personal and corporate goals.
Taking time off from work to cope with personal difficulties and stressful situations is known
as absenteeism. When an employee has had enough of acting, they may decide to avoid being
with other people, resulting in their absence from work. An organization's ability to meet its
objectives will suffer as a result of these changes in performance and productivity.
6. Suggestions
As part of the job, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing a communications
plan. Employees and management must respond to information shared about the various
measures in place, as well as to comments they have received.
If you want people to know about the EAP's assistance and essential messaging, don't just
send them information once.
A promise to using a separate system as a plug-in, or agreement to utilise SLS's action
tracking system, to provide managers more practical tools to deal witMonitor legislative
changes to ensure that all versions of system of management are maintained up to date.
Periodic audits and revisions of the management/policy framework are required.

Consideration should be given to distributing the health questionnaire to any and all
employees at regular intervals so that the status of their health may be constantly monitored.
7. Data of HR
The term "HR data" refers to any data pertaining to an organization's personnel. Using this
data, managers may see how people in the business and their own personal ambitions are
aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Depending on the context, HR data may be
either qualitative or quantitative. Quantitative data is conveyed numerically, whereas
qualitative data is conveyed via the analysis of words (Van, 2017). Employees and managers
are surveyed as part of the process of gathering hr information. This is just what I needed.
The information enables the corporation to develop a better strategy that encourages
employees to stay in the company and improve their performance. ”
Employees' well-being and future performance may thus be predicted by HR managers using
this data. Using people analytics, a firm may gain a greater understanding of how its workers
interact.
In accordance with the case study, data on recruiting, turnover, and attendance is gathered.
When data are processed, it is simple to find improvements that may be made and tactics that
can be implemented (Van, 2017). Keeping track of HR data is critical to ensure that
employees' welfare and concerns are handled and that they are provided the suitable
atmosphere in which to work and produce greater outcomes.
8. Audit of Health and Safety (HS)
For the purpose of ensuring the safety of its employees, a business conducts aHealth and
Safety (HS) Audit to examine its safety and health policies and procedures in place. To
ensure that a health and safety audit is effective, it must focus on safeguarding the health and
safety of the workforce and ensuring that the company is adhering to established health and
safety laws and regulations (HSE, 2013). It is important to conduct a Health and Safety
(HS) audit on a regular basis to ensure that the health and safety safety of employees is
properly assessed and protected.
In the case study, Health and Safety (HS) audits are examined, and their impact on
employees' health is examined. As a rule, companies with safe workplaces have more

productive staff. A good working environment allows them to produce greater outcomes and
build stronger ties with each other (HSE, 2013). As an employee, your thoughts and
suggestions should be incorporated into any and all rules and regulations that are put in place
by your employer. Additionally, it allows people to voice their issues and receive timely
solutions.
9. Annual Report of the IIP (Investors in People)
According to Investors in People reports, one way to assist maintain a healthy work-life
balance is to put people's needs first. People's expectations of how an organisation should
treat and care for them must be thoroughly studied. As a result, managers can be assured that
their teams will provide greater results and have a larger impact on the company's overall
objectives. Organizations that put their trust in individuals have an easier time obtaining
certification (Smith, 2014). Accredited gold, silver, and platinum are the various degrees of
accreditation. In order to ensure that their employees are treated well and that their work-life
balance is respected, the majority of businesses throughout the world have implemented a
variety of certification levels.
By conducting an examination of the organisation, case study accreditation is possible in the
Mirus. This explains why a company's employee turnover is so high and why the majority of
its employees are underperforming. As a result, an explanation may be presented to support
various assertions with a better judgement. There will be a better understanding of the need of
treating employees properly and recognising their contributions to the company's success as a
result.
10. Surveys of Employees
A staff survey may be described as a form of questionnaire that an employee fills out in order
to get feedback that can be used to evaluate employee morale, emotions, and engagement.
Human resource managers use surveys to gather trustworthy data, so employees' names and
other personal information are kept anonymous. How the questionnaire items are worded is
designed to get the employee's focus and get them to answer (Cooke, 2020). According to the
Mirus Organization, workers' activities and engagements are important to the company. In
order to ensure that workers are well-informed about the activities they should participate in
and the rewards they may expect, survey results are critical.

11. Lagging / Leading
When payment and receipts occur in an organisation, leading is a common occurrence. In
Mirus, all of the five characteristics mentioned frequently result in a shift in the company's
finances. Five aspects and their impact on Mirus's financial situation are often given a portion
of the firm's payout. It is common for a company to lose money when one of the aspects is
behind. In Mirus, the health and safety (HS) audit is the most important part of the company.
As a result, the Mirus transaction is unaffected by the usage of this particular discovery. All
health and safety audits in the company are completed on time, and the audit results are
supplied on time, thanks to the fact that most of the money is received and paid on time.
Mirus' transaction is being held up by the time it takes employees to fill out questionnaires,
which is a problem for the company. It takes a lot of effort to create the surveys and deliver
them to employees. The financial condition of Mirus is incorrectly reported in the surveys.
Because recognising the leading and trailing aspects is critical to the company's success.
12. Conclusion
An organization's health and safety must be a top priority. Employees are much more likely to
work successfully in a safe atmosphere, and incidences of staff turnover are also reduced.
When seeking for a job, employees of an organisation weigh the safety of the workplace
when making their decision. Mirus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and charitable organisation.
Registered care home and domiciliary regulations are both registered by the "Care Standards
Inspectorate for Wales". As a result, the CSSIW will conduct an inspection and audit of the
organisation. One of the reasons health and safety measurement is crucial for the company is
to assess the efficiency of quality management systems against the necessary criteria.
Employees are involved in decision making, and their concerns and suggestions are listened
to in order to get the greatest results. Employee participation is critical to the success of an
employee support programme.
Workers' Compensation: There is no established system for compensating employees who
have been injured or killed while working for the company. Employees are compelled to deal
with the pain as well as injuries they suffer while working for Mirus because of this flaw in
their software.
