research has been done on the information available in public domain and investor relations
section of the Sandfire resources website, along with other public narratives. The theories that
have been discussed and applied in this assignment for Sandfire resources are Agency theory,
Resource Dependency Theory and the Stakeholder Theory; also, legitimacy theory. As part
of the outcomes of this report, we an understand the board orientation and CSR contributions
of Sandfire resources in accordance with Legitimacy theory.

Introduction and Company Facts (Summary)
Sandfire Resources NL is considered as the most dynamic mid-tier mining company in
Australia. Sandfire has collaborated with Australian copper producers since 2012 and has
been listed in the Australian Securities Exchange. Sandfire Resources owns a flagship project
mine named DeGrussa Copper-Gold Mine in western Australia with a 100% ownership.
Based on the secondary research, it was observed that Sandfire Resources has moved along a
long journey, moving from drill out, development, financing and construction, to launching
of first copper mine in the span of three years. The journey of the company has been
remarkable as it has set the new benchmarks for the practices which lead to efficient & rapid
development of resources in the Australian continent. The company Sandfire Resources
operates in the mining industry, also known as Energy and Resources industry. The
company is utilizing all cash flow generated from DeGrussa, in development perspectives for
becoming world-class Australian mining company. DeGrussa is producing superior quality of
copper-in-concentrate. This content also has some level of gold concentrates in it. It is
predicted that Sandfire resources will produce around 66,000 tonnes of copper metal with
contained concentration & approximately 37,000 ounces of gold metal (contained
