Company’s history
Global Bike Inc is a bicycle company that was founded in the year 2000 after John and Peter
decided to merge their two companies to form the GBI. The GBI bikes are designed for both
professional cycling market and touring. The company focuses on maintaining a good
relationship with their customers by selling bicycle accessories such as first aid kits, water
bottles, helmets and other related products. For the company to maintain its competitive
ability, the GBI has a strict adherence to the following core: safety, innovation, reliability and
product performance.
Currently, John and Peter, who are the co-founders of the GBI, shares the managing
responsibilities of the fast-growing company as the CEO. John is responsible for marketing,
IT, service and support, sales finance and human resource groups. Peter, on the other hand,
has the following responsibilities: research, bike design, head of various manufacturing
groups and procurement.
This paper executes all the GBI transactions and gives all the reports required to complete the
various SAP transactions.

You can quickly notice that GBI trading goods are centralized, and the chart above shows
how the company uses various units to see that the SAP supports the company’s design. The
products have different categories and codes for ease of access by various interest groups.
The chart further shows the details in which the materials are grouped, for example, grouping
by dimensions such as weight, product size and the net weight.

In this chart, shows the US East store where GBI trading goods are stored. Here the material
data dialogue box is displayed. Taxing of the product bought is done with the aid of the
system that automatically calculates the tax per item purchased. The good’s validity is
determined by the sales agent who displays it on the customers’ side. Because GBI values
customers’ retention, this helps to win the trust of the customer.

Most of the GBI offices are consolidated in Dallas headquarter. Such offices are
HR, finance, material planning and IT. Here they facilitate the production of
trading goods which will be then transported to different stores within the US and
some exported to external markets. According to temypress.com (2019), Miami
and San Diego are the central warehouses for shipping and exporting GBI
products. Miami warehouse deals with exports to Latin America and distribution
of some products to East Coast USA.

The above chart utilises the procurement department, where the conditions of the
manufactured goods are closely monitored.

The chart above shows navigation that can is made in this warehouse. It further indicates
details on the sales order, price details and the total stock available. The data can be accessed
by both the sales and production team to maximise their services and help to reduce the time
can customer can wait for the desired product.
