strategy and operations of organisation
At the organisational level, there are different kinds of examples of an organisation where
it has impact on the change on operations and strategy of an organisation which has been defined
into the following manner:
When Sainsburry's organisation has shifted themselves on the online basis then there are
lots of changes which an organisation has to face in terms of their working procedure and
execution level as well. These changes can also be in terms of improvement into the process and
routines of an organisation and also restructures the hierarchy at the operational level. Within
this digitally competitive world, it is very important to prepare themselves at the advance level
from the perspective of market(Cameron and Green., 2019). In order to compare different
business organisation, there is a comparison between Sainsbury's and Amazon that are basically
the e-commerce companies which has been defined into the following manner:

large number of employees at
the organisational level. The
hierarchical structure basically
divided into three categories or
layers which include lower,
middle and upper level of
management(Clepper., 2018).
Within the process of decision-
making, it is a kind of
approach which lead towards
the gap in the structure of
organisation. Amazon

Sainsbury's is an organisation
that uses the matrix structure
in order to run their business
into successful terms. Matrix
structure is basically flexible in
terms of nature and allows the
organisation to adopt different
kinds of situations. For
instance, if employees want a
pay rise or can be adapted in
the matters of price. So this is
the structure which has been
followed by the Sainsbury's
organisation.

of operations and mechanisms
in order to deal with an
organisation. Within the
organisation there are
dissimilar operations which
should be focused into precise
manner for developing strategy
into competitive terms
It has been analysed from the above discussion that it is very challenging for the
organisation to convince the higher management for developing effective strategy for the
organisation into result oriented terms(Galli., 2018). The organisation of business has to focus on
the development of operations for gaining the higher level of satisfaction for their customers. So
its the most important priority of Sainsbury's organisation for focusing on the different functions
in order to develop the competitive advantage into the market place.
M1 Evaluate the drivers of change in each of the example and the kinds of organisational change
which they have affected
At the organisational level, there are different kinds of drivers of change that basically
include the technology, economy, environment and society as well which is basically according
to the standards of organisation at the international level. These are the drivers which plays a
very important role into context of bringing change at the organisational level. In context to
Sainsbury's organisation it has been observed that there are certain changes at the technical level
that has affected the way of working within the organisational environment. At the economic
level, there are certain changes that affects the organisational productivity level where every
change comes into different category of effect as well(Georgiadis and et.al., 2021).From the
environment and societal perspective, it has been observed that the steps taken by the Sainsbury's
organisation into sustainable terms which affects the company from the perspective of positive
nature. So these are the change drivers that are very essential in order to bring positive results at
the level of organisation.

D1 Provide conclusion and recommendations with appropriate justification for planning
effectively for change and apply changes that impacts the analysis
It has been recommended for Sainsbury's organisation that they have to be always ready
with unique ideas and innovation factor as well so that they can stand differently into the market.
It has been concluded that for performing into out of box manner it is necessary that to bring
change at the organisational level and implement it into positive terms with the practical
approach (Ibeawuchi and et.al., 2021).For the application of change it is important that to
understand the of change management into deeper terms so that it can effectively applied at
organisational level.

of organisational change they have affected
There are different drivers of change which can be used within the organisation of
Sainsbury's, Amazon and these include technological change, environmental change, economical
and societal changes. These drivers of change help the organisation in terms of their further
development and growth as well. When organisation has used different kinds of technologies and
shifted themselves on the online basis then their working has affected but from the perspective of
positive nature. So in the overall manner, it has been observed that drivers of change creates an
impact on the organisational changes and also have their own perspective for their further growth
and development as well.

and individual behaviours within an organisation
There are different ways through which internal and external change drivers which affect
the leadership, team and behaviours at the individual level within the organisation which has
been defined into the following manner:

competition, technology, economy, political, resources and social conditions. At the level of
organisation, it has been observed that when these drivers does not support into positive context
then leader can't take their proper decision for the organisation. When there is no perfect
leadership approach then it becomes very difficult for the organisation to direct into positive
terms(Kangas and et.al., 2019). These are the drivers which affect the working of team because
they majorly rely on technologies and resources due to which they can't give their full potential
for the overall team work.
Within the organisation, the individual behaviours got affected according to these
external drivers of change due to which they can't perform into result oriented terms. There are
certain drivers of change that affects the team, individual behaviours and leadership as well. It
includes shifts in primary tasks, technology, people and administrative structures. At the level of
organisation, these drives affect the leadership because changes in structure of administrative
level and technologies also led towards the changes in working ways at the level of organisation.
The team working also got affected according to shift in drivers of change in the primary tasks
because they can't properly focus on the specific task due to fast changes at the level of
organisation. The internal drivers also affects the internal drivers because fast changes at the
level of organisation can't be adaptable through every kind of personality within the organisation.
So in this way, these external and internal drivers of change that affects the leadership, team and
individual behaviours at the level of organisation. For bringing change at the level of
organisation, it is very significant that to consider the external and internal drivers of change.
P3 Evaluate the measure that can be taken to minimise the impacts into negative manner of
change on the behaviour of organisation
There are dissimilar types of measure which minimises the negative impacts of change on
the behaviour of organisation which has been defined into the following manner:
On the priority basis, it s necessary to deal with the changes and align the business goals
in accordance with it. In the next step, it is necessary to determine the impact and people who are
affected from it. It is significant to develop the strategy of communication that basically gives the
training into effective terms (Kezar., 2018). They have to also measure the process of change
and also needs to implement the support structure into proper manner. There are certain steps
that Sainsbury's has taken for minimising the negative impacts of business with support of
model of PDCA that has been defined into the following manner:
Document Page
Plan: It is important for an organisation to perform the proper planning fir dealing with
management of change. Plan refers to the designing and formulating a significant
strategy that is important for the management of change(Lawrence and et.al., 2022). The
management that is available at the organisational level of Sainsbury's that is mainly
dedicated towards developing the plan of brief which is effective into context of
formulation of dissimilar strategies of change.
Do: This secondary stage of PDCA model which deals with the implementation of plan
into proper manner. It is the stage where employees are entitled with different kinds of
roles and responsibilities that are necessary for the development of business
organisation. Within this stage, employees are majorly focused on the work development
into systematic manner.
Change: This stage of PDCA model is the most difficult stage where employees are
mentally and physically are ready to face the change. The change management is
necessary part of dealing with the situation in the organisation. It is important for the
organisation to develop ethical practices for management change for maintaining
activities and different operations.
Act: This is the stage which is considered into the last category in the process of model
of PDCA which include the actions that has been taken by the management for dealing
with the change. There are different organisations in this world of corporate nature that
are dedicated for considering the different approaches that are useful in terms of
development of entity of business.
M2 Apply appropriate models and theories to assess critically organisation response to change
At the level of organisation of Sainsbury's, it has been observed that model of Lewin
change can be applied that contribute in terms of evaluating the response towards change. It is
the model that has certain steps which include transition, unfreezing and freezing as well(Morin.,
2018).Under the initial step, the process has been shifted away from its current state and under
the second stage where the change has been occurred. In the last step, it basically include
replacing the old ways of operating and thinking. It is the model that can be applied at the level
of organisation but it is the model that can't be applicable into every kind of situation. So in this
Document Page
way, it has been observed from the situation that up to the certain extent the model act as the
beneficial parameter but can't be applicable into every situation of the company.
P4 Explain about the different change barriers and determine how they influence decision
making of leadership in terms of organisation
There are different kinds of barriers of change at the level of organisation that has been
defined into the following manner:
Lack of clarity: At the level of organisation, when there is no clarity for the vision then
it becomes very challenging to adopt change into positive manner. That's why its very
necessary to have awareness regarding the current state of the organisation so that it will
bring change towards the state of desired future (Tortorella and et.al., 2018). When there
is no clarity regarding the vision of organisation then the implementers and drivers of
change also lacks the clarity as well.
Ineffective change communication : At the organisational level, when there is no proper
communication then it affects the overall organisation outcome into negative manner.
Within the environment of business, it is necessary that instead of announcing the
changes and expecting the employees to adjust where there is requirement to try on the
effective strategy of communication. So this is the main reason due to which ineffective
communication act as barrier for the change.
In context to Sainsbury's organisation, it has been observed that the decision-making of leader
get influenced when there is no clarity from the perspective of leader about the vision of an
organisation so as a result the decision got influenced(Waddell and et.al., 2019). At the level of
organisation, when leader has not proper communication with their team members then it
becomes very challenging to take big decisions for the organisation so as a result the decision
making leadership got influenced.
M3 Assess the driving and resist forces with support of force field analysis and show how they
influence decision making
Sainsbury's organisation has to clearly understand the concept of Force Field Analysis in
order to understand different dimensions of change which has been defined into the following
manner:

It is important for the company to apply force field analysis for understand the different
dimensions of change. Sainsbury's organisation has applied the force field analysis at the level of
organisation that has been defined into the following manner:
Force of driving nature: Driving force is considered as the power that helps the business
organisation for coping up with different changes by developing the precise strategy of
business. There are certain major customers of Sainsbury's organisation who on the
higher scale demand for the effective services so that organisation has tried hard for
fulfilling the demand of their customers.
Force of resisting nature: Resisting force is that force where employees resist for the
change that has been faced by the organisation. Within the entity of business, there are
different barriers which are majorly faced by the organisation of Sainsbury's and their
employees as well(Woods and et.al., 2020). There are certain major issues or barriers
that have been faced by the Sainsbury's organisation where the main issue regarding the
prices which have been offered on the higher scale due to which customers have tried to
save the money. They have to face challenges regarding the savvy and demanding
customer where the customer buys on the frequent basis and also the quality of store
environment is also a factor.
D2 Assess into critical terms about the use of force field analysis in terms of meeting out the
objectives of an organisation
At the level of Sainsbury's organisation, the main objective is that to discharge the
responsibility as leaders in its trade through acting with complete integrity. It is also about
carrying out the work to the public good and to the quality of life in community in order to
provide unrivalled value to its customers in the quality of goods it sells in the competitiveness
of its range of choices and prices it offers. The application of force field analysis also support
into context of evaluating the driving and resisting forces at the level of organisation. The
analysis of these forces contribute in terms of bringing change at the level of organisation but its
use somewhere confuses the organisation into context of achievement of objectives of an
organisation into result oriented manner.
P5 Apply different leadership approaches in order to deal with change in terms of organisation
There are different approaches of leadership for dealing with change into context of
organisation which has been defined into the following manner:
Document Page
Transformational approach: At the global and national level, there are different
countries who follow this specific approach for changing the mindset of their different
customers. In context to Sainsbury's organisation, they have to facilitate this leadership
for facing the large changes at the organisational level.
Situational approach: The evaluation of situation has been performed into proper terms
within this kind of leadership. Within the market place there are major organisation who
are successful and uses this approach for developing leadership on the basis of situation.
So these are the approaches of leadership that can be used at the level of organisation for
dealing with the change into result oriented form.
M4 Evaluate the extent to which leadership approaches can deliver the organisational change
effectively applying proper models and frameworks
There are different types of leadership approaches that can be used into context of
delivering the change at the organisational level. According to different types of situation of an
organisation these approaches can be implemented or used for bringing positive change within
the environment of business. These different approaches can be autocratic, situational and
transformational as well that can be used according to different nature of the leader of an
organisation. That's why up to a certain level these leadership approaches can deliver the change
at the organisational level within the business environment.
D3 Assess into critical terms about the effectiveness of leadership approaches and models of
change management
At the organisational level of Sainsbury's, the approaches can't be implemented from the
long run perspective but these can be effective. It is due to this reason that the environment of
business keeps on changing and the working ways also got influenced into continuous manner.
According to changing period of time, technology also got changes according to changing period
of time so it can't be possible that it is effective in the long run. There are different kinds of
models such as Kotter model, Lewin change model can't be effective into every kind of situation.
It is because of this reason that the organisation can't be supportive in terms of long run. That's
why these models and approaches can be effective up to a particular period of time.

at the organisational level. It has been concluded that there are examples of different organisation
which shows that change has an impact on the organisational operations and strategy. There are
different ways where external and internal change drivers affects the team, leadership and
individual behaviours as well. So in the overall manner, it has been observed that change is very
important for the organisation's further growth and development as well. It is necessary because
without change an organisation can't give effective results.
