INTRODUCTION
Sales management is a process that helps company to achieve it's sales targets or even
surpass those sales targets (Wang, and et. al. 2019.). This process focuses on application of sales
strategies, managing sales operations and improving sales of company. This management hire,
train and guide sales staff to achieve company's sales objective effectively. If company is
generating any revenue than sales management department play very important role in
achieving sales goals and increase sales of company by surpassing those goals. For the project,
Argos Ltd is chosen which is a retailing company which was founded in November 1972 by
Richard Tompkins. It's Headquarter is in Milton Keynes, England. Company has online and
offline both stores where it serves it's customers. Firm's sales department comprises
responsibilities to manage online and offline both sales processes of company.
This report explains principles of sales management along with merits of how sales
structure is organised. It further includes principles of successful selling as well as explains
finance of selling.
TASK 1
P1 Principles of sales management in context of selling methods, reporting of sale and
importance of sales planning.
Sales management is procedure that includes all activities relevant to operating and
controlling sales activities of company. Sales department of company uses sales management to
attain firm's sales objectives.
Principles of sales management helps in managing process of sales management and
increase sales of company (Shreffler, Schmidt, and Weiner, 2018.). These are basic rules which
direct and control sales management of company. There are various principles of sales
management such as consistency, delegation, conviction and equality. Sales management has a
very wide scope it includes lot of activities such as forecasting, sales budgeting, sales training
and hiring. All these activities covers a wider scope in sales management. At Argos, well
qualified persons are hired in sales department and then they are trained to achieve best sales
outcomes. After completion of training sales persons are provided with different sale tasks such
as providing information about company's products to consumers, management of stock or
inventory at all branches of Argos.
