Introduction
Problem-solving is the technical handling of issues (Bardach & Patashnik, 2019). It is the
key management policy (Adair, 2019). This question remains, asking what an individual shall do
when faced with a certain problem. How shall the person obtain a solution? What steps does he
take to get that solution? When solving a particular problem, it is essential to use a well thought
out approach. In this assignment, the 6 step method shall be used to address the issue in scenario
one. In this scenario1, an individual has to decide on staying on the job where he may continue
with his education or go to another job so as to add his finance. The main aim of this paper is to
state the ideas that can be employed in solving the issue in scenario one by use of the 6 step
method.
Step1: Define the Problem in Scenario 1
In this scenario1, the main problem is that the worker has been working with the firm for
eleven years. An alternative opportunity for employment has offered itself in a rival organization
in another state. His present organization has permitted him to continue with his education and
get a degree. This individual is being provided a rank by a firm that remains to pay more money
as compared to his current organization. Nevertheless, this new organization is not providing
other inducements, for example, education that his present firm is providing to its employees. In
this competing organization, a degree remains needed to be considered for the job. The problem
in this scenario1 is between financial increase and education advancement.
Step2: Analyzing the Problem in Scenario 1
This person has worked for the firm for eleven years. He put all his efforts toward
ensuring he accomplishes his duties well. Another supervisor in a new organization has also

acknowledged the performance of this worker. The worker is pleased by the firm's effort of
wanting him to advance his studies. Nevertheless, he is hesitant since the new organization in as
much as it is giving a good salary to its employees; it does not provide the educational
advancements for its workers. The worker ought to analyze this move and then make an
amicable decision. First, he has not completed his current degree, and this new opportunity wants
him to move within 2 weeks. In case he accepts, then he shall postpone his graduation date. Also,
accepting the job shall make him lose tuition incentives offered by his current organization.
Step3: Generating Options for Solving the Problem
The possible option for the individual to select would be the individual, first of all,
confirm from the company if they may deferral his start date. This shall provide him time to
finish his degree. The 2nd option would be the worker to speak with his new organization if they
can support his education advancement. It might be they provide such opportunities immediately
the worker accepts the job. The third option would be the employee to discuss with his present
employers if they may raise his pay.
Step Four: Evaluating the Options
The 1st option was for this new organization to delay the employee’s date of reporting. If
the organization agrees to this, the employee shall have sufficient time to complete his studies.
This shall enable him to commence his new job with all the required certificates. In as much as
he shall be earning more money in the new firm, he could not be sure whether he shall stay for a
longer period in the new organization. He could consider working in his present organization if
the organization agrees to increase his salary.
Step5: Selecting the Best Option

The better choice would be found out after he has evaluated and analyzed all the facets of
the choices (Soergel, 2018). In this case, the best choice would be for the worker to stay in his
present job and ask for an additional salary. This is because he still not aware of what will
happen in the new organization.
Step Six: Implementing the Solution
It shall be easy for the worker to implement his decision mainly if he decides to remain in
his present job. After weighing the available options, as well as asking his present employer for
additional payment, he ought to consider the benefits that he shall obtain when he decides to
remain with his new organization.
