Introduction
It is imperative to assess the fact that the issues in nursing and health systems in Canada
must be treated properly. The health and the wellbeing of the nurse must be taken proper care so
that Canada can provide optimum support to the patients (Alves & Guirardello, 2016). If the
nurses are not well and fit, then odd implications will be seen on the patients, and Canada will
not be receiving proper care. Patients require vigilant monitoring and vigilant advocacy which
needs to be provided by the nurses. To do so, proper steps must be taken to ensure that the nurses
are protected in the workplace, and Canada must be helped out of different kinds of illness
Canada face. In this report, various issues which are faced by nurses in Canada will be explained
in a proper way. During their shift times, nurses have to be very active as there are different
demands from different patients (Terry, Lê, Nguyen & Hoang, 2015). There are different kinds
of patients who require different ways to look after them, so nurses need to be well and fit to
meet the various needs of the patients.
In Canada, there is a shortage of the number of nurses in the healthcare systems. With the
increase in the number of patients, the nurses have to take up heavy workloads which is a

significant problem for them. The main idea for the conduction of this report is to identify the
major trends in nursing and the various problems which are faced by nurses in Canada.
Background
With the decrease in the number of nurses in the healthcare system, there is increased
pressure on the existing nurses, which causes a lot of problems for them. The time which is
required for taking care of the patient is much more than expected, which requires a good
number of nurses in the healthcare system. The various hazards which are encountered by the
nurses can affect their health in both short term as well as longer-term (Boamah, Read & Spence
Laschinger, 2017).
The healthcare system around the world needs to tackle these problems which are faced
by the nurses as the healthcare system is a significant sector in the world. Some of the problems
which might be encountered by nurses around the world are musculoskeletal injuries, infections,
various changes in the mental health and various other injuries (Déry, D'Amour, Blais & Clarke,
2015). These are significant problems which might have long term as well as long term effects
on the nurses. Besides the injuries, there are various other problems which are faced by nurses,
